  • Let’s face it, Valentine’s Day can be a mixed bag. Either, you’re blissfully in love and the day is a romantic dream, or, you are not in love and part of you wants to stomp all the roses and put the chocolate bon-bons in a sling shot and pummel Cupid. Whatever your head space this Valentine’s Day, Steve and Nan have a movie for you. Listen in as they share some of their favorite romantic movies to get you in the mood, or give you something to aspire to next year. These movies have a perky female plumber, WWII vets returning from war, and even a wealthy dying woman aboard an ocean liner - something for everyone!

The William Powell/Kay Frances , One Way Passage was better than Till We Meet Again to me.

And why is Kaye Francis SO overlooked? I never find anyone talking about her.❤

Betty Cream is a movie in itself hmmm. Plumbing huh & Anti-Naziism. What backdrop😮 The Clock ~ gonna watch that with a box of dark chocolates.| Parents' friends~ the Dad was a surgeon whom went to the Hollywood Canteen. as he operated on returning wounded soldiers at the old cóurthouse turned hospital in West Pasadena.
"Enchantment" sounds good with ice cream.. Gotta watch "Enchantment" too. Love Guy Madison. Surgeon in my home town used to do house calls for Madison out in Beaumont at his ranch.
"A Brief Encounter" sounds great too, Curious to watch these time capsule WWII life goes on but how. Trauma, desparation in the wake of WWII.
    Thank You Two
    ❤Happy Valentines Day 📽️

    Just finished watching "Brief Encounter."
Dorky people kinda was a a roadblock. But finally got into it. Really wanted her to leave her dud husband & be with the doctor but they are both too boring to make a move. So boring seems to be their fate. I wanted to like it but themselves be duds.

Nan and Steve, I'm hooked on your podcast! Very fascinating! I hate to bring up errors but two important ones: 1. Gigi Perreau pronounced her name as "GHEE-GHEE Perreau", not "Gigi", as in the Lerner and Loewe musical; 2. Jayne Meadows was the sister of Audrey Meadows, who played Alice Kramden on "The Honeymooners".

Thank you again for the clarity. I realized I had gotten my Meadows girls mixed up after the fact, but it had already "gone to press" so to speak, and it was too late to correct it. But glad to know that you are keeping us honest and on our toes. 🙂
