Many people panned Madam X. I saw her on tour and was blown away. This is art pop at its most powerful and at its best. I love your honest responses. Ageism is real. And appreciating an artist for his/her/their work on its face value is a wonderful thing. You’re beautiful!

Loved this journey and this era. Thank you for doing it.. I Rise also had an official music video release.. I wish this had have gained more traction and radio play.. There were potential worldwide hits within it but alas no airplay of exposure.. Faz Gostoso should have been released..It would have been a big hit in South America/Spain and Portugal x Anyhow.. So true. I Don't Search, I Find is another great song, and very radio friendly. It has strong "House influence" and also a "Vogue feel" to it. Not every song on the album is challenging to listen to. I Don't Search, I Find and Faz Gostoso are bops, also, without the video; God Control is not hard to listen to, and is super catchy, with it's strong disco vibes, swirling strings and amazing production. It is still quite multi-layered and polyphonic, but it's a highlight for sure.

Madame X is for sure a masterpiece, and I say that as a Madonna fan that actually likes the songs/the album, but this album may require multiple listens, but I promise you, this album will be an album of historical importance when all is said and done. It's not uncommon that a piece of art is not fully appreciated until years after it's put out there. I recommend the deluxe version; it has some amazing songs on it.
I think alot of people didn't connect to this album on the first listen. Its her appreciation of World Music, which most Americans were not ready for. However she once again introduced America to other music sounds and artists which is now mainstream and normalized thanks to Madonna. This album you listen to 2-3 times and that's when it really stays with you and the songs creep into your mind. It's a very underrated album.
You are smart, insightful, curious and beautiful. Truly enjoy every one of your reviews. I hope you review Madonna's tours someday (if you haven't already), I'd love to hear your take on them. Cheers!
Revisiting this reaction over a year later and love it so much. If you haven't had the chance to watch (or ideally react to) the Madame X tour/concert, I highly recommend it. It's on Paramount+ in the US.

This album is probably her best work she has done for a while. God control is a bit hard hitting and many dont want to hear the message as it’s rather raw.
If you reacted to and seen all of her music videos then it is probably time to go back and revisit all her tours from "The Virgin Tour" to "The Rebel Heart Tour" The Madame X tour has not been released yet and the speed things are happening with it, we probably won't see anytime soon! Haha
1. U look amazing! 2. I can’t believe she worked with Sway Lee. He’s a terrible performer and heavily auto tuned. I watched him and Post Malone perform Sunflower and he forgot his lyrics, and when he did sing he sounded terrible, and Post could tell, so to save the performance, Post started singing Sway’s part. He just doesn’t seem like the type of work ethic she usually works with.
I still can't believe 'Madame X' and these video' s weren't big hits or at least played more. Wake up people! MX is a masterpiece it's pure art and meaningful pop! Madonna is so underrated! Madame X is among her best work in my opinion.
Ageism is alive and well! Besides their being zero to very little airplay. The videos were criminally overlooked at all the award ceremonies. They should have been nominated at the very least. It is a shame not just for her as an artist, but also for the young directors who should have had public recognition for the beautiful creative MV's that they created with M and her other collaborators.
I feel that current music is genericized to the point where is no place for difficult subjects. Unfortunately it means there is not much appreciation for Madonna.

There’s a couple vids that come from soundtracks and other stuff that are definitely worth reacting to. Not sure if you’ve seen “Justify My Love” yet which was from her Immaculate Collection, “”You’ll See” which is the second part to Take A Bow and came off her ballads collection, “I’ll Remember” “Beautiful Stranger” and “This Used To Be My Playground”, all from soundtracks. There’s also a forgettable video for a song called “Hey You” which was for an earth benefit.

the major problem with this album, is that have beats that her fans didnt know. Specially the african ones (this type) or even the portuguese sounds. Political aspect or even her own personal journey for some, were against because it was too personal. While Ray of Light was madonna journey but it didnt felt personal, Madame X was her own personal believes and political. For me, it was one of her best albums... its on the same category as confessions, ray and bedtime...
Love God Control and the video is absolutely amazing but at the same time it just hurts my heart knowing what you guys have to go through with all this bullshit gun violence. Lets just hope eventually people who believe in their bulls**t gun rights will eventually do the right thing. Love from Australia

I saw her on my birthday during this eras tour I had the best time even though it took forever for the show to start it was so late I was exhausted and sweaty after the show it was like 3am after it ended but I didn’t let that effect my night like probably pretty much everyone else did. People complained way too much about this tour in my opinion
