I think analytical thinking and even simple maths go out the window when some people are faced with prison. And not even prison, but the shame of people knowing what they did. They forget that murder in the US carries a much longer sentence than stiffing their creditors (unless it's industrial scale stiffing like Bernie Madoff).

Dr. Grande, you bring out a point in this video that I often speak about with people in general. Your last point about people being all good or all bad rather than a more nuanced view. People can do things even in a moment that don't define their entire identity and existence. We all tend to understand this about ourselves in self evaluation, but we do not evaluate others in a nuanced way. We cut ourselves a lot of slack trying to understand an action while we cast aspersions on others for their bad acts. It is possible to be a good father but a bad husband. Divorce courts are full of these situations. No one really knows what happened on that tragic night. Both people had good and less desirable traits and a mixture of good and bad acts over a lifetime. Intentions are difficult to evaluate in another person. Great analysis, as usual, Dr. Grande.

“Dogs have been known to steal treats…what’s to keep them from stepping up to forgery?”

Excellent point on this idea that we tend to classify people on all good vs all bad category. I think when strong emotions are involved, this is quite common. Whenever we love someone dearly it’s very difficult to reconcile with the fact that they can do horrible things or when we truly dislike someone it’s also difficult to acknowledge that they can also have great qualities.

I think your theory on what may have happened is pretty on point but I think he may have retrieved the gun to threaten to commit suicide because she wasn't willing to lie for him on the stand. This is probably (for me) the most riveting case you've presented so far. At the start, I was sure that it was an accident, but the double vs. single action details convinced me. This gun couldn't have been fired accidentally in the course of a drunken brawl. But the family dynamics are even more interesting for me personally. I come from a vaguely similar family constellation. No alcohol and no open aggression involved, but a clinging, complaining, depressive, controlling, over protective wife and an angel of a father. (I've never watched an argument between my parents, mind you, but then, he was an angel. In any other respect he was far from a weakling, in fact, he had extraordinary physical and moral courage.) In my teens, and maybe even later (he died when I was 26), I often phantasized how it would be if she would "vanish" (no death wish involved, if memory serves) and I'd be alone with him. I'll never see 70 again by now and he would be 110 this year, but I know that I would have done exactly the same in such a situation as Bob's daughters, even if I'd known that he'd done it. My heart goes out (a phrase I rarely use) to those young women.

I'm quite sure most severely depressed people have written those notes. I know I have...many of them throughout my life. This is one of those cases that really drives home the "money doesn't buy happiness" saying.
Thanks for such a thorough analysis, Dr Grande.

8 to 10 lbs trigger pull weight in double action is the estimated range of weight for the S&W 357. Now that's an estimation and may not be the actual weight because the trigger weight can be modified to be easier or harder to pull depending on the owners preference. I'm sure the DA took and had it texted and if they did not bring the weight up during trial then you can bet your ass the trigger weight was modified to a way lighter pull than the estimated range. Another point I'm curious about is which person hands had gun powder residue on them and if both had it then use science and fact's to determine what the gun powder residue looks like when someone shoots themselves compared to being shot by someone and holding your hands in a defensive posture!

"I Didn't Do This, And I Don't Know Who Did Do It But I'm Sure Someone Did Do It Because Guns Don't Kill People, People Kill People": "Bob" Ward has been convicted twice in the manslaughter/second-degree trials concerning the Death of his wife, Diane Ward. In court their daughter Sarah pleaded for her father's freedom before Judge Marques. We must ask,"Freedom to do more killing?" Bob Ward is obviously intelligent, but not very bright. As a professional necrologist I will make the following claims: (1) Everyone eventually dies, but some people die as the result of guns being fired; (2) Bob Ward is not an expert with firearms but now that's he's been sentenced to life in prison he'll have time to catch up on how to use firearms properly; (3) Finally Death is having a wonderful time with all this information. Sometimes I'm thinking that human lives are merely entertaining episodes in Death's stories. Thanks for reading, enjoy what remains of your life.

    CHAPTER 11 MELTDOWN
Being a 'husband' is a lost art in most parts of the world.
The word 'husband' is also a verb.
A husband must maintain dignity and honour in front of his spouse.
    Bankruptcy is a shameful process.
The wife just wanted a home 🏡 with her beloved horses 🐎 .
To get your wife to commit perjury and fraud a a 'court of law ' is not only shameful but extremely stressful 😫.

As far as the daughters go, your first and last theories are likely correct. The bond between a parent and child is so strong that many cannot afford to break it. I believe for many the mind subconsciously protects itself by ignoring the obvious reality. I believe you had a video about being aware of when someone "needs" to believe something specific.
