My horror story was similar to someone else’s. My daughter’s dog (large 55lb border collie mix) was in his kennel right next to an antique round table with some of my pinguiculas on it. I have small dogs and I get nervous they will get on his nerves so w3 kenneled him while we went out to dinner. I didn’t realize that a thunderstorm came through our area, we were at a different part of the city. Upon arriving at home, the table had been knocked over, soil was everywhere, pinguiculas and broken leaves and ID tags all over my floor. His kennel had traveled and he was panting heavily. We watched the indoor cameras and we realized we had a tstorm, I thought it was just rain. Her dog is extremely scared of storms/fireworks. I couldn’t be upset with the dog…it took me a couple of hours to repot the pings I could find, propped the leaves that were broken and cleaned up soil and what would be the equivalent to pon for carnivorous plants. A little over a month later I found a ping in the drip tray of my Orbifolia… it was doing just fine. 😂🤦🏻♀️ to this day I have a few pings that I have no idea who they are. I gave away the props to friends, took a few to work and gave some to my daughter for her fungus gnat problem. It killed me because I had grown a ping and it was so big! It was pinguiculas gigantea. Leaves grow back…sigh
awww that poor baby! that sounds like a nightmare to clean up. very true about leaving growing back though! I've seen pings pop up more, might have to check some out 👀
Number 1 scary movie is “The Sixth Sense” in my opinion! I just recently started watching Dave and he is very knowledgeable and funny. Dave is a great addition to “Plant-tube”. Thanks Ana for the great Halloween themed video ❤️👻🎃
The movie that scared me the most when I was little was Critters! I love horror movies. I would do ok in a horror movie because I wouldn't throw down what was in my hand.
Hey, thanks for the shout 😊 It'll be fun to see how we get along with out H. ellipticas. April considers that to be a really, really challenging plant. I got one gifted to me (of course 🤣), and my friend grows her beautifully in ambient room conditions. Another good'n, Ana
@@anawithplants No, no! We're just here to root for each other. Side note, I suddenly, in one day with no new video, had over 30 new subscribers. That's weird, right? (And, thanks again 😊)
Loved the video. I have never been able to stomach any kind of horror or even Halloween kind of movies. Even the more light-hearted have the potential to scare me. I'm kind of a wimp. Dave is great and I noticed he really likes you also.
Yes ma'am major fertilizer burn 😅i was super into Peperomia at the time and I tried to blame it on them when i was definitely the problem 😂😂 so im not sure if i have a favorite scary movie. My husband and i are nerdy and we like to watch folks play scary videos games and FNAF is our favorite. There are a couple of movies thay freaked me out as a kid (Thirteen Ghost and the grudge). Refuse to watch them until this day 😅 not sure if its an unusual fear but i dont like being in the dark. Favorite Halloween movie is Nightmare before Christmas. Halloween candy is M&Ms for chocolate and Nerds..... And I have absolutely dressed my pups up for Halloween 🧡🖤🧡🖤
lol lessons learned. 😂 oh yes the grudge scared me when I was a kid. haven't watched it since either! oo that just reminded me of another fear I have: camping at night. I will force myself to not the use the bathroom until daylight lol. the woods are so scary at night!
Your wilbur Graves is definetely a beauty!! Just saw "Quiet Place 2" and is a really good part two. My latifolia albomarginata also has only roots at the bottom of its cut
Japanese candy is the best. My husband was active duty Navy and we lived in Japan for 16 years. My kids are in their 20’s and still ask me to buy them Japanese candy. Luckily we live in Southern California so we have a lot of Japanese grocery stores.
Horror movie nightmare on elm street. Favorite Halloween movie is nightmare before Christmas and hocus pocus. I dressed up my dog Fluffy into a witch. I have had so many paranormal encounters.
Omg yes the movie heredity, blew my mind it stood with me a long time ago….( meaning I would replay certain scenes in my head) mainly of the mom towards the end Other than the Exorcist I’ve never been so disturbed by a movie the acting was just brilliant
Really love your Hoya collection. Mealybugs are the worst there were times that i wanted to give up collecting Hoya’s cause of that. I lost like 4 Hoya’s couldn’t save them even treated them like loads and just end up dumping them. I also watch Hocus Pocus every Halloween. The second one is ok good to know the story behind the 3 witches. I like Tim Burton movies i watch Beetlejuice and Edward Scissor hands aswell on Halloween. I don’t really like gore only one i would watch be Saw. I also hate those chick Horror movies like Scream were some girl is running upstairs instead of out the door doing stupid things. The ones that scared me are The Grudge. Also IT clowns just scare me in general. Also spiders make my hair rise up and gives me the chills. I love The Shining both movies.
honestly if hoyas are infested with mealies, sometimes it is just best to chuck it. I wasn't a fan of the second hocus pocus, but I agree it was nice to get some back story and I liked the cameos of that older actors! Tim Burton movies are classics for sure. I didn't know the Shining had a sequel?! might have to give that a watch.
The original Halloween movie. It's pretty much the only one I can watch because I've seen it so many times. My husband and daughter love scary horror. I do not😮
@@anawithplants its horribly gruesome dont feel obligated to watch it. its more gross than scary and will have you cringing out of your seat the whole time
The actual Conjuring house is only about 10 minutes from me. You can actually go there and spend the night lol. People that do are nuts, imo. 😳
omg! that's insane, I could never lol

The clemensiorum is stunning. Love the ruffled edges, the veins, the spotted leaves. What’s what not to like?😊

Your Wilbur Grave's genetics are amazing ! Just got myself a cutting, hoping it will grow very silvery like yours !

a rough mix of 50% pon, 25% tree fern fiber, and 25% pumice. thanks 🙂
