Possie Have done exactly as your video except I haven’t put the piggy back in just connecting the new fridge ando plug direct to the rear anderson on the ranger Still getting error 6 and resetting does nothing Runs fine on gas and 240 Its doing my head in Thanks for any help
Have you checked for voltage drop to the fridge, what grade wire did you use to run your anderson, with the caravan unplugged from the mains take your lower fridge vent off and check your supply and earth on the 12v side there will be 3 positive connections, one from your caravan battery, will be there whether or not your plugged into your anderson, this supplies power to your fridge display and lights inside, one will be when your trailer plug is plugged in and engine is running (D+) and one when your anderson is connected, this one needs to have good voltage at the fridge, you should see over 12volts at the fridge when its plugged in. Check voltage at the battery, then again at your socket, then again at your fridge, its a long run and with the wrong gauge wire you will drop voltage, this could be your issue. My caravan has an inline fuse on the drawer bar for the fridge also, check that's ok, you will know because there will be no voltage at your fridge connections behind your vent. Here's a basic wiring diagram which may help you dometicrvcentre.com.au/documentmanager/item/681 mine is wired as in figure 1
@@Richard-Tanya Thanks for that. So the original and factory anderson plug is wired thru the ignition I have just tried running it off a anderson plug connected directly from the battery (its for the esc) and works fine then i started the car and went into error again. I think it is the complicated ford ranger electronics Thank you very much for what u have given me
@ check that your power outlet between the rear seats (in the rear of the center consol) is working, if your ranger has been wired the same as mine it seems the D+ is taken from this circuit, if it doesn't work then the fuse is blown..
There is like an eco setting you need to use - its got a picture of a leaf? from memory. I was having the same issue last week with the red flashing error code 6 and it was doing my head in. Got hold of a manual and followed the instructions - yes I know its against blokes code to do that.
Hi Richard, ice just warched your video and im doing the same thing, just curious. Can the fridge pull amps from the battery given its off the Y piece anderson? Cheers Michael
Hi, thanks for commenting/watching, The fridge cannot pull amps from the caravan battery as the Y lead goes straight to my Victron 100/50 DC DC charger and there is no voltage on the input side until it is plugged into the car, however you do need to disconnect the anderson from the car when parking up for any overnight or extended stops as it will pull current from your car battery if left connected :)
You're kidding? You don't have a voltage sensing relay to prevent your car starting battery being drained by both your house battery and fridge! What a half-baked solution! You'll end up with more problems than you fixed!
My starting battery is charged via a dc/dc charger so there is no need for a voltage sensing relay, yes a voltage sensing relay would work well to stop having to disconnect when parked up, however I don't have a problem with simply unplugging and switching over to gas when parked up. When I finally run the second anderson to the back of the car I will change the plug colours and put it on a VSR, but this works just fine in the meantime :) Thanks for your input.
Great video mate very informative.
Thanks for watching :)

Be good if it had sound
check it's not muted, sound is fine :)
I have sound at the start when you’re near the water but when you are talking I get no sound
