It is amazing Khenpo understood what the guy was saying without translation from the translator. He could immediately reply in Tibetan after the guy finished.
Khenpo is educated in a Western Univ in post graduate ( prob in Australia if I still remember rightly) .So he is v well versed in English .Tq for sharing n Tashi Delek.
It's also traditional for Tibetan teachers to speak in Tibetan. But, in this case, it might be that Khenpo can express himself more accurately in Tibetan and trusts the translator to fill in the correct English grammar and technical jargon.
Great talk from Khenchen Rinpoche but seem like Professor David Presty is limited with his view so other professor must try and step forward of their knowledge of world view of science so that we the viewer can have more clear ideas on world view science in terms of causeiousness.
I bet scientist won't be able to prove 3 most fascinating things about Tibetan Buddhism. Which is Terma and Tertön tradition ( Khenpo already mentioned briefly here, about the treasure revealers). Then, Rainbow body and near death or death experiences. These are the greatest blessing of our most precious Master, Guru Padmasambhava ( Guru Rinpoche in Tibetan). The Tibetan book of dead was a Terma written from our Guru Rinpoche and later revealed by the Tertön.
"Why not study the mind, with the mind?" Instead of traditional approaches of Science, studying the mind with probes, various instruments, chemically, physiologically, biologically, why not use one's own mind to observe their own mind? Understanding the Buddhist perspective of the essence of mind, there is actually a "control" in observing the mind this way. The control is Buddha Nature, the same essence in every mind. If everyone is to follow the same instructions of instruction, it is possible to reach the same goal. As many Buddhist traditions have shown via a historical record of enlightened practitioners. Isn't that just like a scientific process? Controls with reproducible results

Headsets for speakers next time please, so they can hear translation at same time the other is speaking. It would be much more enjoyable for all.
One would think that this would be standard for Google.
Pls bring in Tibetan translation in Google translate
Thank you🙏

It appears that Talks at Google did not credit the translator which is a bit of a faux pas.

Excuse my ignorance, but what technology is being used to translate this dialogue ? Thank you.
I didn't catch the translators name, was she introduced? Why was the katag offered to Mr Presti and not Rinpoche?
Those were not only your consciousness 😊
