If you were looking for a hard-mode in Sea of Thieves, Solo PvP would definitely be it. Fighting 4v1 is a common occurrence though going through the pain of fighting as a Sloop vs Galleon is also the fastest way to get better at PvP.

While I'm not a fan of PvP, I'm somewhat excited to be able to choose when I want to fight so I can practice more.

@@stankobarabata2406 most sweats (when I played a lot) ran 4 man gally crews anyways so they almost always had numerical advantage and if not they had more skill than most
@@Bmuenks31 yea, I hate the pvp part in this game, since it is not voluntarily. Questing is stressful, because danger lurks around every corner. Soloing a fortress only to come out and see your ship destroyed. But yea, now we have PvE without emmissaries and only 30 percent of profit, which is literally NOTHING. Thanks for that great PvE option, rare! That´s exactly what I always wanted. NOT
That guy on that Galleon that was totally willing to team up with you against the reaper Galleon. Him saying, "Ohhh, hell yeah" is the funniest!! 🤣

I don't think it's possible to find a content creator that has 100-200k subs that doesn't have this sentiment in their comment section of nearly every video. It's too small to receive feedback from people that don't want to see it but also big enough that there will be an overwhelming amount of feedback from people that do.
Finally, a new Cliff video. I missed these. They're pretty much the highlight of any tuesdays.
Huge congrats on reaching 200k, man! With the quality content you upload it's no wonder this channel is flying up the numbers. These solo videos in particular always crack me up, even though I'm sad Captain "Aw Hell Yeah" didn't get his revenge on the Reapers. :')

Solo PvP is pretty fun in Season 8 👌
The biggest struggle I have with solo pvp is when you die, and you have 2 people camping you on your sinking ship. And for whatever reason, it decides to spawn me right next to them each time.
Definitely felt like the game was taking the piss when I spawned with the dude's Blunderbuss breathing down my neck
Sea of thieves is definitely one of those games that is much better when you have a full crew, but some of the most iconic moments I have ever had were playing solo.
Loving these videos! I quit playing a while ago as I'm awful at PVP (combination of disability affecting my reaction times and poor eyesight) and it just drove me crazy to get killed all the time when I just wanted to find chests and buy cute clothes lmao 🤣
That sucks. You should try going back and learn a few tricks with your ship and communication to keep forced pvp to became a rare occasion.
And even when you can't avoid combat, you can become really hard to sink and catch as well even with slow reaction times and poor eye sight. Just takes some naval skills :)
I will say, solo slooping can be an extreme pain in the butt. Especially since you gotta maintain everything during a battle. Great video Cliff!
Hey cliff, great content keep ur the good work.
The difficulty I've always had with solo slooping is shortly after combat begins I have to be off the cannons to either course correct or repair damage during which time I am doing NO damage to the enemy and they are continuing to fire on me. I have practiced against a skeleton galleon a few times but at best...I manage to run away without sinking.
Worst part of solo pvp, getting jumped as soon as you log on then having the ship that sunk you immediately log out when they see you coming for them on the horizon, denying you revenge.
Great video Cliff! I also heard that they will be adding Merrick's blunderbuss that shoots fire- and blonderbombs to the game in season 8!!! Love you👍🏿

Saddest Galleon - fight I've ever seen. Usually -if you fight a Gally with a solo - sloop - you are gonezo the moment you enter their broadside. If they are a well oiled machinery at least 3 cannons will make swiss cheese out of your vessel (3x10 cannon balls = 30 shots fired at your ship in rapid succession...) while the fourth boards you. Usually an act of 1 minute max.
Just started sea of thieves due to my friend begging me, and your videos have helped alot. Love them, keep up the good work.
I only found you a couple weeks ago and have been binge watching your vids ever since. You’re amazing!
as some one who is struggling as a solo sloop adventurer, (who just saved up to buy his own sloop) its reached a point where i just cant bring myself to respawn anymore,(having a crew of 3 spawn camping most of your respawn spots while they shame me for not having friends, general toxic slurs for being a noob captain as my ship slowly burns down and sinks, is just not worth) 9/10 crews that sunk me are always 3-4 players (my co op friends can only play 1-2 days a week so i have to go solo to make gold)
my worst day was yesterday where i got sunk 10 times within 4 hours (7 of which where pvp, (also losing the kracken, skeleton sloop and galleon emergent event) scuttling and server hopping every combat encounter.
its reached a point where idk what to do anymore i cant even go beach combing for scraps with out some one some how finding me it seems.
i did not know becoming a real ship captain makes you so much more of a target.

