It would be a challenge to find oxtail in my area, but I make a point to look for it. We don't eat much beef but we usually have beef stew, burgers on the grill and a rump roast one or twice a year. So glad to see you are teaching your son to be comfortable in the kitchen. Also happy you are getting rain after this long, hot dry summer. It is truly a blessing in our area. My dad was a cattle farmer and I had oxtail soup growing up. I agree it is very good. When I have a chance to get some oxtail bones, that is what I make with it. Thanks for sharing!

I have never used oxtail but this looks like a stick-to-your-ribs soup/stew. A slice of cornbread would go great with this meal. 1st time to your channel. You are so brave to even volunteer to do this collaboration with a newborn baby. So wonderful that you also have little helpers in the kitchen. My son is 39.5 years old and the only time I saw him in the kitchen when preparing anything is when it was time to lick the peanut butter cookie beaters and spoon. I live alone and mostly order my food online or get from the food bank..oxtail is not available from those places, but appreciate the recipe nonetheless. Thank you

I started making it once we started getting a 1/2 beef order each year and I asked the butcher to get EVERY odd and uncommon cut for me. I ended up with 3 packs of oxtail and this soup was born! Wow! That looks amazing and I can totally see how you would crave it. I’ve never had oxtail but I’ve made “soup bone” stew. Idk what part of the cow it’s from but the bones look very similar. I got the soup bones from my brother-in-law who had purchased a whole cow for processing. We ate on that soup a few days and still had some to put in the freezer. Thank you so much for sharing.

Our oxtail from our last order have long ago been eaten so for this video I did pick up these oxtail from a local farm. This was the last pound he had on his shelves! And yes a bit pricey for sure! I'm sure there's a lot of good flavor because of cooking it four 8 to 10 hours. Molasses is an interesting ingredient to use and I suppose it could go in beef stew also. That's one thing I like in the Chop Suey that I make. Thank you for sharing.

Grew up eating oxtail soup very tasty. My mom would make it like vegetable beef soup. Alway ribsticking and tasty. I never thought to put molasses I definitely will try that if I can find oxtail.
