When I came back from Vietnam I bought a 69 road runner. One bad ass car it was may 1970 when I came home. GOD BLESS ARE VETS
Welcome home brother , came home July 69 peace sandman..........
Thank you for your service, Art!
Thanks for you service.
I missed the draft by 2months, my girl friend at the time didn't want me to join at all, she was a military brat and hated it!!!
Glade to hear from a Vietnam Vet, you guys are getting far & few between, hope you stayed away from that agent orange that was some BAD CRAP!!!!
Thank you for your service. You are a hero.
A Roadrunner without the "beep-beep!?" Whoever heard of such?
✌😎🏁💨
It’s defective, auto trans and no beep beep. But with a little love and a lot of money, the paint must change
Look at it this way, the horn is an easy fix but this car has a huge plus & thats disc brakes. because if it was me buying it from my experience is drum brakes suck { & I always do disc brake swaps } because if you really want to drive the car keep up with traffic & enjoy the car you need disc brakes thats a $ 3500 job or so..Horn 300 :)
@@Scalihoo $3500, for disc brakes, you've been getting ripped off. Beep beep horn, about $76 from several different places. You are a sucker.
Definitely Dodges coolest Road runner, Nick, please take the decals off the back window, if people don't know what it is then they don't need to.😀👍💪
It's not a Dodge, it's a Plymouth! 👌
Z
Dodge, Plymouth, tomato,tamoto
@@archiebunker6059 My friends got a Chrysler and I drive a Dodge!👌🤪
I also see there is no fender tag, look out.....
This is not a Roadrunner...No side marker lights, no cold air switch for the grabber or vacuum pump, no tic tac tock, Roadrunners did not have top mounted signals on front fenders, vinyl top does not look original, just to name a few! Asking way too much for this car. Also did not see a fender tag!!!
Clone
T0: '69bird100'
You dont know much about mopars apparently! Or auto body work for that matter!
Any & ALL mopars had side marker lights unless they skined them over, plus, some did and some didn't have fender signals! As for the fresh air package under the hood, it should have an orange vent type pull cable just under the ignition, all '69 roadrunners that had said package were cable operated!!!
Tic tac Tock wasn't available on RRs until 1970 and top mounted signals were standard in 68 and 69
It could very well be a clone but, 69 road runners did not have a tic tok tack until 70. the fender lights was a rare option on 69s and so was the tack. The tack in 68-69 was a small tack in with the speedo. I could see me paying maybe 10 for this car with all the work to correct it being considered
@@2010deanML The signals were a rare option. I had 2 69s neither had them
No beep beep?.. Man that's number one reason to buy that car.. Lol... Gotta hear the road runner
Sweet ride, reminds me of my moms. She had one in the early 70's identical to that one, my grandad bought it for her for 2k. I bought one in when I was in high school back in '85, mine was B5 blue front bench with a 4sd I paid 2k for. That one will sell quick!!!
Very cool!
I love those '69 Roadrunner's! That's definitely not a '69 RR center console though.
@@richardleser6505 or E-body, could also be a 70...but didn't get a look at the back to see if the seat belt holder was there or not! ;-)
its an E body console guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@garywilson12 doesn’t matter you nutcase. This channel doesn’t claim anything is original or stock
That ride has some serious potential. Long tube headers, could be coupled up with an upgraded 3" exhaust system. Undercarriage needs some attention but the owner must be enjoying this purchase. Always enjoy Nick's videos :)
Sidelights have been filled in
68 had round side marker lights, 69 was simple rectangular reflectors which are missing.
That roadrunner awesome car
"Stop ridin' my bumper....
or we're gonna have an issue..."😂
Have said that plenty of times myself! Had me rolling! Lol!😂
Seriously, love these RR's and those reliably powerful 383's! 👍😎
either a clone ,or just not all put together correctly..not worth 36k
Love it, there's no car like a Mopar! ♥️👍
Unfortunately, now Nopar
Opps SORRY, that was supposed to be a thums UP, as i also am a Mopar Fan, i picked up a 69 RR rag top, 383 mag, 727, paid a grand for it in Feb 1976, was my second car, didn't know what i had at first but i fell in love on the way home ( it was 30 miles from my home town ) as i blew the doors & trunk too off of a stag mach, ??? one i think.
I used to pick on Mustangs & Camaros with a busted motor mount! I couldn't lay into it til 20 or 25mph by then then THOUGHT they had me but i kick the sencondares in and walk away from most all of them!
Hey Art, was yours a convertible, or hard top? They only made 2,128 rags out of over 80,000 units, there were none in 68! Only around 40,000 units in 68.
My son looked up the production numbers and only 10 of the 2,128 were ordered with a hemi so IF a guy can find rag with a hemi it will definitely cost a few bucks.
Very nice but what need to be done dash a little moist underneath priced is to high
Yes about 10 to 15 thousand to high
@@roopelnova4232 hood mounts don't even work ,19,000 all day..turn signal that's hole car of era.
Arm rest with ash trays go in the rear.
