Great video as always, interesting case and A+ commentary and analysis. I'd be very interested in seeing a video of your experiences and opinions about treating patients who suffer from depression because they have physical pain / other limiting physical conditions and how mental health relates to making these problems worse. Can treatment possibly help people with their physical symptoms, either by enduring them better or even being less sensitive to the pain in the first place and how much (that's obviously individual, but what's the scope there)? And your opinions about treating patients with chronic pain with mood stabilizers to "raise the pain tolerance" and when one of them doesn't work (I was told it's about 50/50) just giving them another one to try out. These medications commonly have pretty insufferable side effects for the first couple of weeks when starting to use them and it's very limiting for the duration. Having to go through the process over and over again is frustrating. I was also told that there's no way to get addicted to pain medications other than opioids if they do not relieve the pain, I would also like to see a video related to this kind of topic. I feel like people don't know what kind of medication they are using most of the time and what exactly they need to do if they want to stop using them.

I totally agree with your hypothesis on Dr. Grande's demeanor, or what might be called a demeaner in a video like this. He has a nice cadence to his voice that take the edge off the horror. I love seeing what's next every day!
Oh my gosh...Christopher Vaughn. This incident happened very close to where I lived. It was pretty shocking. I had heard that in the interrogation room they brought in a picture of his family. He immediately crumpled it up and threw it into the corner. Also one of his daughters was an avid reader. They found a Harry Potter book on her lap. They think the 2 girls were asleep when they died but the little boy who was the last to be shot was awakened. He had put his hands up as a defensive move:((
The near groin wound is the main thing that makes me wonder. It's very inline with what an angry wife could do. As to him not dying, the fact is that the average person way over estimates the lethality of hand guns, so it'd be real easy for her to think he was surely going to die after being shot twice and quickly moved to finish the children and herself. Statistically, most people shot survive, and it's almost a sure thing if the wound didn't kill you instantly.
@@JennyT101 Firing that many shots only takes seconds and he was just shot and likely disoriented even more because a firearm discharging in a car would be crazy loud and would blow his hearing out. His ears would be ringing for days. It could've been all over before he even realized what was happening. Who ever initiated the attack would have all the advantages. Not saying I'm sure, but it's possible and worth consideration considering her mind set and the angles the bullets that struck the children were fired at.
@@wlknonsonshine You think he hopped out and started shooting? Forensics would have figured that out quick...................it seems like residue on the shooters hands would have pin pointed the shooter, no ?
I have “amnesia” from my car wreck so I can totally understand it happening in a major traumatic event. However I had a concussion and was seriously injured and almost died so it makes sense my memory of the wreck and the next few days of what happened I only have maybe 2 or 3 minutes worth of remembering. Though I was talking to my (ex) husband and my family in the hospital, the doctors and nurses, I wasn’t just knocked out for days I was awake. It’s such a weird feeling not knowing what all happened. I remember driving into the intersection and then I remember being in the life flight helicopter for a split second and then I remember it being the day after Halloween which would have been three days after the wreck. The brain is a crazy thing. I was very lucky I didn’t die from some moron running a red light. But in this guys case I just don’t see it happening like he said since he changed his story around and the stuff with the dancers …. Idk it’s not looking good for him.
I'm happy for you that you survived 😃 I have been injured in a crash too and blacked out on impact but I can't imagine going through what you did ❤ I had pain in my back/neck for 14 years before I went to church and people prayed Jesus would heal me. I’m suffering from cognitive decline and am currently working with the drs. I would think it would be dang difficult to come to the realization of the fact that the mother of his children had just shot and killed in cold blood.. and he certainly would have some of his own problems, living with someone who was so labile that she’d even be able to think such things … tragic all the way around
I wonder Doctor, after seeing so many familial killings, do you think we're seeing an advent of more of these types of crimes? Totally understand if you don't comment back! Hope you and the family are well! 🌵 ps. Your statement of, I don't want to go to prison amnesia was golden! 😂
I worked with Christopher and knew Kimberly for a few years and spent time with them outside of work.. They had the 2 girls at the time. It was heartbreaking to hear of Kimberly and the children's murder. Chris was nice and polite but he didn't show a lot of emotion and was quiet. When we were told that Kimberly possibly killed the children and then committed suicide, we didn't believe that for a second. Thank you for your analysis.
Oh, what we don't know behind closed doors...we can present ourselves to the outside world any way we like. My mom certainly did, and behind closed doors, she was a mean, nasty woman. Being introverted and/or unemotional does not prove murder. Kim's medication side effects alone could make at least suicide possible. Nothing is ever as it seems.
@@kataphorav6842 Sorry to hear of how your mother was behind closed doors and how hurtful that must have been for you. Of course people can be different behind closed doors, being quiet and a introvert doesn't make you a killer and being on medication can cause suicide, however, I still say Chris killed his wife and children.
Two things about the wife's mental health and the drugs found in her system: first, if she was experiencing panic disorder, this could have been due to some intuitive sense of not being safe with her husband. That doesn't mean he killed her, because there were certainly other things he did wrong that she may have known or sensed, but her disorder by itself certainly does not make it more likely she committed the crime, either, and her panic could have been exacerbated by feeling unsafe with him. Second, the medications in her system: never underestimate the fact that major corporate interests are aligned against recognizing that some widely-prescribed drugs are very dangerous to a tiny group of people. So, there were interests involved in suppressing that possibility. That would make it harder for the defense to get a qualified expert to testify for their side. This is a tough case. Apparently, a lot of people who analyzed his entire statement to police agree it would be hard to fake believing his family was alive without slipping, and hard to fake interest in seeing the video of what happened. But that doesn't point to guilt or innocence, necessarily. It just means he really did have a traumatic memory lapse, making it impossible to assist in his defense.
yeah, the drugs she was on I also have taken, though, luckily not at the same time. Terrible for me who doesn't suffer Bi polar or other psychotic issues. But migraines, these two drugs are used though not designed for migraine. Self harm was coming my way with both, but I got off them in time. I relate to how Kimberley got to that place of self harm, but wow, killing your children too... did she really try to kill him as well? Terrifying situation.

