Today's episode definitely falls in line with a lot of my other rather.. 'Special' ideas. Rather than playing the game as intended, I was trying to come up with the HARDEST way to grind gold.
Of course, we have already done the rowboat thing so things had to level up from there. What about having to use ANOTHER crew's ship, meaning we couldn't avoid PvP? And what about a perma death ruleset? Yeah, now we're talking.
Naturally, with a challenge as tough as this, I had to get myself some help. Next to Birdie and Delphy we also got ourselves a special guest today..

Adore both the solo players who got boarded and just went along with it. This might as well happen.
As a solo fishing player myself, I will go along with basically anything, as long as someone approaches me without immediate murder
Finally, rowboating becoming more popular. We've been doing it for almost a year now and it's really a good way to spice things up! Great video!

Me and the crew once had similar idea... but we used skelly sloop as our bait. It took 10 minutes of defending infinite waves of skeletons, but we succeded! It's nice to see somebody doing similar thing but with rowboats.
can you sail a skelly sloop, or did you just ride the sloop til someone else came along?

Cliff bro this was great. I first started watching ya about 8 months ago on an off till I finally subed bout 5 months ago. Your stories inspired me to play sot as just myself. Playing to make my own stories to share with others on the seas, and I'm happy to say I've become a professional sea hobo with countless stories of my own now, as well as spend most my times doing so looking the part and using the best sea vessel in the game, a rowboat lol. Thank you for your hardwork and content, your stories and the inspiration to just do what ya gut tells ya on such a game, and the crazy ideas you come up with.

Every time I watch one of Cliffs videos I can't wait to get on a play sea of theievs again, by far the best sea of thieves content creator!
Cliff knows exactly how to make a UA-cam video, short yet attention retaining it is absolutely the perfect way to get me to enjoy a video, plus the shenanigans and his ability to warp everything into a cool story is absolute perfection.

That was awesome! This is actually sonething to consider: even if you want the loot, you don't have to sink your opponent. Remember, that real pirates didn't always sink their targets - they only needed to intimidate their victims and take the loot. Moreover, sometimes they actually just took the ship (because it was, well, the only real way to get a new ship for a pirate) so they tried to keep it intact.

A couple months ago cliff tried sinking a ship with the chest of sorrows didn’t work out but recently they added the everlasting sorrow as an item you can find and there are quests that only give you cursed chests so maybe give it another go?
5:47 I'm pretty sure scuttling your ship kicks you to a new server like losing in hourglass, so I don't think the other dude scuttled.
I'm fairly certain that is a separate setting, scuttling has never put you on a different server but Season 9 added the ability to scuttle + server merge in one go. When a player quits the game or loses connection, the game holds onto that slot for about 15 minutes. If the player doesn't reconnect, the slot gets freed up for a new crew and the ship scuttles

Great video! I did something similar with my wife when we were trying to finish the
gifts commendations (make another player sell gifts for you at reapers). We kidnapped a kid to force him to sell our gifts. In the end he had a blast and he added us as friends. We still play together sometimes. 😂

Not relevant to the video but i just had to get this out here. I recently visited the reapers hideout with my crew to sell a little bit of loot. After getting on the island we spotted what were about 20 chests near the beach. Almost instantly reaching reaper emissary lvl 5 after just picking up all the loot we sold all of it for a hefty profit of around 420000 gold in about 30 minutes. It is moments like this why i absolutely love this game.

I have half a mind to convince the crew to try doing this or going via an armada of rowboats...If not for the fact the crew visits the Sea of Thieves about as often as Davy Jones visits dry land. Still a crazy story to listen to.
In all the years of watching UA-cam videos, I came to the conclusion that there are 2 types of creators: "video creators" and "content creators". The "video creators" are people who make unique, well edited and distinct videos where everything is deliberate and made with care. And the "content creators" are people who are less ambitious but instead focus on consistency and frequent uploads. In the times when UA-cam is dominated by "content creators" who produce mediocre videos that blow up mainly due to good timing, clickbaity titles and oversaturated thumbnails, I'm very happy to see that there are still proper "video creators" like you who get some recognition.
Cliff, your videos are very entertaining, well structured, well edited and professional. I wish you the best and I'm sure you're gonna have a million subscribers in no time. Are you planning on expanding your content perhaps? I would love to see some other games featured on your channel. Your style of storytelling would fit a lot of different games like GTA Online, Hitman, Red Dead Online, Star Citizen and many more. You could be like Modest Pelican but you know... with actual talent XD

I have stolen so many ships, for so many reasons.
Last time I dressed entirely in red, with white hair and as the person was doing the pirate's life tall tale in the coral fortress I just stole their ship and filled it with loot, and kegs.
Unfortunately they got back in the middle of me filling it with kegs so there was explaining to be done, and the conversation very much did start with "Don't shoot me, I'm holding a Keg"
But hey sometimes Santa's deliveries go a lil strange.

Several times as a solo sloop my ship got boarded by two or more pirates claiming me as hostage an taking my vessel to pvp encounters, I never scuttled, I always played along, just to stab their back when they were most as helpless as possible