What a killer, terrific Mopar Road Runner you`ve got here. Looking back, when there was no OPEC, oil crisis, polution devices at all, the original sticker price was very low, I guess below $3.500 bucks. Incredible. Nice price, to sell it very soon.
If I didn’t have as many cars I would have already sent the direct deposit for this car.
Not being picky, just a few things I noticed from owning a few of these things back in the day. Turn signal stalk is a little off kilter, E body console, wrong mirrors for that car, not a rally dash. I'm not sure this is not a dressed up Satellite. Mirror control in the driver's door looks out of place for a Road Runner. This car has a few problems, but if it were mine I would sleep in it. Mopar or no car
You forgot no side marker lights. In the road runner 70 was the first year for the rally dash but you could get 150 speedo and a small tack beside it as an option.
@@roopelnova4232 68 had round side marker lights, 69 was simple rectangular reflectors which are missing.
@@bushmaster2936 Yes sir. And the 71s had a one year only triple style
@@bushmaster2936 Not reflectors on a 69. Side marker LIGHTS. They had wires going to them and frickin bulbs in them. Why would they go from a light to just a reflector in a time when more and more safety related items were being put on cars?
@@davidkeeton6716 Sorry to get your panties in a bunch. I was referring to the shape of the plastic reflector versus the round lens in the '68, which I don't recall as being reflective at this time. They were much more stylish with their chrome rings around them versus the simpler looking rectangles. Have a good day !
Loved the roadrunner looking at ya in the rearview, beep, beep!! Great video! ♥️
This is my favorite Road Runner 😎
Just buy a cheap civic for everyday driving and give yourself a favor and buy this car as a leisure car. Properly restored or in good condition, 39k is a bargain compared to buying a new Camaro or Mustang. This is not just a car, you buy an automotive history and part of an iconic “muscle car era”
If you look at the lower part real good. you can see a lot of filler has been used and for some reason the side marker lights are gone. This car will need to be stripped and all body work corrected if you was to buy this car as a keeper. This is more of a 20K dollar car. I have restored mopars for over 25 years.
@@roopelnova4232 68 had round side marker lights, 69 was simple rectangular reflectors which are missing.
Cool road runner thanks nick
I dont think kick down is working , perhaps you're hearing the carberater secondaries ?
What happened to the side marker lights, they are all missing ??
Probably bondo over them. Look close at the bottom rear corner of the driver side door and you will see what I mean. This car has a lot of mud in the bottom of it. Considering how much work you would have to do to make a 35.000 dollar car out of this I would think it would be in the 15-20 price range.
68 had round side marker lights, 69 was simple rectangular reflectors which are missing.
@@bushmaster2936 Not reflectors, lights. They lit up when the lights were on. A DOT standard. Come on you know better than that.
@@davidkeeton6716 nope. 68 light up, 69 do not on mopars.
I want the 440 4speed
Nice looking car!
Love those wheels. They look great on any car
Had a 68 383 4 speed good times.
Wow. Bought my 69 383 4 speed. For $900. Back in 1982. Was a fun car. Crazy prices these days.
Isn't it amazing how cheap any Mopar was back then, especially in the south. The only thing people would agree on that they really hated was the sound of the starter. Now every high compression engine gets a gear reduction starter put on it and they sound like a Chrysler starter. Go figure.
Someone got a nice car there
Perfect beautiful amazing looking car beautiful colours thanks Nick have a very nice day mate
Nice car but it seems to lack the details for $37k.
The motor sounds good and I like the Air Grabber to !!
The A12 option air grabber is not functional.
@@zuggraywolf I know it is not , but its good that it is in place so it can me fixed
And you do the walk around You should go over the car on the bottom with a magnet.
late 1980's i could have bought one for 2500.00 only thing wrong with it it had dent in fender soft ball size these are going up in prize
I remember back in the summer of '73, I bought my first '69 383 4 speed Roadrunner for $1095 at a dealer and a week later, at another dealer, was a silver '69 Hemi Roadrunner for $1050, I was not happy that week! 😠
Love this! It will sell quick.
That thing sounded wicked.
So beautiful.
Very cool!!!!!!!!!!
I got a 68 Four Door Satellite, got a 318 that needs rebuilt. This video convinced me to find a 383 for it. My dad has a few spare big block auto transmissions that I could use.
My only question is: what color should I do? Its a dark green, and some panels have been repainted a slightly wrong green by previous owners. I could stay with a green, or go with a whole new color, but I want to keep the color period correct 1968. I am tempted to do F8 Green, I think that color is year correct.
I notice when your start from the front of the car to the back your referring to the quarter panel as a fender
Mopar at Ole' Maple Motors!
Love it to much cash for me
For me also but still love looking at the diversity of their vehicle selection it’s really cool.
Love the channel , thanks for sharing.
Thank you
Pitting ? Are you forgetting this Mopar is 52 years old ?
I hope you realize that you have the coolest job in the world :)
Value priced!👍
Nice Beep Beep roadrunner 👍
2:52... That's what she said!
That console is from cuda/challenger.
mopar p0rn...that is a slick ride..one of the best lookin hotwheels in the box :)
Oh how cool
Automatic...To be entrusted with these cars is an awesome and privaliged responsibility...
