It would be cooler if little people would come in and inhabit the place as you’re building it.
That would be awesome! imagine lil ships coming in and out of the harbor, people walking around.... it would be cool.
Even cooler on top of that is certain patterns produces certain buildings which will pop out certain people.
@@rolandaustria7926 hell yeah dude
First Person explorer view would be so great
i was thinking the same thing
This would make an AMAZING tool for designing tabletop gaming maps. With modding support the possibilities would be virtually endless. I mean, it even has a built in grid. It's like it was meant to be!
Yeah, modders are gonna have a field day with this.
Already design one of my cities in the book im writing. Hopefully it goes well
Agree. It would also be cool to have, like a zoom out function to build a regional map, and then a continental map of sorts. It should have more options to build each town. Maybe adding different roads, wall, bridges, some balconies, different types of roof. Train tracks, etc.
Me, 1 minute into this video: "What the hell kind of city builder game is this?"
Me, 2 minutes into this video: *puts the game in my Steam cart*
Hahaha same here
me exactly
ban can phien dich chu
And then you realise it's from the same guy: oskarstalberg.tumblr.com/
Even the game is just build I love it
Sold. I really cannot afford to spend even just 5 dollars right now on something that isn't essential...but my mental health is essential, too, isn't it? That calm, inoffensive music in the background, the bloop-bloop sounds as you build...it's just so peaceful. My entire life is one roaring dumpster fire right now...my mental health is worth 5 dollars, isn't it?
If you think it'll help with your mental, then PLEASE get it. Especially in todays world we all need a bit of mental relaxation.
the music isn’t a part of the game i believe
yes
Did you get this? If not, I can Venmo you the cash if you're still stuck
Renée Daniëls it is
This game would be so cool for creating cities for DnD campaigns!
I already have ideas
That was my first thought as soon as I heard about this.
they should add a grass or water choice for that exact reason
Can't wait to show you the castle in the thumbnail TOMORROW! This game is great!
How is ur day going good sir
Can u try to make an over head walk way over the road
Sub People: Ahhhhh Why tomorrow
People with big brains: CUS HE NEEDS TO SLEEP AND GET SOME REST AND UA-cam
Hey raptor is could have been mislead but if you put an arch over water, like the harbor it creates a crane. Sorry if it isn’t true I still haven’t tried it
@Raptor If you make a building atleast three stories high and three thick, then delete a block somewhere in the middle. You get a nice recessed balcony with French doors, it works on ground level too. But the building must be three squares thick..
I live in Veneto and i think we should call this game “Venice building simulator”
If the game allows people to mod it, I'll definitely see a 100% real Venice in this game
I think the name chosen for the game is great tho
@Polarisque you need to have the big brain and creative to be able to add simulator to an fitting name for sn gayme, are I right my friends!
More like Generaly European Building Sim.
Nice stolen comment e
Ideas for this game: Yes, definitely expand the techniques you can do to unlock cool new details. But make it so you can accidentally stumble upon it while playing. Also, each color of building should have a different material pattern. White stucco, red brick, brown shingles, green reed hut, etc.
Woa, those 23 minutes went by and I didn't notice! This is a truly relaxing game, I could watch you play it the whole day without noticing it
Yeah
You could try to make a gladiator arena like a Colosseum with varying levels/seating rows. Also try to build courtyards with a ceiling above, maybe an archway as an entrance. Maybe a medieval looking castle with a drawbridge/archway with a moat around. Even a faraway village/kingdom that is enclosed by walls.
Just a few random suggestions, I can't wait to try out this game myself!
This looks like a perfect game to relax and listen to podcasts in the background with. Buying it immediately.
Tip for lighthouses, make the stripes 2 blocks tall, then you can get the spire roof on the top rather than the regular house roof. :)
there should be DLC for different Cultures, I'd especially like it if you could make your town look Medieval European, Victorian, East Asian, Greek, Roman or Arabian
maybe you could also have dirt roads, fields of crops, farms, Barns, and maybe people and livestock walking around town doing stuff, and it would also be REALLY be cool if you could walk around the town you created.
I have really high anxiety and stress in my life, I got a notification saying I might like to watch this so i gave it a go. And believe it or not it was very relaxing to watch and helped me relax which is very hard to do. Thank you
Kyle Bieksha ay man i hope you are fairing well and dont let too much stuff get inside your head
"Dutch breathing intensifies* hahahaha too funny!
If you want to create a fort, I think you could take inspiration from 16th-17th century fortress built in Europe, especially the Vauban design, which used a lot of geometrical forms. You could perhaps build it away from the city, in the path of the port as a way for the city to protect itself against pirates attack.
I feel like this game is going to be very successful, especially since it appeals to our childhood memories of building things with blocks, lego, etc., and using our imagination to fill in the blanks. Except this time we can see what we imagine.
The feels!
This game looks therapeutic
I like buidling games, but this one doesn't feel like a game for me. However, watching and listening to this guy playing this game is wonderful. Kinda like watching a Bob Ross episode.
This game is beautiful! I hope it’s a proof of concept for an even grander game !
So this is basically Venice Simulator
Love to see raptor channeling Bob Ross with the little happy mistakes lol
I can’t wait till there are people walking around and they add a nigh mode
the dev needs like a kik starter or a go fund me!
What a beautiful, innovative game. Wish there was more to do with it. I want to see my citizens, be able to go to war etc. But the core that is there is already amazing.
