Nice review! Just saw one pop up in my area new in box for 320ca. Was interested until you said there’s no wifi😖 I’ll have to pass since I already own the original. On a side note Im curious what that House of the dead 2 setup is that you have there. Cool idea with the guns mounted to the wall.
If you watch one of my later videos I turned that house of the dead setup into a full cab - yeah the unit is fun but I agree the lack of wifi does suck
best one to buy i 2024. mk 30 anniversary has online but has bad tn monitor & is also forced into 5:4 aspect ratio by the day 1 update. As for the mk 3 ultimate model with no online.... its' sold out every where.
You can replace the monitor on the 30th for $50, it has wifi and the new update allows you to change the aspect ratio. With the legacy, you cannot fix the poor viewing angles, terrible marquee, bad control panel and lack of wifi.
Other than viewing angle flaw and the ugly marquee placement, I really like this cab. Did some things to it that makes it much better for me personally. Fun cab for sure.
I honestly like the previous MK2 cabinet better, it doesn't have the angle issues because of how its build and it give it that old crt impression because of it. Also the artwork on this cab is very different from the previous version which had the darker original MK2 art (same for the stool if you got that package). The game selection is very weird, none of the extra games feel like something that would belong, it would have made sense if they added a "modded" NBA JAM version with the MK characters playable (they were in NBA JAM TE with codes), and it would work best with the MK button layout.
@@jonmegarton8078 Even with the viewing angle flaw the first MK II cab doesn't compare imo. The Legacy artwork grew on me big time. The darker og art is nice for sure and more authentic but for me there is nothing wrong with how the Legacy art looks especially after seeing it in person when I got it home. The pcb is better. The boe screen is better. The sound (dual speakers under marquee) is better. Whether you like them or don't, extra games is never a negative imo especially when it's like 9 more games. They should have put Robotron on the Legacy's games list is my only gripe with the line-up. They teased us with Root Beer Tapper and how it can be played with both sticks (no buttons). Robotron would have fit very nicely. The shape of the Legacy is better. It's just better (improved) imo. Bottom line, I feel there are more pros for the Legacy that out weigh the cons when comparing the two machines. To each their own.
The "Shark Fin" shaped MK2 1-Up is better because it doesn't block the veiwing at all , , so everyone can be clear , but the additional Midway games are a nice touch , ,😸👍
@@Mrlostmoniker what bothers me about the risers is they don't continue the cabinet art , MK 2 for example , they should continue Raiden's legs and such , , ,no real attempt at blending , risers stick out like sore thumbs , hoping 3rd party company would offer solution , , 🤔😸
It must be in the states where you’re finding these things so cheap. That or you’re buying them used. This machine is still $599.99 everywhere in Canada. The most they ever reduce the price for their “sales” is $100, and that’s everywhere I’ve seen.
The guts from the 12-in-one(walmart variant) is in MK2 (wave 2) cabinet, from the monitor, encoder and i panel. #frankensteinlegacycab. I'm still tempted to get the guts off the 30th edition and throw it into my mk2 cab.
@@Mrlostmoniker Walmart variant has wifi but no riser & no light up marque. It's the crappy version no one asked for. all have boe monitor except mk 30 anniversary which that one can't be swapped with another because the day 1 update forcing it to 5:4
Yes, you just keep pressing the player one/two to load up more credits as I recall, there may also be a setting before you get into the game that lets you select how many credits you start with but I'd have to look into that
The sound quality and base is way better than many of the new models that is for sure.
Yeah it does sound great!
Nice review!
I got mine for 199!
I got golden tee for 150!
And Mrs.Pacman for 99!
So0o I might be buying the riser for 80! Hahaha 😁
Yeah for this cab that extra $80 was well worth it

I just bought this cab at $245.00. I think it is still worth it at $300 or cheaper.
Yeah absolutely, the screen being recessed back was probably my major issue, but with a riser booster it’s near perfect to me

Yeah I’m still satisfied with this cabinet, I did buy the Mk 30th wifi guts, going to try and swap out at some point with this unit to upgrade it
@@Mrlostmoniker The day 1 update on mk30 anniversary forces the aspect ratio to 5:4. Stretches it just a little.
Yeah, I watched some other UA-camrs and can’t imagine it’s a massive stretch

Does the lagacy cabinet have stereo? Did they fix the volume control?
Yeah it does have stereo as well as variable sound settings (from 0-20)

Can you mod it with the Pandora dx jamma
I’d assume you could mod it anyway you want granted you’re savvy enough to wire it together