I was riding my bicycle to school in 4th grade and my front wheel came off and I took a header. I don't remember the morning at all. It was like all of a sudden I was riding my bicycle and I didn't know how I got there. My friend Misty was next to me and I asked her if I had rode to her house to pick her up to ride to school like usual. She said I had and that I had just had an accident but to this day I don't remember waking up or having breakfast or anything. But that was bad head trauma not just a traumatic scary event. And no one was killed.
Kimberly was taking the drug Topamax for migraine headaches. Now Christopher's parents are claiming Kimberly was suicidal because of the side effect of the drug. Also, Christopher spent time with an exotic dancer and told her he was single and had no children. Gives me chills thinking how Scott Peterson told a woman the same story.

He could certainly spend a million and a half in the wilderness. You buy some land with the cabin and a lake. Maybe you build a cabin. Maybe you buy a small plane so you could go in and out of the wilderness at will. I could think of more but I feel like I have made my point.
Even when I would have dementia I hope I can still watch my beloved speculation analysis travel adventures of Dr. Grande 😜💕
"There was almost, reasonable doubt." Classic Grande! 😎😅❤
Yeah, so would that be "un-reasonable doubt" ? =)
@@GFlCh i doubt it.
Good afternoon, Dr Grande. 🙋♥️🪴🌵🪴 I've had a rough day, so I'm watching you. Thank You! Ps. Hopefully, you're enjoying your day!
I know the topics are sometimes disturbing, but Dr. Grande's voice, choice of clothing, (I like the pink, but REALLY love the purple aka "graple" shirt too!), are extremely relaxing to me. Plus the plants. Can't forget about those. 😊 Let's do this, Dr. Grande. Let's hear what you think about this one!🤔🧐❤️
the topics are indeed disturbing
I totally agree with your hypothesis on Dr. Grande's demeanor, or what might be called a demeaner in a video like this. He has a nice cadence to his voice that take the edge off the horror. I love seeing what's next every day!
Gay
His voice and knowing he is going to explain in-depth is why I love listening to him. He will tell a joke and break the seriousness.
He had put his hands up as a defensive move:((
Those poor kids. He’s a real monster.
Great video!! Have a nice Sunday Dr Grande!!!
Why didn't he stop his wife from killing all the children then? He surely could have overpowered her.
Not saying I'm sure, but it's possible and worth consideration considering her mind set and the angles the bullets that struck the children were fired at.
exactly my thoughts!
@@JennyT101 he wasn't in the vehicle.

