Such a fantastic way to reuse scrap wood, left over paints, and plastic containers, (as long as the plastic is food grade/safe). Those carrots looked very happy!
I love the idea of transplanting the carrot rather than over seeding and then thinning. Much better use of precious seed

What is interesting is that you germinate the seeds and transplant the seedlings. Most carrot seed packages preach ‘direct sowing because carrots don’t like their roots disturbed.’ Your method contradicts their directions and you prove that your way works. I like the use of the lid to germinate many seedlings and easily transplant them. Brilliant!
I don’t know where to find containers like yours but I think 5 gallon buckets would work and I get them free. It looks like they could be cut in half, using a tight-fitting lid on the upper half to form the bottom. This way you’d get two planters from each bucket.
