Yep. All these guys people are beginners, who'll become intermediates with practice, but no amount of insults will make an intermediate into an excellent expert. A man who probably once was better, and who has done much more in music, than the person who made this video, if they can even play better than he plays now.
Heres the deal, it's not cool to make fun of beginners. But this I'd say is an exception because these people put themselves on the internet knowing full well they're not that good yet. And they have no skills to. If they were actually practicing then I would understand. They think you just pick up the guitar and move your hands fast. Laziness is cringy and funny.
It's also the fault of those who tell them they can play and sing. Most are tone deaf so they will never be able to play the guitar with any amount of skill. Most have no sense of timing. A crazy character to whom, during his concerts in clubs of Rome, it was customary to throw vegetables and other things (sometimes a chicken, sometimes yogurt ....) while he was playing :D :D . It is said that he was once a good guitarist but that an illness had made him in these conditions
Christopher Cheeseman yeah, for example I just started playing bass guitar and well as I started I didn’t even know how to touch the strings lol. And I agree with your comment
Everyone defending "beginners" Beginners don't get record deals for a reason. Nobody wants to hear you if you're shit, it's okay if you're a beginner but don't put it on the Internet. Don't film your shitty playing, just get better.
+Robert96902 it does guarantee that people will make fun of them, I didn't send a single video of me playing bass to even my closest friends until I saw myself as good enough to show off a little, now I can do some gimmicky shit like the typical "PLAY STAIRWAY!" joke and then play metallica riffs that people know... point is, don't want time filming yourself if you're shit... wait till you're decent
what about filming progression to bein good? people do it all the time, the videos were taken out of context they COULD have been a REFERENCE, you dont have to be stupid and post a comment without thinking.
These kinds of people were probably told by a professional musicians "dissonance is beautiful" but they took it too far and think that they're geniuses lol.
2:07 doesn't deserve to be on the comp. He was a great prog guitarist in the 70s, then developed arthritis a few decades later and couldn't play like he used to anymore.
I'm sure the first time they picked up a guitar, jimmy page and Kirk hammet sounded like these guys, but it's still funny, looking back, I would always practice guitar while I was in a Skype call with some friends, and I was horrible, they didn't need to hold back on telling me how bad I was, but every night I practiced, and I still do, and now I'm working on finding gigs with my band, made a song, and have gotten better, that doesn't mean that they sound good, but if they stick with it, they will get god eventually.
To be honest I believe the people in this video are the people that only got a guitar to make themselves seem cool, you can tell when someone learns something to sound cool because they'll sound like shit. I have a friend who's been playing for 8 years lacking any dedication and I passed him up tenfold in 7 months of playing because I practice for hours daily and constantly work to perfect my songs. I don't like I've fallen more in love with doing something in my life and I never get tired of playing. I don't know my skill level even though I know it's pretty low, but the difference between 1 and 2 years of experience ends up being astonishing.
It isnt the fact that they are bad. Its the fact that they can't here that they are bad at that moment and they upload their crap on the internet. Everyone has to learn and suck when they pick up any instrument. It is part of the proces. But why making other people suffer by sharing this proces with them?
Kamil Jurewicz Amen to that. If you've just started playing, don't put any shitty videos of it on youtube. The result will make you wanna stop playing guitar forever.
+Sawyer H. not really the same. I made a spelling mistake (should have double checked no argument there) but I did not write an essey littered with typos so readers were unable to understand what I was trying to say. If those guys would miss one note...I would not complain. instead they are rarely hitting the correct ones :)
I clicked on this for a late night laugh but what I watched were a bunch of young people (for maybe the exception of one or two) that were clearly beginners. Even Vai had to learn. I can't fault young people for recording themselves playing a riff or trying to play something so they can watch it back. We guitarists have all done that at some point whether it be by webcam, cellphone, recording software etc.
+Connor Burkhardt Some people are arrogant regardless but some young people don't post things online for critique but to share with others. Many reasons can lead to someone sharing a video ..... not just for applaud.
+Connor Burkhardt I also recorded a few vids of me playing my guitars for the first time. Normally i am more into synths and drum machines but i always wanted to play the guitar and never had the chance in my 36 years of existence untill i traded one of my synths with one. I ordered some pedals for it and recorded a video of me messing around with it so my subscribers know what's up :p It's literally me holding a guitar for the first time!! And it was AWESOME!!! xD But yeah, a few months after that i traded another synth for a sweet 'n' sexy Yamaha RGX 421DM (1994) and already made a looped New Wave styled track with it (basically a test). In my case it was just for fun i recorded my noobstyle guitar vids and for some of my subscribers to let them know what i'm up to and what my future plans are. I also think it's a "proud thing" of having a guitar and showing that you work on it. You know, "yearn to learn". I think all these kids/people in the vid are just "proud" and are willing to learn.
+Pg TrAxX Cool man. I agree too. When I first started learning guitar and realized I could do a little of what famous bands did I was jumping at the opportunity to record haha .... I just take it in stride and try to help anyone that I can that is learning. Shoot, I am still learning all these years later and a Steve Vai I am certainly not. lol
+MrJbinchrist Yeah, it's just fun playing around with it and in the meantime getting used to the fretboard and train those muscles you didn't think existed. like WTF pinky! It's going to be a long road that i can tell. A few weeks ago i traded YET another synth with a T-bird bassguitar (Epi.) and that's a nice pace of change in between and still training those muscles. I would recommend having both if you get the chance. How long exactly do you play (or mess around with) guitar?
The guy at 2:24 is actually an incredible guitar player, but he ended up developing terrible arthritis which made it impossible for him to play how he used to. He's trying to play without adjusting for the arthritis and going simply off his original instincts.
It's been five years. I hope whoever's in that video got better. I just started playing guitar during the pandemic about 7 months ago. Still got more to learn and I love the journey so far.
@The Brightside of Pluto Yep, I'm still playing but not as often as I used to because I went to college. I got to play every weekend when I got home. The problem is I'm not making much progress lately. People told me to go to guitar classes and sessions but I couldn't afford it. The free tutorial on UA-cam doesn't seem to be in the right order. I think I need more guidance.

