One card that I think should've made the cuts list is Promise of Aclazotz. While the effect itself can be strong for 2 mana, it specifies that you have to sacrifice a non-demon creature which is a terrible combination with Clavileno since he turns the creatures you want to sacrifice the most into demons
@@DownAtrociousI disagree; it basically allows you to double up on Clavileno's effect (sans the card draw). You only get his trigger once a turn at most, so having another way to turn your 1/1 vampires into 4/3 flyers is crucial.
I wanted to say a sleeper card for this deck is liliana's contract, because it literally just turns your vampires into demons for free without changing their names and you can win your game on upkeep as a pretty easy win, and if your opponents decide to remove the demons, then you've just gained a free flying 4/3 and you draw a card
@@Magickingdom364 Clavileno has "Whenever you attack, target attacking Vampire that isn't a Demon BECOMES a Demon in addition to its other types." This means that when you attack with your Vampire creatures, they become Demons after your attack phase, and therefore Liliana's Contract will trigger on your next upkeep because you now control 4 or more Demon creatures (in addition to your Vampire creatures) with different names. You will, of course, be a target, but your opponents must decide to either let you win the game, or receive free 4/3 tokens.
Butcher of Malakir and Blade of the Bloodchief are wild in this deck if you combine it with something like Viscera Seer to sacrifice several 1/1 white vamp tokens. Attach blade to a creature you'll attack with, use Viscera Seer to sac X tokens, you get to scry X times, opponents sacrifice X creatures, you're gonna end up clearing your opponents board and growing your creature with blade to swing for big damage and no blockers providing you had enough tokens to sac with.
Thank you for this video! As you mentioned in the video, the deck is already well-constructed and much harder to remove cards, for adding new cards! Great out-of-the-box Deck, your video helped me to make the cuts and upgrades needed, even if I put in some other cards, more around the combos, less good cards on their own.

All precons are just hillariously good. Best precons we got since 2017 for sure!!
I have to hard disagree with the take that Butcher slows the game down and doesn't close things out. You are already going to be sacrificing creatures, the deck is designed to do that regardless if butcher is in it or not, so when he hits he immediately gives you a way to clear out opponents boards so you can get your vamps through to finish. Saying butcher just slows the game down is like saying one-sided boardwipes slow the game down.
@@simplyprism5854 because butcher is super high on curve and will be a dead card in your hand if you draw it in the first 6 turns. Grave pact and dictate both can drop pretty early.
@@bryden5243But didn't you watch the video, if you put grave pact in she won't play with you. Because letting your opponent chose a creature to sacrifice is apparently somehow worse than straight up removal or board wipe?!?

I know he’s a bit slow but Edgar Markov from Vow is a good fit. He’s a lord and if/when he dies he gives you more bodies to sac and then comes back as a lord again.
Teysa Karlov will double up the card draw and token generation trigger. PLUS she gives tokens vigilance and lifelink, which is a great defence for an aggressive attacking deck. Sadly, not a vampire :'(
I'm sure there's an alternative. This deck already has Twilight Prophet (creature) and Radiant Destiny (enchantment) which both give the City's Blessing (vigilance to all creatures), and most of your tokens will emerge with lifelink right off the bat so you won't necessarily be lacking either.
@@xcprytRoaming Throne is much stronger because it adds up to all the other non diying triggers on the deck and also counts as a vampire. Very hard not to add that card in my opinion. And hey, even if you somehow don't, you can just sacrifice the creature with one of your many sac outlets, just as you often do in black-red drafts with Threaten effects.

I love this precon! I haven't made a Vampire Tribal deck yet but I've been wanting to make an aristocrats deck for a while and this seems like a good starting point. If you're looking for additional sacrifice outlets beyond the obvious includes--I love Spawning Pit by the way!--I was cruising through some old cards and came across the Bloodthrone Vampire? Nothing special, but it threatens as a beater, and plays into Vampire synergies so I think I'll be throwing one in when I go to make some alterations.
I was super excited about this deck. I've been trying to build an aristocrats deck for a while, and this is the perfect shell I needed. First, I tried with Ayara, but my friend pointed out she's a Reanimator deck, which Can be similar to Aristocrats, but is not actually aristocrats. Then I tried with Alela, Artful Provocateur. She can generate a whole lot of fairy tokens and is a pretty good start for what we want with aristocrats. So far, however she hasn't really done her thing. Clavelino has the whole strategy right there on his rules text. It's pretty perfect. Definitely looking forward to playing with this decl, and the suggestions you have for it are pretty good, especially for Clavelino, while the other upgrade I saw focused more on Carmen. In other news, I think my favorite word is... probably Counterintuitive or Counterproductive. Not exactly sure which between the two.

