This anime is pretty close to my heart, it's not a story driven one tho, but a character driven one with a futuristic setting. Some songs like 'the loneliest girl' which grips my heart to the end, 'Give you the world' reminds me of my loved ones, 'Light a fire' inspires me and 'Mother' is just a fantastic song with almost every singer in the anime coming together to sing it.
I wished there were more people to talk about this show.
Btw they almost made a real Instagram account and uploaded pictures every week when the episode came out, It was pretty sweet.

I love this show. As Angela were introduced I was hating her to all he... ck but after I while I realized that she was not so bad, she has her own issues. Imo I think she is a third protagonist more than an antagonist. She might be a rival to Carol and Tuesday but NOT an enemy. No, I think the true enemy in this show is Tuesday's political mother, we have probably not seen the last of her. Just guessing though.

This deep dive just ripped into my soul... I actually spent the better part of my youth learning and singing opera and planned on making it my life... Until I had my stroke at 18 and lost my ability to form words. Long story short, it crushed my dreams and hopes and while after YEARS of speech therapy, I can speak not but it's difficult and I'm permanently disabled so... But I know that desire to so badly jump in and sing and belt out with everything in me... Thanks for sharing😥❤

I was on the fence for this show but you have severely pushed me over the edge to watch it I love Watanabe but I don't love all his works but this is the kind of show I like to watch in terms of subject matter I find most anime that have anything to do with music just pique my interest and keep it there and the future setting along with how the music industry has become so prepackaged is truly fascinating gonna dive head first into this one and that scene you did where you played along with Carole and Tuesday with your own instruments hit me so hard! I personally loved this anime and how the story and characters were handled.
As a creative myself (graphic artist, illustrator and dancer) you hit so many points that resonated deeply with my own journey: that fear of failure, that rush of trying something new, doing something for the love of doing it and not just for fame or monetary gain.
I'm often at war with myself trying to find the balance between doing things I'm passionate about, things that make me happy and the responsibility of bills and the like.
I couldn't quite articulate what it was about this anime that I connected to but there was just a realness to it. I really enjoy your in depth reviews!

1:10 When I heard that quote I ended up quoting Johnny from The Outsiders. TT__TT "Stay gold, Ponyboy. Stay gold." TT__TT
And yeah! This anime has definitely resonated with me because not too long ago, I felt like I had hit rock bottom in my life, but was starting to climb out of it, so when this anime came out, I loved it because of the relevance it had with me at the time. I've just signed up for screenwriting class, I was learning how to find structure in my life, then came this anime. It really has aired at the right place and at the right time for me.

I also agree with you on not wanting to do what is considered popular and giving in to what works in the industry. Sure it helps pay and gets attention, but it has no soul, no heart.

Kids on a Slope is good, but honestly it’s not really worth doing a video on. The actual story is pretty bland. What makes the anime good is the animation/music.
In my opinion I think Carole and Tuesday tell sa much better story about music and friendships better than Kids on a Slope.
