All of the homunculous deaths were ironic:
Wrath died a peaceful death
Gluttony was eaten
Pride died due to throwing away it's pride
Sloth died while actually putting in some effort for once and going full speed.
Lust died to someone protecting their loved one (never actually said but strongly implied)
Greed died while being selfless and obtaining the one thing he truly wanted desiring nothing more
Envy was probably the least ironic as it died due to being confronted with the truth of it's envy
Nabi I love how that was all done on purpose by the author, how much thought she put into each character and their development all the way to their deaths, going as far as to make the deaths not only be ironic but also fit, which many people who try to kill ironically usually fail to make it fit as well. Well done author, well done

Pride was the shadow with eyes with the Selim Bradley body has his container/vessel. The vessel was an artificial human body which is essentially what a Homunculus is. Now Edward destroyed the shadow being of Pride but let the vessel be reborn into to that fetus as Selim Bradley, having its own life with zero memories of being Pride’s container
I don't know if Selim was more than just a public identity ... All the homonculi had a body, it's just part of them ; Pride's body is probably like Father's leather bag, a container without his own will.
I prefer to see the foetus as Pride with a single soul left inside (since we see him grow in episode 64) and with only that single soul, he probably can't use his previous abilities and so isn't a threat anymore.
Unlike what Marketa said, being Pride doesn't necessarily make him evil and it doesn't work the same way as Envy. Envy is a bad emotion, I can't see any situation where it could knowingly lead to a good consequence. And Envy is frustrating because whatever people do, they'll forever feel the dissatisfaction of jealousy ; so they have no reason to do good things. But Pride is different, it is more like a neutral emotion which doesn't prevent people to be fulfilled. People can be proud of being good persons or act in a decent way.
I think that Pride is redeemable. In his last thoughts, when Ed is crushing him, he sees Mrs Bradley and Wrath, not Father. Despite all he said, he enjoyed the time acting like a normal family more than anything else - he enjoyed his human part more than his homonculus one.

You could argue that every deadly sin isn’t inherently bad, including envy.
Many of our impulses and decisions are brought about by, or at the very least, influenced by the Seven. Some may seem outright selfish or sinful, while others more acceptable simply because they produce results that society deems virtuous, despite being driven by one of the seven. But wrath can be tempered into passion or determination, pride may lead to fulfillment or gratification, lust is what we draw upon for our sensual and sexual needs, and envy, in moderation, makes us yearn for more by seeing the good fortune or positive traits others have. A childless parent may end up wanting to have kids by seeing and envying the joy of a family blessed with one. A student might strive to do better because his peers are being rewarded for their excellent performance. A lover, out of a tinge of jealousy from seeing their partner receiving attention from others, can learn to appreciate their relationship more.
Having too much of any one of these “sins” will lead to immorality, but when kept in check, are actually what allows us to be human. This is why Father lost his completely when he separated these emotions from himself, while Greed, Envy and the others were more human at the time of their deaths than he ever was.

A better way of explaining it is that Edward destroyed the shadow being of Pride but let the vessel be reborn to that fetus as Selim Bradley, having its own life with zero memories of the being Pride’s container

When Pride died, _Selim_ was born. In a way. Also, notice that the last thing he thought of was Wrath and his wife, _not_ Father. It implies that deep down, Pride knew Father didn't care about him and that the pretend family he had with Wrath, who's actually his younger brother was more real to him.
Also, in spite of Wrath's disdain for humans, they are the only reason his life had any real joy and surprise. Everything had been planned out _for_ him. He even implied once that he'd be willing to step down as Fuhrer, but Pride made it clear Bradley isn't _allowed_ to go off script. His disdain for the concept of "God" is ironic because he once told Ishvalans to use their own hands to strike him down, not "God's." Yes, the sun, which can be interpreted as a symbol of god did blind and distract him, but it was Scar's own hand that ultimately finished him.

Bradley is definitely my favourite character in this series. He has so much subtle development & build up.
The contradiction of Bradley is that he is the cold and focus fury. Finally leaving fully content.
He is my #1 most badass character followed by,

#3 The Rail Tracer from Baccano!!

Every second wrath is on screen it is entertaining, that's not something many characters can say. And yes baccano is probably the most underrated anime of all time, considering how truly excellent it is despite it's lack of comparative popularity

He better. He was hating on him the entire time on that he wasn’t doing enough when in reality he was doing everything imaginable
Pride was filled with Father's pride. Ed burned that out of him - that controlling persona - so now he's just a baby - no more excess of pride, which is what drove him to being "evil." The baby is just a baby - even with some of the memories, he won't have the same personality now. He just has the original personality that baby had to begin with.

@@sinancothebest Pride's stone was pretty much tapped out - that's why his body was crumbling and he tried to steal Ed's. I doubt he's got anything much left and none of the shadow abilities of Pride.
King Bradley was a beast to the very end.

13:55 when the question of killing a homunculus comes up I always think about a quote form envy when considering the homunculus humanity. "You're desperate to see these things as human because you wanna believe that your brother still retains his humanity. Would you hesitate to throw a bundle of logs onto a fire...because you pitied the tree they came from? These souls can never go back to being human. You have to use logic if you are to determine what a human is. Don't let your emotions decide." I love this show can bring up the interesting questing of what is it to be human.

Killing could be too far but long term or life long confinment could be fair.