I threw in Vito on a whim and didn’t realize that was an infinite. Some of the cards they wanted removed I kept in simply cause I think they make some of the decks stronger like butcher
Agreed! I went to my local game store and picked up sanguine bond as soon as I heard of it. If anything and the combo doesn’t work, it still causes your opponents to play forced decisions instead of favorable ones!
rachel and damen together is awesome. i don't even want to play this deck, but you've got my two favourite people, and it was such a treat. my favourite word is actually a japanese word, it's hisashiburi (久し振り) which is just one word that kind of means 'long time no see'. i just love the way it sounds
I like that blade of bloodchief so much that i also got tarrian soulcleaver i also went heavy on sac outlets and token multipliers i swapped kindred boon for kindred dominance its a better kindred for the deck. I also put bartolomeo in the command zone a couple games and it was OKAY the other two are better but it was nice having a 2 drop sac outlet in the CZ though
I built it in a different direction, but it's great to see different ideas from someone else. Also my favorite word is potpourri. I think it's such a fun word to say and it easily rolls off the tongue. I literally don't even know what potpourri is and intend to keep it that way.
@@CZdamenlenz Thank you I appreciate that. From context, all I know is that it smells nice, joyfully something like cinnamon. Conversely, I think pickle is a gross word. It even had the word, "ick" in it.
Hey guys, Vona is restricted to your turn, it's not sorcery speed... she is always worth it. It's permanent removal vigilance, so always attacks and always removes a permanent during the attack... Also makes blocking always a bad deal.
This is my favorite deck of the 4, though it is not the strongest by far. Sure, fliers are relevant but only creating one demon per attack really slows the deck down and makes Clavileño weaker than he should have been…
I agree they didn’t suggest the throne. The throne is amazing for any deck running abilities. Multiple creature abilities are bonkers with the thrown when there is a synergy with a creature type. But honestly even with only 1 other giant in my Osgir deck I will run throne cause…multi ability trigger. *snaps fingers*
I really think you're sleeping on Carmen as a commander. After playing several games with both commanders Carmen performed significantly better across the board. She can return your sac ramp, creatures you lost to removal or board wipes, or creatures with etbs or death triggers (like Elenda the Dusk Rose, she does *WORK* under Carmen) so you are constantly outvaluing you opponents just out of your starting hand. Plus, once Carmen gets big enough, commander damage wins are fairly common.
Isn't Carmen too slow? Costs 5 mana and has no haste... if you don't got 200% artifacts it feels kinda slow... turn 5/6 I'm in a real pinch against dinos/pirates
Hi. Kindred Boon stan here. Although I wish it were a little cheaper, I'm never taking Kindred Boon out. It's basically board wipe protection for your broken non-token creatures. Kindred Boon paired with Butcher of Malakir is nasty in the late game and has won me a couple games against my friends who have been playing Magic for longer than I have. I'm also pretty sure the divinity counters stay on the creatures that already have them even after Kindred Boon is picked off.
What would a Commander version of the Slaughterhouse deck from Avecyn Restored look like? Can you provide a decklist? Make it a budget deck? Harvester of Souls, the main creature from the deck, does NOT have to be the Commander (if he even is one/can even BE one at all) but have him in the deck regardless.
Isn't "Kindred Boon" a very good card, if I put a divinity counter on Clavileño and make him indestructible? Or is it not possible to put it on my commander, only on other creatures? Thanks for answers :)
I just got the the deck, kindred boon isn't super great but when it comes to my 4/3 flyers. It's nice knowing they can block angels and dragons and other big flyers. Also keeping the stuff I don't want to die like my commander is good. Still I rather switch for a board protection spell in case my vampires aren't demons yet. As for gravepact effects. I think it works in this deck just to deal with all creatures and your sacing anyway
I played this in its precon form a few times. The big issue is: you only get one trigger each turn. This is kinda slow for an aggressiv strategy. Next: if you play Clavileno on your third turn and attack with a 1 or 2 drop, you still have nothing to attack with on turn 4 besides your commander. That feels bad and is difficult to avoid. So overall not that aggressiv. I thought this would be a fast attacking deck, but I found it to be made for late game. You can build your board well. Give stuff kind of protection through the dies trigger and wait until someone wipes the board, which puts you in the winning position. Now you have a full hand and a good boardstate. If you can also sac your stuff in that moment it is even better. So include as much good sac outlets as you can afford. I am very unsure if lord affects are good in this deck. What do you think? Better to hold your own until boardwipe, or put as much pressure as possible on your opponents?
Always play better cards if your group isn’t super casual. If power level is the issue then you can tweak the deck for that but never remove cards just because you “might” be seen as the threat
God. Right now I run a White (with splash of red) deck filled with Gnomes and Golems and a bunch of token generators. That Charismatic Conqueror would be absolutely DEVASTATING to play against
I've been enjoying this deck. I was playing it last night and was working to end the game, but saw six of the ten cards right at the endthat were reccomended to cut and ended up losing.