I wish they would make refugee areas to at least have somewhere people good go if they didn't want a fight and to also save some loot if not all because grinding and losing everything doesn't always make for fun gameplay. Battle zones though seem like a good idea though, but hopefully won't become novel as some people just like ruining other people's day. xD
I haven't played SOT since the new adventure came out, also why I like the Athena missions because of the fish to my friends' dismay, those fish don't sell em self's is all I am saying.
Hitting the front of the ship will nose a boat into when they’re turned your direction. Landing one on the back will have the desired effect!

I went down to the treasury of lost ancients and looked under water and could see everything
I love the great struggle of such fights I already got a Streak level of 4 and immediately only started fighting galleons got sunk after my second fight with one but it was fun none the less. ALL HAIL SEASON 8!

Sloops overall can't catch bigger ships running, but bigger ships can't easily catch sloops if they go into the wind. So runners are annoying for everyone and not especially for solo's I'd say.

The day they add solo non pvp mode will be the day the playerbase skyrockets.
What's that about flipping voyages makes the loot disappear? Is it only the Veil Voyage to avoid an exploit with ship graveyards or all voyages?
Upd: yep, it only happens with loot from ship graveyards. Found it in patchnotes.

Honestly i have been playing Brig very often,more often than a galeon
Not always having 1 more crewmember is better than being 3 times as big of a target
Often you see a reaper,but it's a 50/50 if it is a true reaper or Runner Bones

i just did a gallion fight alone and won i dont know what happened but i killed them all and then they discoverd they have a few holes somehow i won

Since when are you bad at pvp? I thought you were an avid fan of the reapers and had tons of experience? You're doing pretty well in this video too
What is your cosmetic for your ship I love it
No one is talking about the grind not only do you either have to be pirate legend and/or level 75 in reapers you then have to reach rank 100 in the PVP to be able to even access the hide out or the curse.
And then another 100 levels to get the other curse And hide out.
Even if you won every single PVP fight you ever played it's probably gonna take people weeks if not months to even get 1 of the hideouts or new curses
I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing. For me, who is bad at PvP, it's gonna take a very long time to unlock the Skelly curse. But so what? I am not entitled to get access to everything immediately. And seeing crews rock those cosmetics is gonna show me they put in the time and they're probably pretty good at PvP. Essentially, what 'Pirate Legend' used to be

I agree but 100 is such a high bar!
I play a lot and I enjoy the pvp.
But thats is the biggest grind in the game now.
I dont want it to be easy or fast to unlock.
But I do think that 98% of players will never even be able to go to the new hideous or even see most of what season 8 has in it.
Cause most players will neven reach rank 100.
I bet most won't even reach rank 30 in eather faction.
Meaning season 8 only has an hour glass and a way to find pvp faster wich is good but.
That means that all the other stuff they added in this season is pointless.
The hideous the music the caricters you could meet all the cool new things to see.
Pointless because players will never get to see any of it being locked behind 100 levels! Twice!
That's my issue with this season.
I am grinding the skeleton curse.
And only doing pvp for reapers to unlock it faster.
After 30+ fights I'm only rank 11.
And I will leave another message once I unlock the skeleton curse.

That gets you no points at all towards the curses.
Meaning I spent 30+ min fighting to just get boarded and then spawn camped.
Wasting a lot of time and effort to get literally nothing at all not even the very small amount of points I would have gotten if my ship just sunk.
This has happend multiple times to me already and it's only day 2.😮💨😵💫
I wish I could play as good as you I suck so much at pvp
