- Balboa Village is located at Balboa Peninsula which is a neighborhood of the city of Newport Beach, Orange County, California. Balboa Village has been around since 1936, providing family-friendly fun to visitors from both the local area, as well as people who come in from all over the country and world.
The Balboa Pier is one of two piers located in the city of Newport Beach. Located in Balboa Village is the Balboa Fun Zone, it is one of Southern California’s oldest and last great coastal amusement areas and a popular family-friendly attraction for visitors to Newport Beach. Visitors can enjoy rides on the waterfront Ferris Wheel, play games in the arcade or tour the nautical museum while enjoying their favorite beach treats. This is also a popular place to rent bikes, harbor cruises, whale watching or take off for a day trip to nearby Catalina Island on the Catalina Flyer.

I was there over the summer and decided to move to Laguna Beach. You're walking the exact spot I was at and yes it's worth EVERY penny to live there.

It's been 20 years since I was at the Fun Zone. The memories came in a flood as I spent a lot of time in the Peninsular Point area. It is essentially the same. The character has not changed a bit. The shops have probably come and gone but the ferris wheel the ultimate swing, all those were there in 1999. Track about 100 yards up the beach from the pier is the spot where my friends and I spotted 6 dolphins headed south. Their backs emerged as they swam by and one of them flipped his tail. Great fabric woven into my life.

hmmmmm, how can i say this....the people who fish on the pier really get on my nerves. especially the ones on long beach pier. they think they own the pier and sometimes you can even get a good viewing spot because of them..........other then that, great video.
You get the the same view from the beach....so quit complaining about them putting the pier to it's other normal uses such as fishing.

I hate to put it this way the the guy fishing at time stamp 9:36 is using his rod and reel upside down. If he where to catch any thing doing that, it would most likely break the rod. What a idiot. Oh, and no one is trying to tell him different.