35:00 Charismatic Conqueror will not stop a Sol Ring, or any mana rock from being used the same turn you play it. You can simply tap it for mana and then chose to tap it when the ability resolves even if it is already tapped. Same goes for any creatures with tap abilities AND haste. On the other hand it will stop Wayfarer's Bauble since if you sac it in response you can't tap a permanent that is not on the battlefield anymore.
Per the ruling on 11/10/2023; “If the permanent is tapped as the ability resolves, the opponent can't choose to tap it, so you'll create a Vampire token. Similarly, if it's no longer on the battlefield as the ability resolves, they can't choose to tap it, and you'll create a Vampire token.” In short, can you use the mana right away from a Sol Ring? Yes. Will the Charismatic Conqueror player get a vampire then? Also yes.
We typically don't talk about cards that come out in the same set as the precons because it's really hard to gage price but Roaming Throne is awesome in this deck.
Clavileno has a lot of synergy with Liliana's Contract; Clavileno - Whenever you attack, target attacking Vampire that isn't a Demon becomes a Demon in addition to its other types. Liliana's Contract - upkeep trigger, If you control four or more Demons with different names, you win the game. This would mean that unless your opponent chooses to target your new Vampire Demons, you can win the game in a single turn. If an opponent decides to kill them, you instead get a 4/3 white and black Vampire Demon creature token with flying. It's a win win either way. You can also now cause a bit of chaos with Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bind, because the trigger suggests they will infinitely trigger until either Enchantment cannot target an opponent anymore, winning the game. It's even funnier if you add Bloodletter of Aclazotz into the mix, doubling all damage and life gain at the same time. 🍻
Grave pact effects are very fun when you are running mass token gen vamps like me. With Ojer Taq and Roaming throne and other vamps generating tokens along with Clavileños ability i have so many vamps i sac some vamps, clear the other players boards and go on a killing spree. That being said i dont run this deck in cadual commander lol

Clavileño is an Aristocrat deck and i love playing it just the way it is made❤ Attack, Sacrifice, Draw amazing
First time seeing this channel, great content, super in-depth, thanks!
I built it in a different direction, but it's great to see different ideas from someone else.
Also my favorite word is potpourri. I think it's such a fun word to say and it easily rolls off the tongue. I literally don't even know what potpourri is and intend to keep it that way.
Very cool and unique choice, I respect that. I won't ruin your fun and tell you what it is
@@CZdamenlenz Thank you I appreciate that. From context, all I know is that it smells nice, joyfully something like cinnamon.
Conversely, I think pickle is a gross word. It even had the word, "ick" in it.
@@Dev.L Bro im all in for some pickle potpourri
Wheres the bloodthrone vampire???. Shes a sac outlet who can sac herself when she attacks if you need a flying demon on the go
I've never loved Bloodthrone in my other vampire decks but you have some good points about her in this deck. I will definitely try her out
YAY! I was waiting for this upgrade so much ahaha
Hey guys, Vona is restricted to your turn, it's not sorcery speed... she is always worth it. It's permanent removal vigilance, so always attacks and always removes a permanent during the attack... Also makes blocking always a bad deal.
Carmen looks great against treasure token decks
She absolutely bonkers against treasure decks! I'm really enjoying playing her right now
Everyone seems to forget that exquisite blood also got reprinted in a jumpstart set
I absolutely forgot about the jumpstart reprint
i LOVE Exquisite Blood. I have an Arena deck built especially around that card.
Exquisite Blood is so much fun
Vampire Nocturnes.. those 4/3’s become 6/5’s as long as top card is black
Damon!!!!!! Love to see the team!
I'm allways using Blade of the bloodchief with elenda the Dusk Rose. I get her big early sac her and get many Tokens to use my sac outlets just more.
Throw in Illusionist's bracers, Strionic Resonator and lithoform engine...and you good be making 3 vampires into demons per attack
Exquisite blood was reprinted in Jumpstart. Prof forgot about that too.
Totally forgot about that reprint
I got the set of 4. All are fantastic.
Above all, I appreciate Damen’s shirt. Is Damen a Marine?
Why yes, yes I am. I appreciate your appreciating for my shirt!
Shuffle in some crimson vow cards, add a blood token subtheme, put Edgar Markov as the commander, you got an amazing vampire aristocrats strategy
Nice new precon
Great Etsy commercial!
Fav word- sardonic
I would add in both Bond and Vito as well as Mirkwood Bats
Sardonic is an excellent choice for favorite word
I've been enjoying this deck quite a bit, roaming throne did some work in the last game I played 😂
Roaming Throne is a house
Soo. I got this deck Because i had almost all the upgrades yall and other people have suggested! Lol
This new guy is great 👍
Why thank you!
