full N treatment is FWD tho, at least for their ICE Ns. I agree tho, it absolutely needs AWD, & there's other cars they offer with the same powertrain + AWD, so not sure why they don't. Only thing I can assume is they don't want it to eat into Genesis sales.

I agree. Mostly. Starting at 3:08, when he was talking aboit the multi link independent rear suspension, the camera starts panning and zooming to the front driver wheel. It was a bit jarring for some reason. But everything else and overall, this is a great video.
I have been admiring this car for over a year and hope I can get to own one someday. Love the refreshed facelift and love almost everything about this car. hopefully soon you guys will refresh the back end because that is its only downside imo. But overall great job guys. you truly made the cheapest race car on the market.

Even not totally on board with the previous front end, what it offered was enough for me to give them a pass on the front. One day we'll look back and truly appreciate this car and what they did for the car community.

They would have to retrofit all the machines in the factory and probably so much more for the body paneling. Would be too expensive. I'm just happy these even EXIST. No it doesn't. I have the 2023 Elantra N and have had 0 issues with stormy weather, big puddles, and car washes. Both pressure, self wash, and automatic. Cars been a tank for me. I think the issues you are seeing are with the 2022 models which have been recalled and improved upon. You are covered by warranty by 100k miles you are safe.
@@pinkisforpimps My mom had a Hyundai that went 250K miles. I can give you 1st hand experience they don't have unrealiable cars IMO. Not sure about the EN but they have a warranty that will make any concerns dissapear.
Can you comment on radar/smart cruise on the DCT in the US? Given that the US has one of the largest highway networks in the world, this is a desirable option. It's very disappointing that it doesn't appear to be available.

The 1.6 Turbo is nice, but can't beat the efficiency and drivability of a 2.0L NA engine (assuming car is light enough to compensate for lower torque output). In my 2017 Honda Civic LX (Basic 6MT Sedan weighting 2700lb), I used to drive 300km round trip, spend 1/2 the day doing consistent lapping and drive back on the SAME tank of gas. Nothing out there can beat this kind of flexibility (was considered one of slow cars with the fast grouping).

The pre-facelift elantra N did not have the full drivers assistance package and have updated that to include everything now. This change was global for the facelift.

SharkRacing has these new forged wheels for a reasonable cost. Ordered a set for my 22' The wheels are the only thing I hate on the original. The new front hood cut line near the headlight is wrong. The back is okay, but no better/worse. They also retuned the damper settings to enable longer suspension stroke for a better ride. Overall, the new model is probably more desirable just for that. Hoping for dealer firmware for 22-23 for the dampers.
GTI is a complete slouch compared to the N. Not nearly as performance oriented and not even close to being as fun to drive. GTIs are fantastic cars with maybe more premium luxury appointments, but as far as performance and an enthusiast driving experience, the N cars are very much a step above.
Downsides would be interior quality. It's not the best as I already sat in one at the LA Auto show. No rear vents. The whole octane learning. And of course, long term reliability. I'm on the EN subreddit and I'm always seeing people post small issues w their cars.

The only thing if I had to say that kinda felt not so expensive was the padding on the seats. The Recaro's in my Fiesta ST felt better. But that was an option that costed $2k extra so not an issue. I think they did almost the impossible with the value we're getting for this car. I couldn't fault them in any way.

Elantra/Kona N line should get the 2.0L turbo. The Elantra/Kona N should get the 2.5L that's in the Sonata N line. And the Sonata should just be a full-fledged N and get the G70's 3.3L turbo. If they can do it and keep it affordable, they'd be killing everyone.

Sad it was black. And it was a DCt which is what I wanted since my Fiesta ST is a manual. Sad they don't make them anymore 😞But the EN is now a better choice for me. I'm 6'4 and I even have extra space in the front. Super rare for me.
@@georgevigil7001 it took me a long time to find my blue veloster n. I ended up having to get it shipped to me. There’s quite a bit of head room but, I’ve never had anyone 6’4” in my car.

Im in between this and a BMW 230i. One is a fwd sedan, other is rwd coupe. Obviously the EN will be more fun but the 230 is better looking, better quality and basically just as fast.
I think it is about time they add 4 piston Brembo Brakes and redesign that rear. The front looks soo good now, but them triangular shape sides and rear and specially that ugly pep boys spoiler.
@CRUMB. I don't know about them 2 pistons have the same stopping power as a 4 piston brembo brakes. I'm sure the 4 pot brembos grip about 20% better than regular.
@kuvyoghmoobamelica6883 brembos are overrated these days. The elantra gets the same stopping power as brembo 4pistons and yet the EN only has single piston. The mazdaspeed3 also has single pistons and they stop as good as a brembo (with different pads ofcourse)

Brakes are surprisingly good but the lines need to be braided because they fade after about 15mins of track use
The brakes have the same stopping power at a 4piston brembos. But yeah a 4piston will feel nice on the brake pedal though.

@kuvyoghmoobamelica6883 brembos are overrated these days. The elantra gets the same stopping power as brembo 4pistons and yet the EN only has single piston. The mazdaspeed3 also has single pistons and they stop as good as a brembo (with different pads ofcourse)
@commentmancommentman1658 I don't know about that. 1 piston pressing on 1 sideof the brake rotor will not have better stopping power than a 2 sided piston caliper.
