That 7-9 H- Moderate is pretty need. Can you perform a 2 handed cast with it 🤔 My weapon of choice is an 8ft6 (cast up to 180 gr) for 6.......8 (10) inch silicone baits 😅🎣
Hard to beat the magdrafts even considering a lot of people are throwing them these days. I'm originally from southwest Ohio, moved to southern SC just over 2 years ago now. This was my 3rd spring. I've been throwing the 6 & 8's about 4 years now. I've lost count of how many solid fish they have caught me!? The 8 & 10 is my go to down here along with some glide baits in that size range. It's been my experience the 8 - 10" baits have great drawing power & still get #'s if you're in the right areas. 1st year down here I upgraded my PB largemouth to 7.9 Then last year I crushed that 4 times with an 8.0 - 8.6 - 9.3 & my current an 11.4 Nothing more fun than throwing big baits in the kayak!
Awesome video thanks you . I have some 5" Big Joshys and 5" 6th Sense trace I want use them first before picking up a Magdraft. At the Walmarts in Texas had the big Cull Shads and Magdrafts which I wasn't surprised. There are several channels that produce big catches on the Magdrafts so they definitely work. The issues I had with the Yamamoto Yamatanuki was my hook set and the brand of hooks. I switched all hooks out the next day after losing 2 back to back fish
For big swimbaits the magdrafts are actually not expensive. Some of these baits get ridiculous! I haven't gone that far down the rabbit hole yet. My most expensive baits are the drt klash 9's.
Here in western Ma. I fish a lot of small lakes and large ponds that are loaded with vegetation and wood cover so I prefer the freestyle. I fish them on a 7/0 Gamakatsu weighted swimbate hook. I prefer the Gamakatsu hooks to other brands because the weight is more towards the back or bend of the hook giving it a more natural fall when you kill it.
Picked up a 6” Cull Shad ( saved a couple bucks from the Magdraft ) and had a blast way it !!! No bigs but landed 4 solid bass and had a few jokers bite at the tail . I see an 8” and a couple different colors in my future

I have 3 6inch Mags on their way.
I am new to the big swing baits. So thanks for the info brother 🙏
No problem 👍
Great information thank you
My pleasure brother!
The 8” and the Cullshad are my go to baits when I looking for size and not numbers.
Nice, getting paid! Only rocking the 6" for now. I respect the information hombre.

Yea had a 4 to 5 lber throw mine yesterday. 6 inch in pearl white.
RIGHT ON!
Ive had some huge followers on the mag but never hooked any but i know its a killer bait
Spring and Fall this lure makes the appearance
I just got a 6in this week. It has a belly hook instead of the mag line through.
I got a 1/4 ball head I painted snagged. When I pulled it up, I thought this was going after my jig 😊
Just bought the 6”. Can’t wait to try. Thanks for feeding my habit.
Hope you enjoy it!
Brother, you know I already watched that lol.
Chris zaldain has a video that explains to straighten out 1 of the hooks so it goes deep into the plastic. Helps hold it better
That would work for a few casts.. but then after the barb destroys the plastic... not so much
@wendellfishing rip, I haven't tried it yet I've only wet mine about twice. Been waiting to buy the right combo. Thanks for letting me know
How do they hold up in pike waters?
Chew toys :)
Was that MJF theme music at the end?
Oh man... it's been a while since I cut it. I don't remember
