Alux.com false, you said his all time favourite car is the XC90, when in fact his ALL TIME favourite car is the Lexus LFA. He just greatly admires the Volvo.
On a video titled '15 things you didn't know about Jeremy Clarkson', why on earth is number 7 even here? #7 is "he is forever causing controversy". The voice says "If there's one thing about Jeremy Clarkson that everyone knows it's that he loves to cause controversy". Then why is it on this damn list?
ZeyZerX { GD } I was in an audience when he was interviewed and he was asked what his favourite car was and straight away he said the Lexus LFA. He said it's more special to him and he loves how crazy it is and yet subtle
" No 9: He's written a 1,000 + articles for the Sunday Times - an incredible achievement for someone whose primary job is not journalism " - Seriously ?! He's a Journalist ! He writes. That is his passion, That is his primary goal in life. When the BBC were looking for new Top Gear presenters he said they need to be looking at the young and upcoming Motoring Journalists. He said that in order to this job, " You need to love writing. You need to love it so much that you write all day to earn a living and when you come at night you write to relax ". If you can do this then like Hammond & May you can present anything and it will be worth watching. The BBC replaced him with a loudmouth DJ who liked cars - it was an utter disaster.
If I were a billionaire I would buy this channel purely for the sheer joy of closing it down to stop that damned annoying, whining, nasal, computer generated, god-awful voice.
Jeremy Charles Robert Clarkson (Born on 11 April 1960) is an English broadcaster, journalist and writer who specialises in motoring. He is best known for co-presenting the BBC TV show Top Gear with Richard Hammond and James May from October 2002 to March 2015. He also writes weekly columns for The Sunday Times and The Sun. From a career as a local journalist in northern England, Clarkson rose to public prominence as a presenter of the original format of Top Gear in 1988. Since the mid-1990s, he has become a recognised public personality, regularly appearing on British television presenting his own shows and appearing as a guest on other shows. As well as motoring, Clarkson has produced programmes and books on subjects such as history and engineering. From 1998 to 2000, he also hosted his own chat show, Clarkson. His opinionated but humorous tongue-in-cheek writing and presenting style has often provoked public reaction. His actions both privately and as a Top Gear presenter have also sometimes resulted in criticism from the media, politicians, pressure groups and the public. He also has a significant public following, being credited as a major factor in the resurgence of Top Gear as one of the most popular shows on the BBC. On 25 March 2015, the BBC announced it would not renew Clarkson's contract after he verbally and physically attacked a Top Gear producer over a dispute at a hotel while filming on location.[3][4] In mid-2015 Clarkson, Hammond, May and producer Andy Wilman formed production company W. Chump & Sons to produce The Grand Tour for Amazon Video. Clarkson was born in Doncaster, the son of Shirley Gabrielle Clarkson, a teacher, and Edward Grenville Clarkson, a travelling salesman.[5] His parents, who ran a business selling tea cosies, put their son's name down in advance for private schools, with no idea how they were going to pay the fees, until at the last moment, when he was 13, they made two Paddington Bear stuffed toys for each of their children.[6] These proved so popular that they started selling them through the business with sufficient success to be able to pay the fees for Clarkson to attend Hill House School, Doncaster, and later Repton School.
15 Things You Didn't Know: "If there's anything everyone knows about Clarkson, it is that he loves to cause controversy." Great job guys keep doing this amazing work forever.
Its always been funny to me how clarkson is so famous for controversy and gets news reprots and hate groups attacking him for it when everything "controversial" he says is actually just in a joking context, no seriousness at all. But people like Piers Morgan say something controversial and not as a joke but in a serious way like they mean it and they never get made an example out of it. This backwards logic only goes to teach people to actually agree with the opinions whether they are serious or not...
Nice vid about Jeremy Clarkson. I did buy an Alfa Romeo once because he said that if you're a real petrol head, you should at least one time in your life own one.
A compliment regarding presentation of this list. It's calm, considerate and feels much more grown up than the many other garish shouty click bait fodder around here ...
The irony of talking about how Clarkson single-handedly saved Top Gear, whilst the video clips shown are almost exclusively of him on The Grand Tour ... It'd be funny if it was just channels like this that were so lazy and inattentive, but the terrifying thing is that this is what we've come to expect from all media, on all platforms.
I'm an American and I was a Top Gear junkie because of Clarkson, Hammond and May! After they left, I haven't watched 1 episode. I watched less than 10 minutes of the new top gear and changed channels. Never went back. It's not worth wiping your backside on without them.
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are all living proof that hosts can make or break a TV show. Look how quickly the relaunched version of Top Gear fell when Jeremy, James and Richard left. And now they have a show that is basically top gear but in a way better.
We're thinking about doing a special video on The Grand Tour alone, once we get some real numbers in like salary, funding, etc. Maybe when S02 comes on.
You missed the important one. As a young man he took his parents boat on an unauthorized outing and saved the lives of some other boaters. Karma is a powerful thing.
I want to add that he is highly intelligent as well, although you might need to read his books (or watch his other tv productions) to notice. He is a true original, born of very intelligent and original parents. His mother designed the Paddington Bear (British children's tv superstar). His father went up to his room, waking the around 10 year old boy, telling him he had to wake up and come watch tv. There was something going on he reconed would become important. That was the first ever Monty Python show, which hardly anyone understood anything of at the time. Clarkson's father must have had a special intellect to catch the importance immediately, to that degree. TIP: Look for Jeremy's program about Isambard Kingdom Brunel, and his War Stories, and "Greatest raid of all time". Just genius.
Be also aware that although the dynamic trio truly has a great chemistry, and makes up a great package, the first years while Top Gear grew big, most of what the other two said on the screen was written by Clarkson (and Wilman). I believe Hammond and May have grown into a greater degree of contribution over the years, but that's just a guess, based on how they have the same style on their own shows. They have distinctly different styles, those three, and I believe that is part of the secret behind the success.
Clarkson is a badass... for sure in contention for "Most interesting Man". He may be a bit of a snuss when it comes to working with his hands (at least thats how it comes off) He has the mentality/thought/attitude of what a man should have IMO

Great Jeremy Clarkson, together with James May and Richard Hammond made some of the best TV shows ever! It was not about cars, it was one of the best examples of genuine and intelligent british humor. Remark at fact #12 that the boy in the foreground center is Peter Ostrum, the "Charlie" of 1971 "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory"!

As polar opposites attract each other, the north pole of the needle will point towards the earth's magnetic south pole

Jeremy, Richard and May all hate the Vauxhall Astra F. That is the reason i have had 4 Astra F's over the years and still own one this day. The car is great :)
Number 10 is wrong. His favorite is the Eagle Speedster (a modernized E-Type), number two is the original E-Type, number 3 is the Porsche 928, and number 4 is the Volvo.
The original top gear series has now passed into the stuff of legend. No one could follow the three gentlemen who presented that show-when they left, the show died on its arse-although the corpse is still being animated by several nondescript puppets who are as memorable as a packet of crisps. Clarkson, Hammond, May-simply put, the best three presenters of all time in the golden age of television on the original, one and only, oft to be replayed and loved yet again, top gear ✌
