Easily Carve Epoxy Coasters with a Dremel Rotary Tool

- Hi all, here's a beginners epoxy and carving project for those of you with a rotary tool. I probably only worked on these for 2-3 hours, so it's fast too excluding the drying times. Links for the products I used below. Thanks for being here!
You don't need to invest in a lot of expensive tools for a fun woodworking project! In this video I carved these with nothing but a Dremel 4300 rotary tool and the router attachment and I sanded with an orbital sander.
Most Dremel carving projects are very budget friendly past the initial cost of the Dremel, so having one is a great resource to make some meaningful gifts for others (as long as you have the patience). Check out the rest of the channel for more Dremel projects!

Wear a mask, eye protection, and hearing protection, and consult your tools' manuals prior to using them to ensure safety. This video is for my insta @logscarvingclub.
If you're looking for more wood carving designs and videos, I recommend sifting though my videos, or other carvers' videos, as it's a great first step before deciding on a project.
I've just discovered you, I'm psyched, I bought a dremel because I thought they were cool and had no idea how or what to do with it. I'm binging your video's and I'm so excited to try something!! Thanks, you're so easy to listen to!
✌️💜🇨🇦
Thank you! That's great to hear. I hope you're enjoying it!
Just an idea: maybe a video providing information about different woods you use and your experience on them
Hi, I actually have a video on that
Awesome tutorial 👏 thank you!
Thanks for listing all your specific tools and things you used 🪛🗜️🖌️
Thank you for watching!
Love your content! Thanks for all the great ideas.
Thank you for watching!
That’s a fantastic job! I love that you’re so honest and tell us about all of your mistakes because we’re certainly going to make many of them ourselves and it’s helpful to know that it doesn’t have to be perfect. Thanks again.
Thank you! I do make many mistakes, even for carvings I’ve done before, but it’s all just part of the fun
So simple, so beautiful, so talented. Thank you for sharing.
You are very welcome Paul!
Good Job . My girl got me one of them dremels for detailed wood work and I had no clue how to use it thanks to your channel and to your skill-set and explaining on how to work it with the attachments and everything . I'm impressed man keep it up good job ROUND OF APPLAUSE👏👏 . " GOOD JOB "
Thanks so much Nick! Great gift from her (and a good tool to make gifts for her)
Your videos are amazing. Great explanation and details on description. Keep up the good work. I wish your channel grow huge !
Thank you!!
These are stunning! I've had a Dremel for years but have hardly used it. Thanks to this channel that's going to change. You've got a new subscriber here.
Thank you Paul! I plan to make some more and another video sometime July or august with better wood - love to hear you’ll get into it
Awesome work. I really like this. Im just learning and this is one thing i hope to learn more on. Thank you so much for this. I only make things for my family. Thank you
Great to hear Thomas! Thanks for watching

Those turned out really nice! Great job!
Thank you! 😊
Love your videos very easy to follow and you are very honest, wich is also a very nice. The coasters look amazing 👏.
Thank you Jay! I appreciate the feedback. Planning to make more coasters in the future.
@@LogsCarvingClub good 👍 the coasters are fantastic, but so is the rest of your work. Like say on one of your videos not everyone has a workshop with 5 grands worth of hardware. Keep up the great work 👍.
just love your videos, these coasters look amazing, thanks for sharing your skills and ideas.
Thanks so much Denise! I appreciate it a lot
Loving your work and creativity! Could you please do a “tool and supplies layout “ as you start your video? You are an inspiration to carvers and creators!
That’s a great idea actually! Thanks for the recommendation
Karya seni yang indah..
Smoga sukses selalu..
Salam persahabatan slalu ...
Thank you!
I loved this, keep it up. your videos are amazing
Thank you! Will do!
Great video 👍🏾
Thanks for watching!
Hey mate I’ve just found your videos and I’m very impressed by your work. Going to give a few of your projects a try! Keep up the good work
Thank you Liam! I appreciate it
For a piece of garbage wood, the coasters look pretty good. Great job 👍
Thank you! Hope to make some with better wood soon
Thanks!
No problem!
hey thanks for a great video! can you make one of a weed stash box? maybe include a cool design and name of person you will be gifting it too and green epoxy ? i bought a box of amazon for my dad and i want to personalize it more for him. just a thought would make for great content in my opinion
Thanks! And yeah for sure, I’d do it similarly to this video or the charcuterie board one. I think a box with a mahogany stain and green epoxy would look great. Not sure if I can make a video on it though I currently have a lot on my plate outside of YT.
Enjoyed the video, but you and I have a very different definition of “beginner” 😂
It wasn't too bad! I'll have some other simpler projects out soon.
Love it, can you make a mug next?
I can try! Won’t be until the summer though most likely
Those came out great. Could you share either the link or name of the mica powder that you used?
Didn't realize I forgot to add that! I just linked it in the description. Thanks
I have a rotary tool but the brand is LOTUS. I can say that dremel is much better than lotus. Can i also use the tools and accessories of dremel to my lotus?
I’m not sure… most small rotary tool bits and burrs are about 1/8th inch in the US, so maybe they could fit, but as for the flex shaft or the router I don’t think it’s likely to work since they’re specifically for the Dremel
Okay. Thanks Sir! 🙏😊
Which Dremel do you think best for carving wood like you do for long periods of time? I’ve pretty much bought all the bits in your bio plus a Kutzall for a MakerX rotary tool. After using it for a bit I realized it wasn’t doing good. I recently realized I have an outlet in my new back yard so decided to look into some good corded rotary tools.
Please share which epoxy you currently like best. Thanks
I included the one I used in the video and description, but it’s one of the only ones I’ve tried, so I don’t think I should give advice 😄
@@LogsCarvingClub I do not the epoxy listed in either this video or the one with the cutting board. Am I not looking in the right place?
Oh oops let me look into that soon
Hello @ log carving club, love your channel.
Would you buy a load of extra accessories for your Dremel?
Secondly, which Dremel 3000, 4000, or the one you are using would you recommend?
And finally would you recommend any other cheaper brand rotary tool?
Thanks in advance
Hi, I do splurge with extra accessories but only when I think they’ll be useful or I see them in videos. I’ve only used the 7760, 8220, 4000 and 4300, I use the 4300 usually but can’t really tell the difference, any dremel seems fine but I like the wired ones so they don’t need to charge. I haven’t tried any other brands but I would like to!
@@LogsCarvingClub thanks
Nice work dude, I enjoyed watching your way of doing things...this vid opened up some ideas for future projects when I have the time! 👊😎*( Edit: I'm official 👉 #NewSubClub )*
Great! Thanks Jason! I think I’ll make some more this summer with some new designs