I love and own a 69 roadrunner, but I wouldn't give 36k for this, its nice but too many little nickle and dime things wrong .
Why would they fill the side reflectors??? Too much not right on this rig.
I took the side marker lights off both of my 68 Camaros and my 76 Camaro. Just personal taste.
Cara esse carro é muito bonito Very Nice car wow
That is one tough looking car
Nice 👌
Cool
Nick the turn sig is outside on fender top edge not on dash
It was both on my 68 RR
You guys ever get any old Jeep Wrangler YJs or TJs ?
Yes and two weeks from now it will be on the channel
When you drove over the camera, I could smell that car...too many hours laying under these mopar as a younger man. They all run bad when they are cold, the hesitation is something that they do, you have to take off with little gas pedal pumps to get the burnie. I'll still take a thermoquad over a quadrajet anyday ;)
so is she the real deal and not a clone .you had me scared Nick with the tailgater..Lol i would have jammed my brakes.. with another car of course ..shes got a great sound anyway...
They are all Belvederes. Just different trim, and drivetrains.
yea but some were born roadrunners with plate numbers verifying it..
Parts just slapped on by an hourly line worker. The VIN shows price class. First digit R is for Belvedere.
so are they all r code say like a gtx..
First digit is R on all Plymouth intermediates in ‘69. The second digit is price class. The GTX is S.
This RR looks so nice. Luv sleek look of it & wheels. Very clean. Sounds good. Luv to have this. No horn. Do wipers work? Is it supposed to have chrome around fender wells? Some trunk rust. Nick has very nice classics.
Worth 10000 less no beep beep
This was a great vcarar when first made the 383 had plenty of power n handled bit better cuz engine was liighter
Center console is not correct. It's from a challenger.
#RPMACT
Some one stole the horn its missing 🤔
What the VIN?
That's a 72 or later center console
A 383 is mean I had a 69 super Bee with 383 four speed Hurst bad to the Bone
What caused the RR to rise in price? Used to be reasonable price
The whole market has skyrocketed, they have been going up for years. The last two years classic cars have exploded in price. We like to keep the price down but we are having to pay more for the cars now. We do not have a large markup here. Just make a little and move on, still keeping us below the national average on our inventory. Thank you
Time and they are becoming more scarce.
I love the starter sound on the Mopars it's I think I can I think I can Roar
looked like oil pan was leaking.
👍😎😎😎
Nick - What is the car titled as? I think you have a moral/ethical responsibility to confirm and identify what's going on with this car, maybe even a legal responsibility. This is truly a "Frankenstein" car, with parts from several (many?) other cars. A loose fender tag doesn't mean anything if you can't confirm the VIN on the tag with the VIN located at several other locations in/on the car - motor, transmission, trunk, etc.
it is a road runner , vin number on my website.
Have you ever owned an older hotrod? Do only rich people with unlimited income and disposable income own these muscle cars and hotrods? NO. A lot of hotrodders are lower income blue collar workers that spend their hard earned, hard to come by money on these things. This was especially true in the late 70s and the 80s. They got bent and fixed and changed and upgraded with all kinds of parts. To suit the current owner. Hell I put 70 Chevelle SS seats in my 69 427 Impala Custom and 64 Galaxie XL bucket seats in my 66 Chevy 2. That's the fun of a hot rod. These are not perfectly restored or original show queens being shown at a country club.
looking for a 4 speed mopar
I have had a lot of these wish you would go slower for pictures of the under neath floor looking a problem
You could go to settings and slow down the video speed...or pause.
What happened to the sidelights?
68 had round side marker lights, 69 was simple rectangular reflectors which are missing.
69 440, road runner, good times 👍👍🖕
Why your horns never work?😂
Get more impalas boss!
Bottom line, how much?
Nick I love all your videos but the one thing you do that drives me nuts?!?!?!
On all automatics you use both feet. 🙈🙈🙈
My step-dad drove that way and always made me seasick.
😂😨😂
A consoles out of a 70 71 Challenger
Mine was a 4 speed. Got to where I went late at night to put gas in it beacause it took 2,hours at the gas station because everyone stopping to look and talk to me about it. At first it was ok but got old quick
I want it
Beep beep.
Wrong console. Wrong mirrors.
You're videos
You're videos are like porn for classic car lovers👍
Nick did you say you can't stand it you can't stand behind it
I don't see no marker lights inside of that roadrunners tell you if it's a 69 or 68 68 as the round side marker lights and 69 has the square or rectangular marker lights on their neck no side marker lights what up with that
Needed one more comment to make 69.
If you see what we see next and what happens if you don't look at it come back
thing is mint..wish I was rich
Way too much money for that car it’s nothing special, I say around 25,000 be about right even that’s a little high , car isn’t perfect!
I say usually if it don't work I'll take a hammer to it and if that don't work I'll use a bigger Hammer to it come back
automatic road runner.....Outch
My dad had an automatic Super Bee. They do exist. Manuals are fun to drive but way overrated. Driven quite a few myself.
69 440, road runner, good times 👍👍🖕
