30:10 scorcher on auto melts mid-tier enemies like hive guards, commanders, berserkers, striders and devastators variants, definitely still useful. I ran it with a combo of scorcher, jump pack, arc thrower and the senator on both bug and bot planets and it's a pretty good all rounder set.

@musicarain4702 because it survives the bombs. Large caliber bullets have also taken out armored vehicles. It is also in the support slot, and requires one of your limited stratagem slots to have the supply pack to run it. It has the 2nd longest reload in the game but is less powerful than a few _primary_weapons.
This weapon is an absolute beast now especially against bots. You should try it out there too. I still have the crossbow as #1 due to larger explosion radios plus extra utility but this does give it a good run for it's money.
Its so good on bots, especially with the stagger and penetration against things like the heavy devastators and striders. Love the QoL update of having rapid fire so u can also quick clear smaller chaffs if needed
Crossbow rules on bugs as well. I am the worlds biggest Blitzer fan, always been. But the Crossbow, Laser Pistol, Arc Thrower and improved Jump Pack combo is insane. Been playing that nonstop now
Cope, its still very bad. Dont get me wrong i appreciate the buff and the sentiment but this is not it just yet. Bad ammo econ on tap fire and charging is too slow for not enough blast radius and also no bug hole/fab breaking factor. Fire rate on charge almost as slow as eruptor yet it does a fraction of the damage. Edit: almost forgot the abysmal reload time
I love the arc thrower I just wish it was more consistent. Not being able to hit distant mobs because there’s a bush or a dead body in the way is frustrating

Super fun to use, one of my favorite weapons now. Uncharged shots are 175 damage (100 projectile and 75 explosion) and charged being 500 (200 projectile and 300 explosion) so it’s barely lower than the scorcher in uncharged shots and with a faster fire rate now. But with the ability to do big damage against stronger targets and be super efficient with your ammo. Just a super versatile weapon now, easily the best multi-purpose weapon
It's a scorcher with a charge up mechanic for more powerful shots. Which is what I imagine it should have been when it was released. The scorcher has the auto fire now which is nasty and more shots so I feel like the changes were really good.
After the update, the Purifier quickly became my favorite primary. I loved the idea of it when Polar Patriots was announced (but I was quickly disappointed)
This weapon is really an absolute awesomess. Need to test it more to see if it is better than the crossbow. With the automatons, it can really kill loads of groups of ennemies. Thanks for this video !
I agree, it feels sooooooo good to use. I kinda hope they buff the primary flame thrower with a faster reload or some extra reach. It feels good in terms of damage but i still feel like it needs something to make me want to use it over other options.
Hard for me to put down the scythe, but I enjoyed the purifier all the dives I did yesterday. The selling point it the fact it deals with groups of fodder and spewers with ease. Scythe struggles with spewers
the best thing imo is that the tenderizer has got a second rate of fire wich is higher now i can put it in burst and just enjoy the Br from halo vibes it give while liberating the galaxy from bugs !
I think the fire rate has to do with the fact it's a charge weapon. I would guess those are linked, so they cannot change the charge time without changing the fire rate too. Maybe in another patch they will get those 2 separated.
This gun could use a secondary to suport it and remove some of the burden to its ammo cap... i tested it yesterday and veredict is the perfect companion to it high dmg and large ammo pool to deal with small bugs up to warrior class or beserker bots ... and purifier can deal with devastators and hive guards onwards... and now that veredict had medium armor pen it can deal with one or 2 med armor enemy isolated here n there to save even more ammo

The crossbow already struggles with shriekers A LOT. And this one cant close bugholes, so you need the grenade pistol, meaning it's gonna be worse. So that's a huge tradeoff. Seems similar enough, depends on what you want. Im all for more good weapons tho :D
could just bring a 500kg for bug holes if that's your main concern. or extra grenade armor, plenty of ways to work around it. I hate that the xbow is basically the best option for nearly every situation cause I dont wanna switch off it ever lol

