Thank you so much for using just your Dremel! I recently obtained the same one you were working with (except, not the smaller hand held piece yet...). I was so happy to have a "real" tool that even the men in my life (loggers, construction, carpentry, industrial electrician, etc.) were impressed with. But I have been discouraged since so many of the projects that I want to start all have tutorials have crazy expensive tools that i will never be purchasing. You provided an excellent tutorial and though I'm not creating the same project, your instructions and details were a perfect match for my project. Thank you!
Great to hear I reached my target audience! My videos are meant for people with very limited access to tools, so I try to do as many cool things as I can with just a rotary tool. Thanks for the kind words!
I appreciate the way you explain things & that you include important relevant info that a lot of people leave out such as what bits and speeds. Thanks so much. 😊
I just found your channel and absolutely love your videos. You’re a wonderful teacher…I appreciate the tips and tricks using the Dremel, the tutorials on your carvings and just your overall calm way of sharing your talent and skills! I hope you keep sharing your projects. I am going to attempt your cat carving as well as the cool Giraffe thingy you did….thank you!!
Thank you so much Lori! That means a lot! I finally have some time again so I plan on posting more carving tutorials and general tutorials starting this Friday. Good luck on your projects!
Your Home Depot carries African Mahogany? I need to a much bigger city I guess a million area pop isn’t big enough. Of course. Piece turned out absolutely beautiful. Nicely done
There’s a chance it wasn’t really African Mahogany, but it looked fine to me. Been a while so I don’t remember. I just looked online and couldn’t find any, so it might’ve been a limited time thing. I usually get nicer woods from proper lumber yards or hobby stores. Thanks!
I just knew you could do projects like this with a Dremel! I'm so glad that I found your channel. It makes me want to run out @ 9:00 @ night just to get my supplies! Also, the wood grain reminds me of a guitar. I've seen guitars that beautiful! ☺️
Thank you! I thought this video would get a little more traction because I was very proud of the product, but I guess it's not common to want to make one with a Dremel.
That’s awesome that they have nice wood species like mahogany at your local Home Depot. The Lowes and Home Depot in my area only ever have Oak, Pine, Poplar, and on rare occasions Maple.
The vast majority is pine, but there’s a tiny section with those hardwoods (walnut too!). They’re super pricey though, I think I paid $40 for the board I used for this project. There was leftovers though that I used for a couple other things. Still expensive.
Oh !..very nice Logan !... So glad you posted..your burr use was very.useful for me..I now have options I wasn't aware of...there's always a learning opportunity... Beautiful board and your river running through it sets it off perfectly... Have a glorious weekend...🌿🌿🌿
Beautiful! .So- is the epoxy and the wood about the same hardness? or does the wood go away easier than the epoxy when you did the final sand? That is a beautiful piece.
Looks so amazing. I've got a lovely plank of lumber with a crack right through it that I really want to do an epoxy design on. I've never used the stuff though so have been putting it off for a while
I couldn’t remember/find info on that, so I wouldn’t count on it. I use this as more of a serving board with little bowls of olives and such on it, so I don’t cut anything on it. That’s also because I don’t want to damage it haha.
This turned out so good! I have a question for you… how do you get the engraving parts to be the same depth throughout the whole board? Is there a specific method, or is it just something that comes with much practice? Thanks so much! ♥️♥️🇦🇺
The board turned out so cool! Hm the sanding drum keeps flying off every time I turn on my dremel (the attachment itself stays in place. It's just the sand paper ring that flies off). If anyone has any tips, please feel free to reply 😊
@@LogsCarvingClub ah ha! that's what it's called. ok so the sanding drum paper keeps flying off, but it's brand new and it's the one that came in the kit with the rotary tool so. idk what to do lol I am new at this :)
Youre Gods gift for us Dremel owners!
Thank you so much!
This would be a perfect hobby for a dentist.

No problem! Thanks for watching!
GREAT example with dremel and color epoxy Im doing this to a Telecaster guitar - will look AWESOME! thanks
That’s great! My uncle also uses his dremel for guitar work. Thanks!
This is so cool I just bought the dremel accessories and I can’t wait to do this! 👏 thank you your video is so helpful.
Amazing! Thank you for mentioning every dremel piece you used and grit of sandpaper. Extremely helpful.!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you Deborah
Wow bro this is very cool! I bought a dremel and came across your videos. Now I'm learning from you. 👍
That's awesome - I’m glad I could help!

Next time you should try polishing the epoxy part with the pink stuff liquid version
Absolutely beautiful. Looks like I’m making a trip to Home Depot and/or Lowe’s later today. Weekend project for sure. Thanks for sharing
Thank you Brandi!!

Outstanding project, and thanks for showing me that a a epoxy mold isn't always needed.
It seems most things are achievable with enough patience and swearing!

Thank you so much!
Wow, That was awesome.
Thank you! Appreciate it
Thanks!

i have a dremel but you opened my eyes for wider use that tool. 👌cool project
That’s great to hear! Thank you!
make more.😍😍😍👍👍👍
Thank you! I’ll try
Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful! .So- is the epoxy and the wood about the same hardness? or does the wood go away easier than the epoxy when you did the final sand? That is a beautiful piece.
Thank you! The epoxy sands slower than the wood here so I had to be careful to keep it level. A planer would be ideal

Sounds like a great project! My first time using epoxy was a bit messy but not bad - I’m no expert though
@LogsCarvingClub we all have to start somewhere. Hopefully I'll pull it off, lol. Thanks for the inspiration and awesome videos!
Just love it, thanks for sharing. X
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
Great job. Loved this video.
Thank you Pete!!
Very nice!
Thank you!
Beautiful…great explanation too! You are really good at teaching
Thank you so much Jeri!
So beautiful
Thank you Lilith!
Brilliant, looks stunning. What kind of pigment poweder did you use?
I use mica pigment powder, which gives it that metallic shine and translucency
Awesome
Thank you!
I love all of your carving videos, question though. Is the epoxy you used BPA free?
I couldn’t remember/find info on that, so I wouldn’t count on it. I use this as more of a serving board with little bowls of olives and such on it, so I don’t cut anything on it. That’s also because I don’t want to damage it haha.
@@LogsCarvingClub It's beautiful either way. You've inspired me to get my own Dremel 4250 and start doing some projects.
Good
Thank you shin!

Hi, sometimes I eyeball it, or you can use something like the dremel 565 attachment
The board turned out so cool!
Hm the sanding drum keeps flying off every time I turn on my dremel (the attachment itself stays in place. It's just the sand paper ring that flies off). If anyone has any tips, please feel free to reply 😊
Is the screw on the end of the drum fully tightened? The drum paper may also be stretched out if it’s old

@@Steph_here I’d try a new piece of sanding paper if the top of the drum is fully screwed tight, let me know how it goes!
Hello, what is the name of the wood you use?
This project was mahogany that I got from Home Depot
How long did this project take you?
Probably total 6ish hours
Very well done. 68??
Custom request I didn’t ask for details. Thank you!
i thoughtit was like a stomach or some kind of organ in an anatomy text book drawing. at first glance and before ir ead the title
Ahh I see the resemblance too
Awesome
Thanks!