Would a prison cell be considered "off the grid"?
Idk why but I always expect the beginning to go, “Today’s question is, ‘can I analyze blah blah.’ And today’s answer is, ‘Yes. Yes I can.’”
Dr Grande has great Dry Witt!! So chill and cool!
Excellent analysis Dr. Grande!
The larger cactus in the gray pot seems to be turning his back on the smaller ones. What's the matter?

Hello Dr Grande, I always open your videos and say to myself “speculate away” 😂 I both enjoy and have found your videos insightful and educational. I’m suffering from cognitive decline and am currently working with the drs. This video discusses memory, I have personally suffered from TGA, I was wondering if you have ever covered a case or done a video where this was discussed??
If lying to strippers and wanting to live in the woods is evidence, he isn’t the only good suspect.
No kidding. Who might want to shoot him in the junk for doing that? Someone overloaded on a very dangerous psychotropic drug? Let me think ...
Other people who want to live in woods and lie to strippers aren’t the husband and father tho?
@@JiveDadson no. just no.
Time for Grande’s soothing voice to help me go to sleep 😴
Who needs Ambien? I sleep with him all the time! 😉
I would think it would be dang difficult to come to the realization of the fact that the mother of his children had just shot and killed in cold blood.. and he certainly would have some of his own problems, living with someone who was so labile that she’d even be able to think such things … tragic all the way around
Hi, again, Dr. Grande. 🙋🌵🪴🌵🪴 I'm back. I watched your other video, now I'll watch this one.
I wonder Doctor, after seeing so many familial killings, do you think we're seeing an advent of more of these types of crimes? Totally understand if you don't comment back! Hope you and the family are well! 🌵
ps. Your statement of, I don't want to go to prison amnesia was golden! 😂
woohoo! another Dr. G video!! we are SO lucky 😝❤️
@@kataphorav6842 Sorry to hear of how your mother was behind closed doors and how
hurtful that must have been for you.
Of course people can be different behind closed doors, being quiet and a introvert doesn't make you a killer and being on medication can cause suicide, however,
I still say Chris killed his wife and children.
Thank you for this analysis Dr. Grande! I was hoping you would cover this case.
A killer can definitely be traumatized.
This is a hard one.
Listen to the Murder in Illinois podcast. It's very interesting, heartbreaking & eye opening after several reenactments.
yeah, the drugs she was on I also have taken, though, luckily not at the same time.
It’s a good day when you get a Dr. Grande notification!
He sounds like a cold psychotic/narcissist, didn't care about his family at all, planned it out. Pretty shirt yes 👚. Thanks Dr G😊💟💟

I wonder if he had a different story/plan and the driver who spotted him threw him off because he wasn’t expecting anyone to see him yet.
What speaks to me the most is that he acts like his wife and kids don’t even exist now while he’s in prison.
*Came here from watching the Dr. Phil episode. I'm so curious about this case!! I watch a lot of crime cases and I've never heard of this one.... probably bc there was another huge case going on at the time that took over the media. But this case is a tough one!!*
Yes, that's true. The Drew Peterson trial for the murder of one of his earlier wives, Kathleen Savio. That took up ALL the oxygen on national media, and it was going on at the same time.
The evidence isn't particularly compelling but I can't say I mind him being locked away after gaining insight into his character. He did not have any feelings for his family.
Unemotional fit him really. Thank you Dr.Todd Grande 🫀🤍
Why would she send an email to her husband telling him of her personality change and anxiety?? He could have sent it to himself to provide evidence of her instability!!
He and Dr berg are MY Doctors!! And both have somewhat of a dry humor that we all like and both are super informative, for free!! Can’t beat that as I’ve learned quite a bit from both. Thanks Dr Grande !

That's caused by the head injury, which this guy didn't have.
Another Christopher, the one from Winnie the Poo also likes to live in the Woods!
I was waiting for somebody to talk about this case.
There is another possibility. Dr. Grande is a very smart individual, but he is being too logical here. Life can be crazy, almost like a movie. There is the real possibility his wife let him live, knowing he would go to prison for the crime. Not saying I'm right, just something to consider
