UA-cam isn't choosing ads for you. It's putting the ad space up for auction between advertisers, and gives each of them VERY basic info about you- genres you like, apps you have, how much money you spend through google services, how much time you spend watching videos, how much you click on ads, etc., it's not much and at the same time it's deceptively informative. Each advertiser will use the info to decide how much you are worth paying for, and then give their price to google. The highest bidder (or sometimes 2nd highest, because of game theory shenanigans) wins the auction, and google will show their ad to you. Yes, all of this happens in a few seconds. Remember when youtube mostly had unobtrusive banner ads, and ONE ad that stopped you from watching the video you actually clicked on was too far? Yeah. I don't care who google sends,I am not watching ads.
This has been a thing for probably two years now. At the that time I started getting an ad every 90 seconds pretty consistently... then they started adding pretentious ten minute advermentories for liquor, cars or some something (Google occasionally thinks I'm a rich Japanese-Korean-Mexican... it gets weird when you tell it to not record your history for anything), or worse... 3 hour podcasts. The long ads also seemed to happen more if I set a video to play in the background and then set my phone down... like the app was watching the motion sensors and would play longer ads when it thought I was likely to be far from my phone. I can't believe that anyone at Google thought this was a good Idea and wouldn't just drive everyone to the forbidden arts of an exiled New York digital plumber and cat enjoyer.
This is actually on old issue. I remember atleast 1-2 years ago they came out and said that demonetized videos will still have ads. And just like here, they would put TONS of ads too
The adflation is real. The value of advertising is rapidly approaching that of the Zimbabwean dollar... which is expected when companies like Google rely so heavily on marketing products to people who don't have the money to buy them in the first place.
This is what youtube does to what they consider "undesirables". In an attempt to make them leave the platform out of frustration. We won't pay you for ads, but we're going to shotgun blast your content with ads and take all the money.

Uhh... Was this supposed to be published lol
Our foxu is making waves.
How strange, I've never had any ads when I watch them (trollface scratch)
YT has somehow become a thousand times worse than cable television had ever been.
Ad blockers and/or video downloaders + watch on your local machine files.
UA-cam (and the internet in general) is UNUSABLE these days WITHOUT an adblocker, and UA-cam only has itself to blame.
An average of 1 ad each 2m:40s on that particular VOD. literally unwatchable. It's on purpose, given the subjects touched on these streams.
The literal who armor is being chipped away...
I use Brave, I forget that YT has ads unless I'm on my phone
This is what youtube does to what they consider "undesirables". In an attempt to make them leave the platform out of frustration. We won't pay you for ads, but we're going to shotgun blast your content with ads and take all the money.
If these were all ads for the korsche it world be a reasonable amount
For some reason i thought a UA-cam video mocking UA-cam ads got demonetized.
Hmm.
Love how this proves that them demonetizing videos for saying no-no words because the Ad companies don't like them is bullshit. They will just take any opportunity they can to not pay people.
Not really sure how you expected to be treated even decently on UA-cam. You knew what would happen.
So, Google makes money from the advertisers, then stiffs the content creators. Seems legit.
Damn
Sorty, I gotta pause my add's to watch game awards add's for comming games.
