I play 40 lands in pretty much every deck and as many Ravnica bounce lands as I'm allowed play. I rarely flood but occasionally get mana screwed, it's probably right to play more.
so John has never played landfall decks is what he's saying. I have 40 lands in 2 of my decks, I'm thinking about cutting a couple, depending on the average cmc of the deck. in Lord Windgrace I would play 42 lands or something.
I just got back into magic (last time I played was from original to Ice Age) and picked this commander deck. What cards would you considered taking out to fit some or all these cards you recommend?
Correction about the comment made "you get paid no matter what" about boxing ring. Your creature has to have survived the fight for you to control a creature that fought this turn, so either you won or you at least had them bounce off each other. if you lost you no longer control that creature so you cant activate it to get a treasure.
Boxing Ring is heading straight for my Ruxa deck. My creatures with no abilities outshine my opponent's creature from the same "weight class". Elsewhere... maybe creatures with deathtouch/infect/wither?
I kind of like that dash copy guy flamerush rider in here though. With a mana discount rolling you can make a second attacker for 2 red and worst case he isn’t bad to blitz himself. I feel like people missed out.
I am making Beamtown for sure, way more interesting! - Already added Temnpting Wurm, Boldwyr Heavyweights, Phyrexian Negator and Hellcarver Demon. Along with some more group hug themed such as Veteran Explorer and Rootweaver Druid. Gotta say, kinda disappointed that you guys went the boring route and chose the face commander when the Beamtown is SO much more interesting and unique
Beamtown is such a narrow boring commander. Oh look everyone put the same 10 creatures in their deck that your opponent doesn’t work wow so unique and interesting. They sure don’t want those things. Let’s fill up the rest with typical things. Donating things to your opponent has never been done before.
@@regaleagle6533 I totally disagree. yes many will put in things like Leveler and Eater of days, not me. I have gone more group hug in some aspects allowing everyone (when i play it myself) to grab lands with things like Veteran Explorer. I obviously have things like Tempting Wurm and the boulder giants thing but thinfs like Phyrexian Negator could be very funny if the person tries to Blas Act for example. Also just picked up some general good things like Bane of progress, Keldon Firebombers is another one that could be really fun to slow down everyone. Its been done before multiple times, but this one is more interesting i feel. As its more of a "oh god i dont want to play this, but want you to have it" Playing against Chaos decks with it has been SO much fun but every time a warp world or such has come about its been a case of "well, this could go VERY badly for me" and i find that hilarious. A big part of why i made it - as people moaned when i play Nihiloor and stole their stuff, now they can moan when i give them stuff as well Lol
While I don't think Beamtown is without some interesting playspace, as we've seen multiple times before, commanders like them often fall off very quickly or are likely to recieve a bad reputation because of how easily degenerate they can be. This has led to many commanders in the past amounting a sizable amount early only to immediately plummet once playgroups start to rule 0 them out. Henzie is far and away the breakout star for Jund In this set. Blitz alone as a mechanic is extremely potent & a lot of even the commons and uncommons have playable effects. On top of that, the sheer number of different creatures that greatly benefit from Henzie's effect makes for a lot of deck & strategy variety. Henzie essentially allows you to benefit off of ETB Attack and LTB/death triggers while generating you incredible value through ramp & card advantage. I felt similarly to you at first on Henzie, so I get it. When I first saw him I thought calling him Toolbox was a stupid joke and that his mechanics were too parasitic to do anything with, but once I started pre-brewing I saw all the possibilities for him, and once I started playing him I realized just how wrong I was about him. Henzie is strong, fun, and incredibly varied in what you can do with him.
Jolene seems like a fun, not too strong commander to build around. Perfect for a casual game with friends.

...Also the only reason Temple of the False God gets so much hate is because people don't play enough lands.
I was waiting for this, thanks!

been waiting for this
Jon was a fan of The Shadow? Ok, I could be persuaded to be #TeamSuarez for a man of such fine culture
I bought this deck, there is no Boxing Ring in this deck.... i dunno where you got your list, but its wrong
I added Soulgorger Orgg to my Bullies deck. Works great with no life gain/fast damage. :)
I just got back into magic (last time I played was from original to Ice Age) and picked this commander deck. What cards would you considered taking out to fit some or all these cards you recommend?
Happy for the upgrade guide! Really excited for this deck!!
I will say though… what’s with all the weird spam comments???

So, which cards should I cut from the precon deck?

I didn't recall getting that in my deck.
@@Volundur9567 I didn't get it either
It's not in this deck
@@tyler200100 It's, weirdly, one of those "extra commander cards", like the Myojin from Neon Dynasty that you can find randomly in packs.
First thing I did when I saw Beamtown Bullies was send Jon a list. Doesn't seem like that was neccesary though.
Blitz seems better than dash tbh, never played with it but the abuse potential seems very high

I wonder how much Jeremy is investing in the Baldurs Gate Set inbound.
Oh so much. Have one of every nonfoil from AFR, probably doing the same thing for CL2.
I wanna throw foodchain in this. Sac the blitz creatures and my commander at end of turn amd recast it
the boxing ring isnt in the commander deck.
Yea, this was confusing
@@BurningIntelect I saw them open the packs before the commander game and they opened the boxing ring so maybe that’s where the confusion came from.
I got boxing ring from this pack. I just started playing literally 3 weeks ago lol.