This is what classical guitars see when they watch modern guitarists
The second guy with the red guitar and Iron Maiden t-shirt isn't even that bad. I wouldn't have included him in this clip tbh.
None of these guys are terrible, just beginners needing to practice.
And tuning.
+Clarissa McPigeon nahh dude it sounded like wet farts
What are you talking it was so bad lmao
+Clarissa McPigeon before you can become good you must already be bad
When you're this bad, you dont need feedback...you need to fucking practice. Lean a whole song, THEN try to upload it.
2:07 thinking he's Cliff Burton lmao
He actually faked his death
:D His name is Richard Benson. He is an Italian guitarist of British origin.. A crazy character to whom, during his concerts in clubs of Rome, it was customary to throw vegetables and other things (sometimes a chicken, sometimes yogurt ....) while he was playing :D :D .
It is said that he was once a good guitarist but that an illness had made him in these conditions
Well... You gotta start somewhere
Yeah, somewhere.
But not on youtube, NEVER on youtube.
Zilhad Lmao, true man
Christopher Cheeseman yeah, for example I just started playing bass guitar and well as I started I didn’t even know how to touch the strings lol. And I agree with your comment
Never buy an electric as your first guitar, NEVER
el estresado de la esquina why
0:44 This is why you don't record yourself when you are learning...
Everyone defending "beginners"
Beginners don't get record deals for a reason. Nobody wants to hear you if you're shit, it's okay if you're a beginner but don't put it on the Internet. Don't film your shitty playing, just get better.
+Misha Chalyan Okay that's what private messaging and inboxes are for.
Well they have the right to record themselves and post it, but that doesn't guarantee that people will make fun of them lol
+Robert96902 it does guarantee that people will make fun of them, I didn't send a single video of me playing bass to even my closest friends until I saw myself as good enough to show off a little, now I can do some gimmicky shit like the typical "PLAY STAIRWAY!" joke and then play metallica riffs that people know... point is, don't want time filming yourself if you're shit... wait till you're decent
deeingalaplike DURRR SIC BRUN
what about filming progression to bein good? people do it all the time, the videos were taken out of context they COULD have been a REFERENCE, you dont have to be stupid and post a comment without thinking.
I didn't see Lil' Wayne or Nick Jonas on this so its not complete
ethan barry nick Jonas isn't that bad.
Putting nick jonas on here would be like putting kurt cobain here because nick jonas is just sloppy but that is his style like kurt cobain
Come on 😐😐 we all know Lil Wayne is the best guitar player in speed technique and accuracy, even Steve t tries hard to imitate him. But he cant
Vlady Martinez That just made my day xD
tHE STROKES THO
Conspiracy_Red I wish I was jimmy Page.
Tan well if that's how Kirk sounds you must sound completely disgraceful.
Kuro Kanashii You'll sound like shit when it's your first time playing a guitar lmao
Brett-Spangler I too someday hope to get god,
Most of these were kids screwing around
3:19 I think you're supposed to plug in an amplifier but you're the expert
It's just quiet his amp

So that's Modern Art?
Hi, again!
Cobain 92 yeah I guess
Why tf do I keep seeing you lmao
Cobain 92 sadly
no, modern art is pissing in a bottle and calling it feminism
Still better than Lil Wayne.
well a disabled midget with down syndrome, no pulse and no guitar can play better than lil wayne

How to sound good as a beginner: power chords
Eric Francis exactly
It's true... (I use It alot)
I need grunge sounds
ASMR Player
Same
Not everyone is born as John Petrucci, Dave Mustaine or Eddie van Halen. But even they had to practise for a long time before they became Guitar Gods.
Practice

