      If you Google Fibromyalgia Relief Dr Ken Berry, he has a video on how to eliminate the symptoms and chronic pain of Fibromyalgia naturally. I just read some of the comments beneath his video and there are many who confirm that they have been delivered from years of chronic pain following this method. Hope it helps your friend.

    I had a Dr recommend horse tail as part of treatment to help vein issues in my legs. Is supposed to help repair and strengthen veins therefore reducing pain after having a DVT. That along with pinebark.

      @@DonnaMM6361 yes. I took 1000mg of each in capsule form and it helped. After six months on a blood thinner for the DVT I started 1000 Nattokinaise as well and the three have helped tremendously. It was a vein doctor (MD) who told me about these. If you are on insulin you can't take these.

    I’ve never seen this growing here, but I’ll have to double check and see. I was listening while I was using the vacuum sealer for my diced potatoes (they stayed white! YAY!) and was wondering what is going on with my chickens- they don’t sound like that! 🤣 It was your chickens! I’m listening for the second time now to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Thanks Heidi! Many Blessings!!

    I used to have tea with nettles and horsetail every day. After a few years, i got canker sores on my tongue every day so i stopped. (I drink tea all day until dinner.) I’ve had two bouts of alopecia and it did help. I think i’ll go back to it without the nettles to see if that helps. Getting older means my hair is thinning where i lost it before. Thanks for the reminder, Heidi!

      To strengthen, beautify hair and skin. Try hydrangea leaf tea. Rinse your hair with it and your face in it. I don't drink it....but my hair is glassy shiny now. Also don't ever use store hair products. Wash with rye water and use also a rosemary vinegar to rinse. Look up rye shampoo diy

    I’m beyond relieved to find this information. I have it in my front and back garden (I’m in Manchester) and just wanted to be rid of it. Having done a bit of internet searching, I felt very defeated after reading a blog saying that it’s to be avoided at all cost and not to put it in your compost etc; - which I had already started doing. The blog made it seem like I either needed to dig up my entire garden to get rid of the tap root that runs deep or have a company come in and basically kill my soil with chemicals. I kept thinking there must be some way I can use this plant. Finding this video is an absolute blessing. Thank you so much. If you have any videos showing the things you make that would be great to get some How-to vids. ❤

    My phone app identified the horsetail growing here as ‘giant horsetail’ (E. telmateia). It’s along the areas of the spring and looks like yours. My horses have been eating it for years so I’m assuming it’s not toxic (cross section of the stem resembles E. arvense) but I’m hoping it has medicinal benefits like the field horsetail. The more I think I know the more I realize I don’t!

      I've got a ton of it. I put a bunch in the compost, some compost tea. I dehydrated a bunch. I'm now looking at making a ducoction for the garden.
      I read though that you're supposed to pick it young before the fronds open all the way. The most silica content or something. Do u think that matters much? I waited too long apparently. I found some new shoots which I took indoors and put in the dehydrator for using in cosmetics or internally.
      Omg I have connective tissue problems.

    You often mentioned that you live in a hot humid climate. As do I. Florida.
    Living off grid. How do you deal with the humidity, mildew and mold in your home?
    I cook in an outdoor kitchen. Mold and mildew is a constant problem.
    What do you think? TIA.

    • @RainCountryHomestead
      @RainCountryHomestead  Рік тому +3

      You must have me confused with someone else, we do not live in a hot climate. It is humid in summer though because it is a very wet climate but cool most of the year. We get very few real hot days. We get at a low annual average of 120" rainfall which is far most than most places and even 3 times more than Seattle (thus my channel name). However, yes, mold and mildew are a problem, some years more than others but usually just in the bathroom though it can often affect other areas. Having wood heat, which is very drying, helps prevent it through most of the home.

Also, how did you initially learn all of this? Did you self-educate or did you go to an herbal school/class? Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us.

      I am self taught in that I do all my own research for each herb and am always learning, always. Here is a video I did on how to do your own research: ua-cam.com/video/59r48nUrC90/v-deo.html
      And here is also one where I talk about various books, the first part is about herbal books I have: ua-cam.com/video/kNA5srbQAuQ/v-deo.html

      While I have not looked into each specific plant, usually such seeds are edible. Always a good idea to look into it for certain for yourself though

      I would assume like any plant that it produces seed but cannot tell you where you could buy some. Etsy is usually where one is most likely find seeds that would not normally be sold in nurseries

    I finally found some horsetail. Its in my dehydrator as we speak. I just went and looked with a magnifying glass but can't tell which pattern it has. There were no leaves on it. Just the green stalk. Are there other ways to tell the difference? I certainly don't want to use the toxic one. Thank u so much for your excellent info.

    • @RainCountryHomestead
      @RainCountryHomestead  Рік тому

      There are other ways you can tell by looking at the outside of the stem and so on. I personally found looking down the interior cross section the easiest but you can always look it up and see photos showing more differences though it can be hard to make any of them out once it is dried so it is best to go find the fresh plant again for reference

    What is your opinion of store bought supplements that have small amounts of horsetail would it be safe to use daily or would you still recommend one week on, one week off

    • @RainCountryHomestead
      @RainCountryHomestead  Рік тому +1

      I believe they can have their place but only if one is getting them in capsule form from a quality company. Never tablets.

    Horsetail is very invasive. I can attest to this. My Horsetail is still growing and I'm wondering if I can still gather it at this time of year? I've done tons of research found is that Spring is the best, but I've also seen where you can gather it anytime. I value your opinion Heidi; so I am confused.

    If you make the honey/syrup tincture instead of alcohol, how much of that would you take daily? I’m VERY new and this video was amazing and will be subscribing. Thank you! I hope you get to answer this for me!😊

      It really depends on the person and their needs. I do not take tinctures daily, only as needed and horsetail is not something I would ever take on a regular, daily basis, but only as needed

      No one is able to find dried nasturtium leaf, for some reason it is a product that is not sold anywhere, people have to grow and dry their own or look for another option for antibiotics as I list off in this video: ua-cam.com/video/BMIuJb06PcU/v-deo.html

    Hi! Thank you for taking the time to upload this, just wanted to ask you, is it still effective if you use it fresh, boil it in some water and use it as a hair rinse? Or does it have to be dried or infused in an oil ?

    Silly question: you would NOT dry the horse tail to make an infusion or tincture, right? Or can you do both? I have a lot of horse tail now and would love to be able to dry and store it until I have the time to do something with it

    • @RainCountryHomestead

      Herbs do not necessarily need to be dried to make a tincture though I usually do. If you are infusing in oil, then yes, they need to be dried

    Hello 🙋‍♀️ Could I ask you a question please? My cat is very interessed in eating horsetail (Equisetum arvens) but I don't allow her to do so, because I have'nt yet succeeded in finding any information about if it could be toxic to cats. Would you know anything about this? Have a nice day🦋 Happy thoughts from Denmark 🇩🇰

      All you have to do to find out such information is put into your browser "Is Horsetail (or any other herb you are trying to find information on) safe for cats?" I did this and found many links to the affirmative but in limited amounts and I will put a couple here:

    I ordered dried horsetail on etsy for tea. It is very brown. All of the info I have seen doesn’t show the dried horsetail being so brown. I am worried it is bad? When you dry yours does it turn all brown?

    • @RainCountryHomestead

      Mine stays fairly green but green herbs will turn brown if dried at too high of a heat or if they have been sitting for a long time. This not not necessarily mean they are bad
