Nice fight! Such patience. I never did complete my RL1 run - i got to Radagon and Melania and ran out of steam... I got discouraged by the prospect of learning to dodge that flurry of blades at level 1...
Thank you! I had a similar experience running out of steam after the Fire Giant, but I made myself complete Malenia and Radagon in the same night on my first run. I found both equally frustrating the first time, but I had taken so long on my casual playthrough that people were already solving how to dodge those crazy attacks, and I stubbornly didn't want to use techniques that I wasn't going to figure out for myself. I had mostly the same mentally now, so I wanted to push the fight as far as I could while using a more natural-looking approach to the Waterfowl Dance. I think some variation of this strategy makes the fight a lot more accessible.
I love the jump attack flourish at the end of phase 1. Really nice job bullying her into nothing more than a pancake. I was just telling Xerieh you and him are the only two at this point I care to see Malenia kills from. This is a fine example of why.
Thanks so much man. I gotta say, Xerieh was showing me what he's working on earlier, and whatever he does is going to be crisp as an apple when he's done. The jump attack flourish is fun when I have to deal with that HP bug at the end of phase 1. It looks like I'm trying to lop her head off lol. I started doing that because I had actually missed with a normal R1 in the same situation, so I didn't want to whiff again. I didn't think I would ever like this boss at all, but this type of strat elevates the fight for me. I might even try a harder kill, but only if it involves pancakes. 😂
@Dargonsouls Lmao awesome man. Yea Xerieh is pretty much taking my old strat a bit further which is really cool to see. I feel like parrying and pressure with r1s is completely underutilized and misunderstood. He's doing it justice. Really cool to see you put a spin on it with some clean spacing and style.
Yeah I agree. Unless the DLC adds an even better skill that knocks her down longer, I think this will remain the best. It's bizarre since there are so many viable options in this game for level 1, and other than the cheesy stuff like dual Bandit's Curved Swords w/Seppuku, Envoy's Long Horn, etc., there isn't much of a clear meta when compared to previous games.
@@poison_swamp I forgot to reply to this lol. I gained some following in Tolomeo's challenge running circle after the Bloodborne DLC, which I helped develop some strats for, but the stuff the newer players are doing is insane. With more people playing, they don't leave any stone unturned, so the strats they come up with are incredible. I've been doing these runs since I was inspired by the OGs like Emarrel and Vageta311, and it's nice to stick to these games even as new players come and go.
She cancels that attack sometimes if you happen to be behind her or out of range. I didn't have a good counter for it so I just waited for the next attack.
okay but why are you using cheat engine... this gameplay is too good... its impossible
This fight is so scripted it could be an autohotkey script sometimes. Good to see you around T dawg.
Holy shit, the legend himself is in the comments section! 😳
hahaha this ash of war is so disrespectful. The expresion of middle finger.
Cool fight as usual 🤜🤛
Yeah, I really didn't like Malenia like other players seem to, so I had to give her the rude treatment lol

Very patience and cold blood . Subbed
Savage! Well done.

this was so weird for me since it was exactly how I fought her lol. I believe the almighty giant hunt is the best way to beat her in this game

Miyazaki put that weapon art in the game for casual players like me
@sinefine7726nah bro Aly is a way better player than me, you should watch their stuff
nice final hit :)
Thanks, it's always fun to finish her with the _one thousand years of death_ 😅
@@Dargonsouls Yeah, Kakashi would be so glad of the internet community :D
you are incredible
Thank you so much. I try to do my best and always improve.
Nice
Thanks man. I really like your content.
@@DargonsoulsSame with yours! I see, you are very old player. One of the first challenge runners probably. Mad respect.

Invalid you used buffs and your weapon was upgraded😢
I agree
No point blank Waterfowl dodge. Reported/10
Casual gamers walked so that I could run
Admittedly, it's easy to beat her with that Ash of War.
Oh, absolutely. I'm very casual-minded when it comes to this boss lol.
Damnnnn that looked so easy 😭😭😭
This strat makes the fight so cake, I gotta thank the people who came up with the idea to use Giant Hunt on her in the first place 🙏
@@Dargonsouls yh! i haven't tried that against her, so i can imagine it'd be even better with greatsword in a build 🤤
gg, Giant Hunt is really insane 🖤
Yeah, Giant Hunt is really busted, and I'm so glad that it is lol. It's definitely the most fun strat for her imo.
what is happening here? 2:14
