6:00 Those are sickles! Fun fact, they’re actually used to harvest crops if they aren’t being used as weapons! That does a funny lil tie in with farming and crows :P

I’m glad!! That’s my rule whenever I’m designing. Sometimes I try it and it looks terrible and I scrap it immediately but sometimes it’s my favorite part and you never know until you try

another thing for finding inspiration for character design inspiration: i make pintrest boards but never end up using them instead i use an app called picrew and just go and make a bunch of designs and then take what i like about each one and combine them also helps when you have a faint idea in mind for the character but you could try from scratch!
if you're a digital artist, USE A OVERLAY LAYER ON ALL OF THEM WITH ONE COLOR!! it brings the colors together even if they are different. remember to lower the opacity though!

And very useful too, ive been into character designs for a good while now, especially for groups of characters, and one ive been wracking my head on recently are actually a group that have some characters that really need some more thought put into it, so this was a very adequate timing! I love your style and i really like the ideas, I'll for sure check out more of your channel! And i do fully agree that not every character needs to have a story or much figured out to design them, most of my characters i do design first with the vaguest of concepts in mind, and the group in specific i have been thinking about recently are actually just for the sake of character design. They're personifications of the colors, so they're 16 in total, and I've been working on them on and off since 2017, i even did an overhaul for all them last year, but in retrospect some still need more interest in their designs. It's fun to develop some certain "rules" for the designs, having some limitations while exploring how to best take advantage of them, and breaking when it's convenient so its not too "cookie-cutter"

And this video is very helpful bcuz of the tips and things...(little edit: the manga thing has something like a trio,so thats why this vid is helpful and also pretty inspirational for me!) great video!! Hi! does anyone have any tips on poses they are really hard to get right for me and make the character look fluid and just get the body proportions right
i would start with references, (real people) trace over them and find there body shape, if know what i mean? construct an anatomy style, like in the video they had a "weird rectangle " for the upper body, etc. when tracing, trace over a few references and then beside the image, (with the traced sketch on top) try it without tracing (you can look back but try not to perfectly copy it), and do this a few times a day, maybe? depending on your schedule. but try at least once a day! really bad explanation sorry, there are lots of videos on that technique! after some time you might start to notice improvement :)
