This was really interesting I follow several gardening people in the Uk some who talk about the weed horsetail and the problems they gave ridding the vegetables beds if it. I’d never heard of it before had no idea what they were talking about now I do. I’ll recommend they check this video maybe they too could use it benefits

Thank you Terri for another great, informative, helpful video. You really must write that book with all these recipes you share with us, recipes for medicinal remedies, homemade toiletries, homemade household products, etc. Not that you are not busy enough……. It shows what a kind, caring lady you are, devoted to your nature calling, always happy to share your knowledge with us, your viewers. But, I and I’m sure many of your viewers , would love to have a book with all these brilliant, helpful recipes you share with us through your videos . I proudly would have it on my bookshelf and read it with passion, as I do with the other 2 books. Anyway, thank you Terri . And thank you to your Lol for allowing us to see the adorable dogs and cat, which are always the stars of the video. ❤️

I remember reading an interpretive sign Coloma where gold was first discovered in CA. The gold miners used horsetail for cleaning their pots & dishes! Also, I remember reading the high silica content might be a problem for folks with kidney problems. Thank you for sharing your lovely home & family of furry friends and delightful music :-) My heart feels lighter after I've viewed one of your lessons.

I'm living in a strange place right now. But I went for a walk before Beltane. I am in the US so it's 2:20 in the morning, the morning of the first. So on my walk I saw at least 20 herbs that are so beneficial! But the city sprays the trail. I have no way of knowing because it takes about four days for things to die down. And there's nobody to answer the question whether it's been sprayed or not. It's so sad because I have needs for the herbs there. There is so much food that I can drive for my rescue guinea pigs! I put it in a paper bag and clip it to the fan and let it cold dry into herbal hay and grass hay! When I come out of the little room with the fan they week very loud because they know that's where mamas hey comes from.. I saw horsetail for the first time today, and I was talking about making tea with it for my hair skin and nails. And here you are showing me something I should remember. Thank you very much for your video and I must go over picking tomorrow because I asked 3 people if I could come up by their yard to get the weeds AKA medicine and herbs. And they assured me that nobody has sprayed yet this year so I'm going to cross my fingers. What I will do is pick it all. Then I will watch the trail for the next 4 days and see how things turned out. That way I will know for sure that nothing was sprayed. Wish me the energy to get there I have a lot to do tomorrow. But I feel like if I wait the herbs will get too far along. And I'm afraid that I won't beat the sprayers. I can't believe I still have to mention that we spray things in the US.

lovely recipe, avoid using horsetail if you are a smoker, as it interacts with nicotine, avoid if pregnant and breastfeeding, people with low thiamine levels (alcoholics) , can lead to lowering of Vit B1, for outward use, it works wonderful as a balm to help heal skin and for those with joint problems, soaked in oil it is wonderful for hair

I'm going to try this recipe. I make it with diatomaceous earth, coconut oil, calcium powder, essential oil (I know some do not want to ingest). Horsetail spray with DMSO from Healing With DMSO book is regrowing hair!! Check it out if you're interested, the book is right up your alley. Also from the information is that adding DMSO to face cream recipes increases the effects of the ingredients.

Hi Teri, Horse Tail. That reminds me of a story my mother and aunt shared with me about their mother and her sisters (Irish lasses). They told my mother and aunt when they were little girls (1930' that if you put a hair from a horses tail into a clear glass jar full of water that within a week it would turn into a snake. Well, being curious and inquisitive little girls they were, they went to the barn, found a horse tail hair and proceeded with this fantastic experiment. They said they checked every day to see what kind of a snake this horses tail would produce. I'm sure you know how this story will end. Yes, after two weeks they realized they had been scammed. OR, did my grandmother and her sisters really believed this? My question to you is, is this an Irish trick adults play on kids or do the old-timers believe this lore? We all got a good laugh anyway it turns.

Hello! Thanks so much for this recipe. I always look forward to your videos. Could you use dried, crushed peppermint leaves rather than the peppermint oil? I hope you have a lovely week.

❤ there's actually two varieties of what she has here is meadow horse tail there's also a pond loving horse tail that's used to make fermented teas that also has extreme cleaning properties when you ferment it

I’m always looking for useful ways to use the numerous “weeds” on my property so really appreciate this. We have the reed variety of horsetail but I imagine the therapeutic benefits of all types are similar. My horses eat it while grazing and I’m wondering if it has to do with their need for selenium as the soil in this part of Oregon is deficient in that vital mineral. Thank you for your much appreciated videos!

Hey Witch of the Wildwoods - not every Horsetail is safe for humans to take or horses so please check the variety in your area before using. xx

@@DanusIrishHerbGarden thank you. The field horsetail here is actually toxic to livestock and cautioned against for people with renal disease. Not sure why the horses are drawn to it but my goats avoided it. I’ve read that the young shoots can be cooked and eaten like asparagus, and besides it’s diuretic properties it can also be used as a treatment for osteoporosis due to the silicon it contains. I’ve made tea and tinctured it in the past but will definitely try the toothpaste now ;)

    Grand toothpaste !
I would do ' Oil Pulling' with this mixture - making sure I grind the Horsetail completely to powder.

@@DanusIrishHerbGarden I generally brush my teeth with the toothpaste I make, and then do the 'Oil Pulling' for a minute or two.
