Aaron Gordon to Denver is slowly becoming one of the smartest moves in league history. Him and Jokic are proving that high percentage shots and accurate passing can be just as deadly, if not deadlier, than a thousand threes per game.
Exactly. He makes it alot easier for jokic. All jokic has to do is toss the ball anywhere near the hoop and Gordon just comes out of nowhere and dunks it.

It is not like they don’t have the personnel to shoot 3s. 3s are not the only option for Denver. In playoffs, you need to create high percentage, low variance shots more than anything. But if you give Denver open 3s, nobody will hesitate to shoot them.
A thousand threes per game is 3000 points, so maybe not.
Happy for Gordon essentially reviving his career in Denver.

Jokic is a great passer but gordon is unbelievable receiver and finisher that's some difficult passes..

I think this is one of the biggest upsides to Murray being out the past couple years. AG and Joker got so many reps in as a duo, developing chemistry as the engine of the offense. Now with healthy MPJ and Murray in the mix there are just so many lethal scoring options on this team.

If you had to build a complimentary player to Jokers strengths and weakness, AG would be as close as perfect as you could make it. His ability to finish lobs, especially behind the head at all angles is crazy. Can defend the other teams top big or wing, elite athlete. Probably one of the most underrated trades in a long team. Good example of team building and putting together the right pieces.
If he shot the threes at 40-45% that would be the perfect labmade Jokic partner. But AG is good enough not to be left alone on 3point so its fine 😊
Yes if he was like 6’10 with the same hops that would be perfect but at that point he’s basically Giannis with worse defense, which who I stand by would be the perfect partner for Jokic
He is also a great passer. Able to pass to Jokic for an easy layup or three point.
I didn't like it that muchw hen the trade was made, but AG has more than won me over. IDK about close to perfect though.
I always thought Jokic would best be paired with a long athletic 4 - as close to AD/Giannis or even JJJ as you can get. Like 6'10+, long wing span, paint protector & help defender, plus lob threat, etc. Would cover Jokic's paint protection weakness more.
AG isn't that... but he was so, so good as a man defender this run that I am more than happy with the roster now. Not a perfect fit, but a good enough one, and his attitude is just a really, really good one. He deserves this and he has grown a lot to fill the role, so good seeing the playmaking he is capable of now. Game 4 of the finals convinced me that he shouldn't be traded even for a more perfect 4, he just will not let Jokic or this team down.
Probably better to have that kind of big wing man defender against Boston or something like that anyway.
And maybe Jokic will grow enough as a paint protector that that won't be an issue.

To see that Suns were the only team that managed to make Denver sweat is just unreal. What a run for Denver in this postseason. If they manage to continue playing like this in the next season they can make it to the finals easily.
Suns did it by extremely high percentage shooting from Booker and Durant. It wasn’t really a reliable solution to maintain for 7 games. Denver on the other hand has low variance offensive options. They are not living with midrange shots.

Aaron Gordon is a freak of nature. His size and athletic ability is off the charts. He is virtually impossible to stop when he has the ball within 10 feet of the basket.
And Denver is showing everyone how to play a team sport; no ego, just finding the open man for the highest percentage basket. What a pleasure to watch.

Meanwhile, MPJ is known for his catch & shoot prowess & rebounding.
