  • WARNING: Don't blame me if you wreck your compensator. I have read that this process will remove the finish. It did not seem to hurt mine but YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY! Your compensator may end smelling like a douche afterward, but at least it will be clean. Good Luck.

I let mine soak for an hour undisturbed...comps come out looking brand new with no bad effects to the finish on any of my comps. Take care to use in a well ventilated area and mind how you dispose of the solution.

With their new comp out, it's clear TK knew they had to re-engineer their comps because of the lead collection issue. I have a Volquartsen comp on mine and a TacSol comp on my wife's gun and those things are brilliant. They work great and they don't collect lead. TK's comp just works great. Full stop.

Any suggestions on how to clean comp without having to remove it from the barrel?

Distilled white vinegar works even better

+metthem88 Try this out, it takes 90% of the work out of cleaning these comps. Mine was so bad I thought about just pitching it out and buying a new one. I found this info on a website that I can't recall, and it works great. So shout out to the guy who came up with this whoever he is.