As i mentioned above, shriekers are an issue.. but then again there is pretty much just two primaries that can effortlessly deal with shriekers, the cookout and the incendiary breaker. I wish there was a secondary to cover that niche. Anyways, as i see it the xbow has huge utility and is a very good weapon overall. It works best with a coordinated team and when things go well tho. When shit hits the fan, stuff comes from all sides and you try to get back to the point where you have some room to breathe, it's one of the worst weapons to have. So in that sense i definitely think it's a strong option with strong enough drawbacks to make it balanced. Maybe a bit too versatile, in that it can do pretty much everything while also being a useful weapon. Tho, im not sure i would ever take it if they remove the ability to close bugholes, and needing over one magazine plus the long reload time to destroy stuff in the distance (shrooms, worse yet shrieker nests) is a luxury you dont oftentimes have - or need since most people have stuff better suited for that job. So that's kinda niche i guess.
I disagree with your point at 16:30 about the purifier being slow firing. The original blog post description of the weapon implied that you could charge it as much as you wanted for more damage but never that you had to charge it. It's a trade off. Now it's like the old scorcher but you can charge it up. I think it's fine personally
I still find the Scorcher better than the Purifier, especially on the bot front, pair that with the Guard Dog. Every body sleeps on the new buffed Guard Dog with the Lib Pen ammo, I got 500 kills on the Bot Front with a Scorcher, Guard Dog and sentries combo.
I don’t think many, if any weapons out perform it tbh lol. It kills every enemy in the game with the same number of shots as the crossbow, but has 3x the ammo per mag.. and now can be used against enemies that get too close without blowing yourself up.
I bet polaris was one of the least selling dlc till this day. Hope they don't powerbuff those weapons, till sales stagnate and then nerf it again, to promote some over DLC with the new op weapon
most of your max charge shots are not max charge, seems like you fire them at ~90% charge most of the time, which I think is the same as a 10% charge. You can tell by the much smaller explosion.
Haven't tested it out yet but I feel like the increased fire rate will be nice, but it will probably still need a damage buff to become a more effective option in comparison to the other weapons
i never know, why the vitality enhancement is a good boost? I see so many people taking it but it just seems not very helpful. I usually wanna take a stim when missing health, even if none of my arms or legs are broken, so why would i need a boost, that decreases the chance for that? Is there some hidden mechanis behind it? I see so many other boosts as more helpful. Maybe someone can enlighten me
Against bugs this thing is not as good as crossbow still. Crossbow is mad good. I kinda like the purifier against automatons, as it has the life saving interrupt mechanism that works even if you one tap enemies. If this thing would also seal bug holes, it'd be competition vs. Bugs at the very least.
And id like to add one reason why crossbow is better, because you can literally sprint with it while firing it quite accurately. With purifier you need to hold still.

Depends on the situation, but in general I recommend using the charged attack, not only because of the damage but for ammo economy. The rapid fire is good when enemies come near you, since is fast, makes them flinch and, since the aoe is small, you dont risk blowing yourself up. Whatever the case, to have the option makes the weapon very flexible.

I think the vitality and hellpod optimization should just be standard. Boosters should be reserved for specialized roles imo

The purifier works pretty much like grenades, so you'll need a CQB weapon like the redeemer to handle any time when the enemy gets up close to you

Arc builds are now insane, since the arc tower can now just straight up prevent chargers from taking it down
You can use the scroll wheel on the purifier to flick fire tons of shots really fast, I think it's half a mag per second

I got 733 the other day with the purifier. Team members got around 300-400 each

The game has a life timer on you. You live too long, enemy start apearing behind you.

it just makes you take less damage, gives you more of a timeframe to stim if you get like stunned and almost mauled to death
+20% durability that doest come from any other source, stacks with armor, and the stim boosts 25%. Its very good.

I agree. Use the charge most of the time. The ammo economy is silly. Fall back on tap firing in a pinch or when enemies are close.
personally i use the charge for hiveguards, spewers, or big groups of enemies and the spam fire for single targets or if i get ambushed