I know it's a bit much in terms of money but Roaming throne is huge for this. It doubles both the attack and death triggers from Clavileno
Nefarious is my favorite word
YEEEEAAAAA WE LOVE DAMEN
This is also the deck I bought to upgrade, v good taste 👏
Damen's favorite word is good. But a better word I think, is defenestration
I was so hyped when we got a defenestrate card in Midnight Hunt
Cool, going straight into the 99 of Edgar... lol. Clavileno ain't replacing big daddy Markov ever 😂
I want to see Damon’s Strefan list!! One of my favorite commanders
Isn't "Kindred Boon" a very good card, if I put a divinity counter on Clavileño and make him indestructible?
Or is it not possible to put it on my commander, only on other creatures?
Thanks for answers :)
I’m surprised Amalia didn’t come up as an option. Great way to dig for the cards you need…or put cards in the graveyard to bring back.
While it may not be a Vampire, I think Drivnod Carnage Dominus would be fantastic in this deck.
Favorite word? Edifice.
Do you see room in this deck for virtue of loyalty and persistence? I feel like the synergy is there but the high CMC has me cautious.
That Charismatic Conqueror would be absolutely DEVASTATING to play against
How is roaming throne not getting added?
It's doubleing both of the commanders triggers
I've been enjoying this deck. I was playing it last night and was working to end the game, but saw six of the ten cards right at the endthat were reccomended to cut and ended up losing.
Collude is my fave word 🙏
would edgar, charmed groom also be a good addition to the deck? i'm kinda new to the game and just recently bought the precon deck
Edgar Charmed Groom is great in this deck!
What are the 9 ramp sources in the base precon? I only count 8: wayfarers bauble, 6 mana rocks and master of dark rites. What am i missing?
35:00 Charismatic Conqueror will not stop a Sol Ring, or any mana rock from being used the same turn you play it. You can simply tap it for mana and then chose to tap it when the ability resolves even if it is already tapped. Same goes for any creatures with tap abilities AND haste.
On the other hand it will stop Wayfarer's Bauble since if you sac it in response you can't tap a permanent that is not on the battlefield anymore.
Good catch. It basically says use it now or give me a vampire
Per the ruling on 11/10/2023;
“If the permanent is tapped as the ability resolves, the opponent can't choose to tap it, so you'll create a Vampire token. Similarly, if it's no longer on the battlefield as the ability resolves, they can't choose to tap it, and you'll create a Vampire token.”
In short, can you use the mana right away from a Sol Ring? Yes. Will the Charismatic Conqueror player get a vampire then? Also yes.
What about roaming throne? Clavileño could target 2 attacking vampires, and those vampires dying would create 2 tokens and draw you 2 cards.
We typically don't talk about cards that come out in the same set as the precons because it's really hard to gage price but Roaming Throne is awesome in this deck.
Vona can still be done on instant speed, so long as its your turn
Clavileno has a lot of synergy with Liliana's Contract;
Clavileno - Whenever you attack, target attacking Vampire that isn't a Demon becomes a Demon in addition to its other types.
I put Ojer taq, deepest foundation in here, 3 4/3 demon vampire tokens instead of one is crazy good
Always good to see Damen and his Tun Tavern shirt. Semper Fi
OOHRAH!!
I love vampires
I also love vampires!
You can take out a land as one of the 10. If you take out temple.. which you should you have to put in a land
Their first replacement recommendation is a land.
So if you use new blood to avenger of zendikar, it creates 0/1 vampires?
Grave pact effects are very fun when you are running mass token gen vamps like me. With Ojer Taq and Roaming throne and other vamps generating tokens along with Clavileños ability i have so many vamps i sac some vamps, clear the other players boards and go on a killing spree. That being said i dont run this deck in cadual commander lol
Path is also one of the best White ramp cards
When I clicked the upgraded deck link it was the whole deck and not just the replacements 😢 it's fine, but I was hoping I didn't have to pick them out.
which would you take out without a budget?
My favorite word is a tie between may and each lol
so, altar of bhaal can exile the demon vamp token, to recurr the dead vampire from ur graveyard to the battlefield
That's a pretty neat loop
yeah, baldur's gate still have some high synergy cards for decks hidden in it till this day
46:17 I remember when Path to Exile was eight dollars. 😂
Timothar, Baron of bats + Mirkwood Bats would be so sweet.
You would want to build that around Aclazotz, rather than a vampire creature token deck.
I could make a case for bringing Mirkwood bats into this precon… there’s a good synergy around token creation/sacrifice and M Bats 😛😛
Favorite word is magnanimous
My favorite word is defenestrate
