- The Focke-Wulf 190-A8 werk nummer 173056 on display at the Wings Over Illawarra 2017 Air show! Sydney Airshow / Illawarra Airshow
Footage including the engine starting, taxiing, takeoff, fly by and landing.
The Focke-Wulf 190, and the Messerschmitt Bf 109, formed the backbone of the Luftwaffe's Jagdwaffe (Figher Force). This particular aircraft, 173056, was built in July 1944 in Cottbus, Germany and was taken out of action the following month when the Allied forces liberated Reims.
It remained in Reims until 1989 when it was restored and first flew again in 2011. This particular FW-190 is powered by a 1900hp (1397kW) 14 cylinder Shvetsov ASh-82 two-row air-cooled radial engine instead of the usual BMW 801
Date: 7/5/2017
Location: Albion Park Airport at the Wings Over Illawarra 2017
Camera: Sony A6500

The look and sound of the Focke Wulf FW 190 on the ground is absolutely astounding!
Its tall wide stocky landing gear and stout body, long lean mean tail section make it a cut above all others in ways.
And it sounds like a top fuel dragster idling!😀
the FW 190 looks and sounds badass. greetings from germany.
Real
THE most fabulous looking WW2 fighter. Nothing else even comes close, the designer should be a hero!
The FW 190 had an outstanding roll-rate, better than all its compatitors at the theater.
In the year 1943 JagdGeschwader 26 was credited 4 to 1 ( 4 Allies shot down, 1 German plane lost).
Great photography Paul! It looks like you got perfect weather too!
Thanks mate, yep the weather on the Sunday was perfect.
A real show. The ones in america have 110db pop rock music and a hysterical announcer that wont shut up.
haha fair comment. I hope you've seen my other airshow videos :)
This livery is a replica of Hans Dortenmann's 190A8/R2 from III./JG54, right before switching to the 190D9, mid 1944.
4.JG54*
Shame no d 9s are flying anymore
Fantastic video! What an awesome sounding aircraft!
Thanks mate. Agreed - it sounded very different to the Spitfire and Mustang.
Absolutely stunning! Awesome video!
Thanks mate.
That pilot is an absolute dreamboat. I want his babies. The skills involved flying that thing.
Great footage! I love the slow mo footage!
Thanks mate.
Awesome footage Paul! Thanks for posting!
Thanks mate
muy buen avión!. Gran paisaje!!
:)
Love FW-190, especially the A-9...and the TA-152. Tank was years ahead of the rest of the world...IMHO.
Even his Ta 183 resembled that of like a much shorter early cold war jet with its configuration and swept wing
Such a beautiful aircraft, and a truly great day. We definitely should meet up one day!
It was a great day! You're in the Illawarra are you?
I'm actually in the Inner West region of Sydney believe it or not. I love when RWY34L is open, because planes fly right over me :)
Very nice video Paul thanks for posting
Thanks!
Awesome video paul, really good footage!
Thanks mate.
excellent footage. danke.
cheers
Great video!
Thanks!
Unique world war 2 fighter plane.Amazing video Paul.
Thanks mate! Absolutely! The 109 seems to get a lot of attention and everyone forgets that over 20,000 of these were built.
Yes,so impressive.
A German aircraft shot down and later recovered in France, restored and based in Australia, powered now by a soviet engine...what a fascinating globalized world we live in. :)
+Unther It's about 10% of Fw-190A-8 #173056 that was stripped and buried in France and the rest is FlugWerk replica airframe.
Nice job, Paul.
Thanks Steven.
Hands down the best fighter plane of WW2. Shame it doesn't have the BMW engine.
It wasn’t the best fighter but ok
@@HarleyWasHere Yeah it was, until the last 2 weeks of WW2, go park yourself in the wrong bin.
@@justinmorgan2126 nope it wasn’t go to sleep mate
Good job
Thanks mate.
What happened to the original 800 series BMW radial engine? I know their difficult to fix, but not impossible.
I can't answer your question I'm afraid but here's a link to the website created by this aircraft's owner: www.raptoraviation.com.au/
+Desoxyn Man Gone except for a few in museums or private hands. The Allies had an efficient disarmament program and the scrappers and Russia cleaned up what was left for raw materials. There aren't that many BMW 801s or parts supply to support many flying examples. There are a few around but far more expensive to rebuild, especially when you would operate them with the original wartime service intervals of 100 hours or so and roughly quadruple the costs to rebuild than a typical Merlin. The Fw-190 in the video is a Flugwerk replica and it was NEVER their goal to fit with them with the BMW engines. Flugwerk built them to be an "affordable" warbird so they sold them as kits for owners to finish and used the ASh radials that are still comparatively easy to fix and repair.
Beautiful butcher bird
👍👍👍
Built in 1944? No, it's a Replica from 1990 or so Flugwerk. Maybe the type plate and some few parts are from the original FW 190.
+Juno Some Flugwerk customers are incorporating some original parts or a data plate to give their replica some authenticity. But calling it a WW2 Fw-190 unless it's built like a WW2 Fw-190 is disingenuous.
Nice ! who is at the controls ?
Thanks mate. Chris Mayr I believe.
ok. Thank you !
This is an ASh-82 right? I fly this skin exclusively in War Thunder. I'm a JG54 fanboy, especially III. and IV. Gruppe.
+Rob Bader Replica with ASh-82, yes.
Hans Dortenmann's!I have the same one in 1:48 Hobbymaster
Illawarra ? What country is it in ?
Australia :)
Stewart - Thank you.
Its a TA 156
Mustang killer
Exaggerated. It's only 10% original.
Fair enough
+NOTABOOS Yes, about 10% of Wk.Nr. 173056 that was stripped out and buried in France. It carries the ID but it is mostly FlugWerk replica.
that swastika is soooooooo offensive. that's a hate crime. Im telling Aunt Kamala on youuuuuu
Thanks for your mature addition