I usually never get triggered, everyone enjoys these shows in their own way, who cares if they forget a few names and details as long as they enjoy it, I knew what I signed up for when I started watching their reactions to this series.. but Marketa telling Bradley to shut up did the job, you win, I got triggered.
Yeah that was pretty annoying. You can react however you want, I guess, but that's the first time I've everyone tell Bradley to shut up. Even if you dislike the character, at least let the scene play out

It's funny how chris was like there fathers a deadbeat ass in the beginning of the series and they all talked about how he's lazy and stuff but now they see the truth 😂
Edward Elric doesn't kill. That's the "lesson" Kimblee learnt from Ed, this is what he meant when he said "if you think that, you don't know Edward Elric". He didn't kill Pride. And I mean, you could even say that Ed's mercy gave Selim and his mother a second chance.

I guess God was tired of Wrath's blasphemy and decided to punish him for his malevolence by saving Scar. With the sun shone bright in his eye he became blind for the first time. And in that blindness he became humbled and illuminated to the beauty in his humanity.

She has a point in regards to not remembering. It's rebirth. If it's a human brain and a human baby, it doesn't have the hardware to remember 200 years of training.
The computer just got reformated.
But it does leave it open ended because the philosopher stone could still be the core and then all bets are off.
But that's the beauty of it. The mom doesn't care. Did Hitler or Stalin's mom love them? I'd say most likely. Would a mom give up when given another chance? Did she know what her husband was but love him anyway?

Kimblee's scene was my favorite
7:25 I can never get enough of this scene, the moment where you thought the monster is finally done for only for it to seemingly kill the hero out of nowhere.
Dying in battle was the only choice Bradley could make for himself. And even then it wasn't much of a choice. Bradley had a shit life and nobody recognizes that, never having chosen a single thing for himself in his life. Unlike the other homunculus he was human, and yet unlike them who lived with one track minds and were allowed to indulge in the sin they embodied. He had rage he was not allowed to act upon from Father forced into him and he was treated like more of a machine than the others despite having been human.

Funny enough Pride's pride led to his downfall more than once. He consumed Kimblee during his dying moments to gain more power and now it came back to bite him hard. This is why Kimblee is an amazing antagonist. He was content with sitting on the sidelines, but intervened when Pride discarded his one character trait. He has no appreciation for those who abandon their principles.
comon, why are you hating on ma boi the führer, you gotta admit it, he is the most badass and one of the most well written characters in this show.

i think the embryo pride is kinda like a self preservation. remembering how you were born before everything went to sideways. the envy parts is, he killed himself after being recognized which tells me how jealousy ends. kinda like being shit, doing shit against people or things you' jealous about because you're lacking. then such ends after your envy is made known and taken in by the very thing you were jealous about which is actually very damaging on your pride being born that way.

First Explanation, Father waited until the Eclipse because the eclipse was the alchemical symbol for God
No-one except everyone in the center, that includes the Sacrifices, because only Father - a creature that looks so far down on Humans - would consider keeping five humans alive so he could acquire god a 'sacrifice'
That is your Final Form, Father has 'acquired' God, which means that God is within him, but while he can use its power, he's still using his stone to power these abilities, it's like when you're at the sweets aisle but you only have a certain amount of money, you can buy next to anything but you need to spend the money to get it
Hohenheim though with one hell of a countermeasure, it's not a full excuse, but you can see why Hohenheim was away for so long having to plot his blood in certain points to the exact circumference of the moon's fucking shadow
Pause for the cry before you sigh in relief
Hohenheim gets a Family Kamehameha moment kinda, but then we move to Scar vs Bradley
And DEAR GOD! Bradley is a hardcore motherfucker, he needed full on divine intervention to barely lose against Scar when already half dead
So Finally Dies Wrath...dying content in peace and dying a human's death
Scar's circle takes effect, the Reason Father could 'turn off' the alchemy was because they were not using Tectonic Energy, he had spread his Philosopher's Stone under the entire country, and Alchemists were using the energy from the stone's movement rather than tectonics, Scar's Brother being an MVP and making a circle to nullify this so everyone can use Tectonic Energy again
While the sacrifices follow Father, Ed fights Pride alone to do the 'First Son Battle', but the moment Pride fears for his life and tries to steal Ed's body, the unlikeliest of interferences happens
Ed's mercy pays off big time, had he let Kimblee die he'd be dead by now, and for once, Kimblee being a sociopath worked out for him, farewell you magnificent fedora-wearing psycho
Pride might not be dead, but so ends the Homunculus Pride; it gave up its pride for survival to become human, so Ed made him so, just a small child (accurate representation of a homunculus outside of its container) crying for its mother, he won't remember being evil. The nodes are just a common look for pure homunculi.
No homunculus can learn Alchemy alone, they are artificial creatures
Fun Fact: Ed's alchemy notes are so encrypted that not even Al can decipher them
Lust learned that there are humans who will fight to protect things they cherish
Yeah, as much as Kimblee was a psycho, he stuck to his guns, and he respected those who stuck to their beliefs
Father wanted to be Perfect, 'I told you I intended on becoming a perfect being'

Pride is a very different homunculi than envy. Envy’s philosophers stone was inside his tiny weird green slug body, so all he needed to revert to his normal self was a vessel. Pride on the other hand; doesn’t have a stone, so all his souls just run around all over the place within his container/body. Mixed in with all the thousands of souls is his real soul; the one Edward pulled out. So he would NOT share any of his memories or personally as the homunculus pride.
So he will just be a regular kid y’all....
