It sucks when you do work for a friend and they don’t pay, I can see people doing work with out contracts but in the end you should always have everything in writing and then at the end give the friend discount and throw everything away.
Contracts are imperative when dealing with friends and family. If those are the people that you want to have a clear understanding with, then get it all in writing. It's just business. It is so that everybody understands what is happening. If either party is afraid or hesitant to sign a contract, then it's not a good business deal. Walk away and find someone else who's willing to contract with you for what you want. Sometimes, it's actually disadvantageous to hire friends and family for a discount. Because sometimes you get discounted work for discounted price. People working for friends and family may feel like they don't have to give it 100% because they have an understanding relationship with the other person.
Well you tell she has never had to deal with Amazon and all the ridiculous requirements and delays they throw at you. If you've been locked out or you change from personal to professional enough they make it ridiculous to get fixed!
When I was in my 20,s and had never been to court and there were no court tv back then, I had a bank take me to court. My purse was stolen and I made a police report. I had a unemployment ck uncashed in my purse because I hadn't made it to the bank yet. I went to the unemployment office and made a report it was stolen. Someone cashed my ck and the bank was suing me. I went to court with lots of evidence and the lawyer for the bank only had a copy of the CK. The judge went off on that lawyer and told him never to enter his court and waste his time again. I learned early,,have evidence in hand.
This is pretty sad. If all this guy did was order ring cameras and the ring system, and these guys took 7 months at the least to set it up, they have no business being anywhere near security systems. Ring is designed for a toddler to be able to set up. And if two of these guys couldn't do it together, it's time for them to switch over to something more befitting men of their ability. Maybe they can pass out Jello cups at the senior citizen center.
"Judge Milan, I expect you to take my word for what happened in this case. It's unreasonable for you to ask for any records/proof of this business transaction involving over $1400!"
At least she didn't say, "all you need is a crayon and a piece of toilet paper..." I think that's the most ridiculous idea in the world! For one thing the toilet paper will fall apart soon as you start to write on it!!
There's literally no way the intended wifi and camera set up as described was as complicated of an actual process that the defense claimed. It sounds to me as he was trying to use old school knowledge and tech to accomplish a new school job. $1400 for all necessary outdoor electrical work, the physical install of the cameras, and camera set up is a more than a reasonable price for both sides.
You are so right. They said they ordered the ring camera system from Amazon. That thing is almost ready to go outside of the box. They purposely make the ring cameras easy to operate so that they will sell. That's one of The top features of the product.
I'm watching this one without wearing my glasses. I had to pause the video and enlarge it to see that in the background the writing on the whiteboard says 'Frank'.... not what my blurry, no-glasses vision interpretted from the shape of the word. 😂🤣😂
Why do ppl come on CourtTV just to look like the rest of the idiots before them. If you watch this show you should know to always get a contract and receipt
Jeezum Cats, old Gilbert Gottfried defendant was trying to cobble together a bunch of stuff & want it all to work together perfectly amongst all his junk
Love how she knows the value of any and everyone's occupation and what it requires to get each job completed......it's not like every house and client is a different scenario but hey the judge has had internet work done so that means she's a complete expert on what it entails to make it happen, too hard to phone an expert based on the scope of work done or required, good lord "pawn stars" was more thorough then the make believe judge, I'm shocked the show is canceled 😊
They could have helped themselves out by having a detailed scope of work contract. Then she wouldn’t have had to come to Rough Justice. They were their own worst enemies.
in otherwords the Plaintiffs had no clue and were trying to learn to do the job by asking companies how their stuff works. This defendant was a fool also TP and crayon dude.
Being older is not an excuse to not know things about computers, I know some older people who know more about tech then I do. If you want to understand something then you take the time to understand it.
Well to be fair, I am a 50 year old Gen X woman and I have to teach a lot of millenials on my job and younger relatives about technology. I do stuff on my phone📱, smart watch⌚️, and tablet that they have no clue about. They are always asking me how to do stuff. It is shocking to say the least. I am more tech savvy than the majority of millenials. Now they have given me the nick name "Ms. Technology" 😂
I wonder if both sides purposely didn't write anything down for whatever they considered good reasons and are now reaping the bitter fruits when they try to settle things in a court of law.
I recently withdrew a fair amount of cash to buy a car they used the counting machine whoosh here ya go $6,000. I got home and took a vid of me opening the envelope and counting just incase the machine had sticky fingers. A phone can take a pic or record a verbal agrement
The judge thinks she is so high and mighty when she says you should always get a receipt when paying cash, except if it's 'under the table' in order not to have to pay the tax on it, because it won't be declared, then you don't get a receipt, that's the whole point of 'under the table' there is no papertrail...
Even worse is assuming that is the way legal reasoning actually operates. Do you honestly believe that she reached that position as a result of your logical reasoning? Be a judge and let us know how it goes. 🤡🤡🤡
This case was frustrating as hell. 0 straight answers.
I agree! so annoying
Very rare to see her that angry. The frustration coming off her was almost comical at the end because both sides were ridiculous.
When the mob goes from breaking knee caps to people's court.
I love it

😂😂😂
The plaintiffs did their very best to make fairly simple work sound like rocket science. 🙄
Surprised they didn't throw in terms like DHCP and DNS.
The only hard part of this job was the electrical. Installing the Ring and cameras and the router anybody can do.
😂😂
😂😂😂
RIGHT!! They were like “we wired the Ring camera.” For 7 months?!! 🙄
I couldn’t imagine having to look at all that junk all the time if I lived close to the defendant
All these years of court shows why are people still doing verbal agreements
crazy right.. smh
Any teenager would have done this in 30 minutes and would have accepted an illicit can of beer as payment.

Most likely they don’t want to want to itemize it in their taxes and that’s why they do all this bs.

Lol JM was getting a little irate because neither side had any proof, just their word... Smh
How those ppl are still in business is beyond me!
They have no business. They literally sit in an office fielding calls.😂
I was yelling right along with her. These men are children.
Still waiting for the "Thank you, Douglas" and "Rough Justice" t-shirts! 😊 Would love that soooo much!
They obviously had an agreement on price. Reasonable price and fair price 🤣🤣These guys are like characters out of Roger Rabbit.
The Defendant 's voice tho....

No contract, receipts and paid cash have they never watched the people's court?
Bad communication on both ends. No one is listening or explaining fully.
I love this judge!!! She’s got tude!!!
Neighbors must really love that attractive permanent yard sale next door.
Your my friend, so I am not going to show you the same respect I show my customers.
It took both parties 10 minutes to go round and round in a circular argument. 🤣😂😂😂

This guy has been having this yard sale for years now. I see it all the time when i get off the highway.
I installed and set up my own ring cameras in less time than this case took
All of this over talking one another is giving me a headache 🥴

There is a PEOPLE 'S COURT sign between the Defendants lol
The judge acts like a know it all lol
This should be interesting since I also had an issue with the company who installed security cameras inside and outside my home.
I hope you at least had a contract and receipts unlike these duds
@@bunji_beans I sure did. That it why I was refunded 75% of what I paid. The company did not want to litigate the matter.