@@page970 and it’s mustaine not mustang
Or George Lynch
1:58 would've sounded better if he was in tune
True
idk why but pisses me off that he holds it like a bass
+Angel Zavala 02:11 is the real way to play bass :^V lmao
+Angel Zavala There's no precise way to hold a bass nor is there an indefinitely right way to hold a guitar
+Paul Centeno i think it's more of the picking hand with how they picked it? maybe idk
you got to start with somethimg right ?
And at least they trying
What. No they aren't.
Unlike you when you type
0:27 sounds like a crying duck 😂😂😂
The vibrato😹😹😹😹😹
wait how do you know that?
2:07 just sounds like a frog taking a massive violent shit
Lmfao!!!!
I thought that the guy was fingerless!!!
askreo lol
Sounds like he was raping a song
askreo Oh my god, I can't stop fucking laughing 😂
2:09 NOOOO THAT BEAUTIFUL MUSICMAN BONGO IS ABUSED :-(
1:58 not even tuned

Play with a pick: no
Play in tune: no
Play a guitar like a bass: yes
0:43 I COULDA SWORN I HEARD THIS SOMEWHERE
Some of these guys are just practicing, it looks like some of these should have never left the hard drive of their computers.
well.. this made me feel a lot better about my guitar skills. (beginner)
Ssaiyan GodsS same
I feel like a legend now 😂😂😂
the dude playing come as you are had his guitar tuned wrong and he played his notes the wrong way round
Keelan Auker hahaha!!! It sounded awful! I haven't got a musical ear yet so I couldn't tell what was going on. Now I can 😂😂
Keelan Auker oh yah
Keelan Auker yeah, it made me want to aim a shot gun to my mouth
2:06 he's my spirit animal
I guess as a beginner I'm not bad. compared to these guys
Brandon LaPrise I thought I sucked
The Frözenfires same XD
Well, I do suck. I stopped practising early this year so that may be the reeason why
Yeah, I’m still learning, and it’s safe to say that I’m better than these guys.
Yeah you suck, you're a beginner.
But you're not dumb like these guys to record themselves.
Except for the guy with the bass. He actually plays like shit
+Kamil Jurewicz
Yeah that's what I thought
+Sawyer H. not really the same. I made a spelling mistake (should have double checked no argument there) but I did not write an essey littered with typos so readers were unable to understand what I was trying to say. If those guys would miss one note...I would not complain. instead they are rarely hitting the correct ones :)
+Sawyer H. haha nice one. considering english is not my native language I'm still doing better with it then these guys with their instruments.
Making fun of others when you can't even normalize volume in a video...
Joe Smith 😂
Joe Smith yup
🤣😂
3:18 when mom says "you aren't allowed to use the amp"
"Laughs in guitar to usb cable"
Well, looks like I didnt make the list... yet.
0:58 The Joker gives his first cords at the therapy center!!!
I'm surprised lil Wayne isn't on this list.
1:57 Ain't the best but hell, at least it sounded like the actual song.
His guitar wasn't tuned properly,
Nah he's clearly way out of tune
sounds like me!!
ok, I shouldn't be that mean to myself... lol
alexander sjolund you need to respectate yourself.
HTC pilot Respectate?
I clicked on this for a late night laugh but what I watched were a bunch of young people (for maybe the exception of one or two) that were clearly beginners. Even Vai had to learn. I can't fault young people for recording themselves playing a riff or trying to play something so they can watch it back. We guitarists have all done that at some point whether it be by webcam, cellphone, recording software etc.
Recording yourself to see how you're playing is one thing, but fooling yourself into thinking it's good enough to post on the Internet is another
+Connor Burkhardt Some people are arrogant regardless but some young people don't post things online for critique but to share with others.
And it was AWESOME!!! xD
But yeah, a few months after that i traded another synth for a sweet 'n' sexy Yamaha RGX 421DM (1994) and already made a looped New Wave styled track with it (basically a test).
Admit it. You never thought failing at an acoustic guitar was possible until you saw this.
0:15 I CANT STAND THE HEAVY NESS OF THIS RIFF
To where an iron maiden t shirt and somehow be terrible at the guitar is really hard!
+G Cole Shitting on people for being bad at the guitar while simultaneously being shit at grammar is really hard!
That's what u guys get when you let lill Wayne teaches you/your kid to play guitar
This is why i didn't record myself for a VERY long time😂😂
The guy playing the bass was actually a great guitarist at some point. But then he got arthritis and couldn’t play without hurting himself.
slash wasnt born a guitarist ya know?
yeah but they problem is that they filmed themselves sucking, lol
Yahya Abulfaraj slash isnt that great of a guitarist tho lol.
slash also didn't film himself playing some horrible trash and put it online
But, he was born with the hat. True story
The Gamer Room this comment cured my depression, thank you
If you can't play. Practice until you can. Very simple.
I sometimes record myself playing guitar so I can see my mistakes
Me too! I've been playing a lot of flatpicking, it's a good way to catch mistakes and work on consistency! Good flow...
I'm better then both of you.
The yiu suck
That' cool to hear, just refrain from recording yourself in the process, or you'll end up in one of these videos XD
@@joebrandon2871depends on where you’re at atm I’d suggest learning a few scales and playing to backing tracks can get you some good improvement skills

+jimmy john With practice yes. We all started off like this. I just think most of us were smart enough not to post a video until we could play. The guy at 2:07 was epic thou...
I love how in the last clip, even though he isn't plugged in, we still can hear distortion because his guitar is buzzing like a fucking bee hive XD
