I might have caused a bit of confusion when I reference it as a "Gen I cab" - it's a Gen I Legacy cab (not one of the first generation of A1up cabs). For people looking to buy, it's still in stock for $240 plus free delivery: www.walmart.com/ip/Arcade-1Up-Mortal-Kombat-Midway-Legacy-12-in-1-without-riser/994999671?athbdg=L1300
I just got the Street Fighter Legacy for $249 .. bought a Arcade 1up riser, added Furniture riser under to make it taller, raised the control deck, put led light strips on the back and it’s perfect.. couldn’t be happier
Completely agree with your comments. I love my MKII Legacy. Seeing a lot of reviewer's justifying the new Legacy's monitor saying it's not that bad and 'it's playable'. To me, aside from controls, the monitor is the most important thing. As far as online is concerned, that won't last forever so it shouldn't be a deciding factor between the two.
Thank you Ben! If they had a BOE monitor in these new cabs, I think they'd have a big hit on their hands. But the downgrade in monitors, plus an uneven on-line experience, may have doomed that. Still, I'm am intrigued by the possibilities of playing games like GAUNTLET on-line.
Definitely a good game on a decent cab for a good price. If someone wants an MK cab to mod and does not need wifi for online competition it's an awesome deal. Those 17" screens are ok for a single player, but get 2 adults on a cab like that and you realize how small they are.
That's why in many ways the single player vertical cabs - specifically NAMCO - are the best playing experience. I really do wish A1up used 19" screens in all 2 player games (at a minimum). At least this first gen of Legacy cabs has a great looking screen, albeit a bit small.
@@evilgeniusentertainment I really had no intention on a purchase but that price tag and free next day shipping to my area was hard to pass up. I love that it has a BOE monitor. I certainly would not purchase any A1Up cab without one going forward. At this point all of A1Up's cabs should have a BOE IMO.
Michel - they're not too hard to cobble together if you have any carpentry experience. I made a "seamless" one that looks pretty sweet for my MKII for around $20. Otherwise, Walmart's the only place that ever seems to have them.
What if they made a full size bartop. Imagine cutting this below the control panel and above the coin door. I think it would look pretty cool. I know they make countercades but the screen is too small.
I love my MK II Legacy! The art is awesome and I have no problems with it. I customized mine with a 3D coin door, after market marquee and riser. Never been happier!👍👍

The control panel design is a complete fail. Your hands rub against the trim if you don't raise it up(which leaves a gap in the front like yours), and even then the edge art starts peeling off because you still rub against it. Also the top of the screws rub against your hand on the left side

Skip the 1-Up Arcade junk. Get an original arcade video game. Many of them take advantage of JAMMA wiring, which means you can swap the JAMMA logic boards as easy as swapping a game console cartridge. So, if for instance, you get a Street fighter arcade video game, you can swap the logic board to play Mortal Kombat. There are also JAMMA switchers which enable you to switch boards without physically having to swap the boards. As a bonus of an actual arcade video game, you get a game that plays true. Not some "port" or emulated game. Also, you can expect the value of the real deal increasing over time as opposed to these Chinese mass produced cheap home knock offs.
Lots of good points here. But I have 8 of these and they take up the footprint of 3 full sizes. Also I can carry these up and down the stairs myself. There's alot of positive to the 1ups...
That's right. Space is a major issue... so is weight... so are failures/malfunctions... so are poor looking/faded screens - collecting actual machines, some now 40 years old, is a whole nother level. BUT yeah, if the right machine came my way in good shape, I would def jump on it.
