I bet that it's Akainu himself that ends the Celestial Dragons. They're going to cross his sense of Absolute Justice one day and I wouldn't be surprised if he took them out for it.
Honestly I love his character because his sense of justice represents humanity ever since World War 2 ended. His actions, for when he destroyed the boat with the civilians is similar to the United States bombing Japan. The action was done because it was found as a necessity to avoid future conflict that might lead to more lives being lost. In Akainu's case, the scholars had access to information that could turn the World upside fucking down, so he couldn't lead anything to chance.
Yet, Nico survived, and her continued existence keeps on posing a threat to the World Government as long as she keeps breathing and gathering more information and allies.

Robb Stark pirates are criminals. The world needs a guy like Akainu who makes the toughest decision. The Marines were needed by the civillians who can't fight for themselves. The Marines protect the world, they need to. Believe me If you have to destroy a boat with civillians and a guy that has knowledge to create a bomb 25x stronger and easier to make than strongest Atomic Bomb known to men, what would you do? There are bigtime criminals in One Piece they can just kidnap the guy and torture him to make those bombs. It will be chaotic. You get what I'm saying here? What would your decision be? You have to make decision on the spot while the boat is getting away so don't blame Akainu for doing what's best for the world. And Luffy isn't a pirate, Luffy is an adventurer.

HOLY SHIT! I just realized that the two main bad people are Akainu and Blackbeard. One representing "Absolute Justice" and the other representing "Absolute Choas" with them being equally evil. What Oda is trying to tell us is that too much of anything is at extremes. Edit: Ace was good because he was chaos in moderation and Coby is justice in moderation.

What else could you call them? Outlaws? What difference would that make? They're seeking freedom, so they're criminals in the eyes of the government regardless of what they call themselves. I mean this is a world taking place almost entirely in the sea so piracy is more normal in that sense.
Not all Marines are bad so when Luffy declared war against them is fucking stupid. Oda is giving the marines a bad name in this anime when the One Piece world is huge as fuck, I'm quite sure there are more marines doing rheir jobs properly and keeping civilians safe from criminals.

An old, sick, tired, severely injured Whitebeard, hit Akainu once and he had broken ribs and was bleeding a good amount. A healthy, younger Whitebeard would fuck Akainu up. The most credit I'm willing to give Akainu is that he maybe can kill Blackbeard. No more.

Akainu probably is my favorite admiral. I don't usually pick favorites based on superficial stuff like "He looks cool" but that's pretty much how it is for me with him. I really like his design, his powers, I love his voice actor in the anime. He's just a cool-ass dude.

Generally a mentality shared by many lawful evil characters and real people alike. When you mentioned him ordering the killing of the evacuees, I realized this is his core ideology.

Interesting to note that only Akainu out of all the marines has prominent tattoos which are considered taboo and a symbol of criminals in Japan. His tattoo closely resembles traditional Yakuza tattoo designs (Much like Ashura Doji and Boss Hyogoro's tattoos)

Akainu's honestly one of my favorite characters. The fucker is durable as shit, he survived not one, but 2 hits from WB, one of those breaking Marineford itself, then he still fucking chased after pirates like 2 minutes afterwards.

Akainu is easily one of the strongest in the series at the moment. Being able to fight Whitebeard one on one whilst dealing him a tonne of damage and being largely undamaged and then being able to deal with the rest of the Whitebeard pirates including Marco. In addition being able to fight Aokiji for 10 days straight and eventually win and permanently change the landscape of Punk Hazard. He is OP.
lots of people make the statement that ace had the weaker devil fruit just because of the way he died but I think you over looked the fact that the admiral was gonna kill luffy, I think it makes sense that ace intentionally took the blow as it was the only way to save luffy from the magma punch... think about it.

actually sabotage could solo akin f he can master his fruit because fire is hotter than magma and if he trains haki to be a bit stronger boom sabotage destroys him or if enel dies and someone gets the goro goro lightning is hotter than magma and fire so boom akin get destroyed

So I came across what's called a "dirty thunderstorm", which is a a weather phenomenon that is related to the production of lightning in a volcanic plume. It would be sick if Akainu can recreate this phenomenon and do Enel-like attacks (although it would probably be useless against Luffy).

If I had to take a guess as to what happened I think i would go with this: Maybe at some point as a marine, either he was working for someone or was an admiral, he probably saw an event where they didn't eliminate everyone, maybe he watched a civilian ship leave? and what happened was the people they were trying to destroy had gotten on that ship, and because that ship was never sunk more people died, probably in horrific ways, and he figured from that day forward he would destroy everything if he had to, to make sure an event like that never happened again.

Given the nature of his power. Akainu could easily reduce an entire island to smoldering magma quite easily. Kizaru's attacks are fast and cause large explosions. but we have never seen him use an attack that covers a wide area.

+GoldCobra/ Arima gravity fruit would be far the strongest scientificly. gravity is one of the 4 rules of the universe. causes black holes and can bend light.... now one piece doesnt go by science at all. theres so many examples. fire burns hotter then magma and lighting can melt rubber.... magma fruit is pretty o.p in one piece logic

Say they are pursuing a criminal who hides in a town:
Aokiji would say he will get him next time.
Kizaru would search every single house and perhaps blow a few up by accident.
Akainu would burn the town down.