This game have a lot potential just imagine they use this game to make a model to build a house, like this game is a next up for building city type game
I hope one day this comes to other devices like ps4 and mobile just imagine placing little houses on your phone, I would love that and buy it immediately, I think I might just be saying this because I don’t own a PC but maybe the phone could be cool
I don't even have steam or a computer, but this game is making me want both.
this looks like a great tool for building game worlds
It would be cute to make these lil houses come to life they're so charming.
Now to add a battle mechanic to defend your creation!
You could make a really big court yard and see what you can build inside or make a park out of it.
The game feels so eerie it gives me chills how there’s no people just house.
*_I AM FORTIFYING THIS ISLAND._*
There is a method to make lighthouses. You need to build 2 pieces in one color, then one of other, and one more, one of the other color. Last piece change into lighthouse.
This is therapy
I love watching your playthroughs! You have such a soothing voice, and a good sense of humor. Thanks for sharing this with us, gonna buy it now!
Venice simulator.
bermuda trangle at first👍
Oh, Yea, And If You Want Some Building Inspiration Try Watching Scape Goat's videos
Glory to Raptoria
This game looks so relaxing. And it's so simple!
It is really relaxing to watch ( :
This video is pretty nice, most gaming youtubers over hype things, but i feel like you just followed the flow of the game. Hope you had fun, it would be awesome to see more of this game.
Please do more of this game.
This really should be available on iOS
Imagine if Bob Ross had this game
I think this would make a great game for livestreaming
Raptoria reminds me of York debtors prison
I want to cry happy tears
LOL ... I have been playing with my own townscaper for awhile and as I am watching this I just tried to zoom in to get a closer look.. HA ! ..............
This game is very relaxing I hope the dev of the game add more things. Try to make mont Saint Michel
You could bild a fishing hut or a bay or both :)
Well, if you want to add some basic naval defences to your town, you may want to build two or three fortified islands towards the edges of the map.
The typical style in 16th / 17th century Scandinavia would be a round(ish) "jar" made of bricks, filled with cannons and with no walkways on the outside, just a small landing. These would be pretty compact, probably with a footprint no more than three or four building blocks in size, and maybe two storeys tall.
They typically don't look very exciting, but very sturdy.
Other than that, I would personally build a small, separate island with no land access to the main town, full of small houses in different colours. Just for the added variety :-)
It’s so soothing to watch this while I’m trying to fall asleep
this would do wonders for tabletop RPG masters.
"You find the kingdom of..... Middleofnowheria..."
"What does it look like?"
_pulls out 3d model_
"TADAAA!"
Can't wait for a hive city mod for this game
Please continue building Raptoria!
I love this game
This is so relaxing please play some more
i think if you keep alternating the colors on the light house, the top will be an actual lighthouse
I love that plopping sound. 🥰
omg, there's no screeching intro. I love your videos, but I like to watch playlists before I fall asleep and the intro always wakes me up.
wholesome 1000000000000000000000000000000000
Yes. Just yes. Glory to raptoria. I love this peaceful sandbox.
Please make this a series
I love how Americans don't just do things... They "go ahead" and do things :D
Wow this was amazing. I bought it after 5 minutes. It's really fun and relaxing. But at the same time I love just watching and chilling. Keep it up!
Minute 21 building should be the church son
This is probably the best thing happened in 2020, in steam!
That really do look like newharbor :)
I like games that are simple, like me.....lol.
It's like a Lemony Snicket's harbortown generator !
What a fun chill little game!
Seems so nice to play
Hey Raptor
Absolutely adorable game
Nyhavn, And yes, I'm Danish
To me, this game looks like the Portuguese built Atlantis
If Bob Ross and cities skylines had a child... this would be it!
The place you were thinking of in Denmark is Nyhavn not Nuhamer lol
Also you should work with the grid not against it. Star-shaped areas can be fun places for towers or squares where a radial layout would normally be in cities. Good for a lighthouse as well.
ich würde es feiern, wenn man in seiner Stadt herumlaufen könnte.
currently working on filling in the entire map
Just a suggestion, but you could take inspiration from Vauban's fortresses in Europe to create your own fort away from the city, as a way to protect the port from pirates attack.
HIM says something about the nederlands*
(Me and every Nederlander watching) hij wet ons land noe dat is tog mooi
geefmevistrerug potato zekers
@@The_FatGeneral jep
if there is few of sim people, I will love this game.
the art style reminds me kinda of bad north
Yep, just bought it for me and a friend to enjoy. Thanks for showcasing this game.
If only Bob Ross could play this game.
"if Bob Rose made a game" to the developer, that the level of your skill
I've downloaded it yesterday. I love this game. It still lacks some decorative features but it's wothy stuff :)
Good thing is it's still in development, and many more things will be added!
😏😴😌 thats sooo relaxing 🤤
I needed 5 minutes of this video to go and get the game
Most enjoying part is the game music
I am just sitting here thinking about building a town for a dnd session through this
I'm sooo gonna do that!!
Ok, this game exactly summarises my playstyIe for any RTS game (Age of Empires, Warcraft, Dawn of War etc.) or any game with base-building element - and while I enjoy it, I s*ck in those (lowest AI setting is mandatory). After watching first 5 minutes of your video, I bought it. This seems like my cup of tea. I hope Townscaper is merely pioneer of new game genre, and soon, we will see more of them.
Woah this game is epic!! So getting this right now!
You should try to make a kingdom in the shape of your Raptor logo.
I wish they made this but just in mobile u know i wanna try that or play that omg
Maybe u can try and build a medieval looking street, just suggestion.
Did anyone notice the bird on the building?
