Guess what? I'm an American, born and raised in rural Alabama, been living in Hungary for 12 years now. People ask me " why do stay there in Hungary?" and just as you I tell them I stay because i love it!
Willie Gevertz sounds like a fascinating individual who has embraced Hungarian culture and is actively working to share it with the world. His decision to stay in Hungary for four years, engage in vlogging about Hungarian history, translate folk tales, and promote the Hungarian language and traditions reflects a deep connection and passion for the country. It's heartwarming to hear about his personal life as well, especially with the recent engagement and the plans for dual weddings in Hungary and the United States. This cross-cultural connection is a beautiful example of how individuals can bridge different worlds and celebrate diverse backgrounds.
Hello Willie, I just discovered your channel and I'm already in love with it. Good content. I'm Brazilian living in Szeged and I'm trying to learn the Hungarian language as well. God bless you and your family, such a wonderful mindset and approach to life! Think it's great for the Hungarians to see their reality through another lense :) Budapest is blossoming, better believe it!
As a Greek. I'm really inspired by your work. I want to follow your footsteps, and I'm currently writing a book about Hungary. Btw.,it would be great to see you collaborate with Stuffed Cabbage Adventures. Probably the best Hungarian urban explorer
Kudos to you from a Hungarian ancestor firstborn in USA. My mothers family came from Herzegfalva now Mezofalva in rhe province of Fejer. They were tobacco farmers. Unfortunately they were pulled into a very unfair situation after WW2. Because they were ethnic Germans who lived many generations in Hungary but were ordered out of the country by the Potsdamn Agreement, the removal of ethnic Germans from Eastern Europe. My grandmother always had tears in her eyes over her village. They spoke German yet when the discussion became serious they spoke Hungarian! They are all gone now but someday I would love to make it back there and see that village she and her family were pulled from!
