I'm so sorry to see this man. I can't even imagine what this would be like. Although sympathy doesn't do much, you have mine. I feel for you.
Thank you mate, it means a lot, and the messages and support mean more than I can say. It has really taken some of the pain of the past week away and got me looking forward. Cheers.
Didn't expect to see you here Dark Space, as a subscriber of youe channel I'm happy to see you being respectful to unfortunate people like RFD. And also RFD, It makes me sick knowing you had to go through something like this. I can't imagine having years of work going down the drain, and I hope you can make a recovery soon.
hey dark space! i love your gta vids
Man… dark space you must hate that one dude who is dark 5, dark skies, dark docs, dark seas, dark footage, dark tech and dark files 😂
@@RFDHobby experienced something similar as a kid. What stuck with me most is what ever I did keep smelled like fire. I smelled like that for like 2 years. When insurance writes off everything make sure you salvage your electronics for parts and gold.
Let me just start by saying that you CAN and WILL bounce back from this. A friend of mine had a house fire that wiped out his miniatures collection, and it killed him to have to throw them away. What didn't go was his passion, talent and love for the craft. I'm so sorry that this happened to you, and we all look forward to your new creations - when you're ready.
Thank you. Take care and all the best to you
Yeah, just keep moving forward and you'll get through this brother.

@@RFDHobby Take care and all the best to YOU. much love. Post your recovery, im sure we'd love it!
This sounds like a job for Go Fund Me. I know this is hard but it WILL be okay.
I only just discovered this channel but I can feel the pain in your voice. Fire's been one of my worst nightmares of my life. I'm at least glad you and your family were able to escape alive at least.
Same. Discovered it a week before this disaster. I don't know if I'd be able to cope were the same to happen to me. All I can offer are kind thoughts and sympathy.
Just found out about it. Feel really sorry for him.
My home burned down in April this year. Even though I have never watched any of your videos, I know how you feel and what you're going through. It's a difficult and heart-breaking moment when you realise you lost everything you worked for the past few years in just a few hours.
I'm still bouncing back and trying to recover. I lost my job last week because I didn't have enough money to hire workers so I would spend all my time fixing up my home myself and less time being able to go to work. I know what this situation can do to people, but don't let dark thoughts and depression cloud your judgement and life.
We all go through difficult times in our life and being in the same position, I can only give you my deepest sympathy and I hope you and your family is well. Please be safe and take care of what's the most important in life. You and your family's wellbeing and safety. You have my utmost respect and I know you will get through this.
If you ever need to speak to anyone about this, you can always message me. We may be from different parts of the world, but going through the same tragedy I know what it's like to not have anyone to truly speak to.
What caused the fire?!
I never watched any of your videos, or even know who you are, but i can still personally feel the pain in your voice.
Hopefully you and yours are healthy and safe.
Thank you for the message. Take care and all the best.

In a way it's kind of sad we're only getting this channel recommended after a tragedy like this
So thats how its gonna be huh i wish you the best of luck until youtube recommends me another video of a different channel posting their last video because it knows ill click on it to leave a fake sorry message and then thats all i care about for the next 2 days. Hearing a calm grown man hold back tears is heartbreaking
Yeah, there's something about it that's just deeply saddening. I wish him luck in his recovery.
This. That in itself proves what he’s going through.

@@latinasawntop there’s a difference between just being sad and being on the Brink of a breakdown
I think it's heartbreaking because it's not something you see often. When a woman cries, you probably wouldn't pay too much attention because women are known to be more emotional. When a man cries, it really means something hurt him mentally or physically, and he's in genuine distraught, anger and sadness because it's rare you can break men like that. As a man myself I can agree that if I lost years of hard work, money, time, possessions, among other things, I'd be trying to hold back tears too. It's too much weight on a person's shoulder to bare.
My mother and dog died in a housefire explosion in 2018 in my childhood home. I am so so so happy you are “okay” physically. I’m so so sorry for your loss.

So sorry to see this mate, my stomach drops just thinking about it happening to my collection (and possessions in general). I hope you're back on your feet before too long and are able to get a collection back up and running!
To all the people laughing at this poor bloke about him "crying over toys", this shit is EXPENSIVE and on top of that takes HOURS of dedication towards assembling and painting to end end up with a decent finished product. ONTOP of that, he obviously has had a house fire which is a traumatic experience regardless of the possessions lost! Have some fucking sympathy for a fellow human being who has lost things he holds dear to him and has invested a lot of time into.
I know it doesn't feel like it now, but you'll bounce back. Sending you strength and encouragement to get through this challenging time.

Brilliant suggestion. I would love to see your progress, step by step... each one a positive.
But once you reached the "normal" state people will stop watching because they're looking for content about making progress. Just like youtubers that film the renovation of a house loose views after the house is built.
So basically: once you reached the normal state, keep working and expanding. At that point it is a different viewership and if you serve them right you might get more out of it than you might think. The content he did before might get a second channel.

I heard you question if you'll bounce back a few times. I'm hopeful you'll get back on your feet and continue your hobby and channel. Best wishes to you and your family.
Like many others who've commented here your video just happened to come up in my feed. As a fellow creative, I feel that blow all the way from here and while it's easy to say "just be thankful you and your loved ones have your lives, you can always replace the things you had", I know from my own experience how much of my soul has gone into my creations and I hope people let you freely mourn the creations you've lost while still being glad you and yours got out alive. Even with fire and smoke damage and ruin, what's on the shelf in your studio is amazing stuff. Best wishes.
Seriously, I don't mean to be an ass, but the whole "just be thankful you and your loved ones have your lives, you can always replace the things you had" kind of mentality ignores that it is still a loss, it still sucks, and is valid to feel grief (and it doesn't somehow elevate feelings about losing that above human lives), and is really annoyingly dismissive, IMO.
@@gondoravalon7540 the only way you'd be an "ass" is if you assumed your above complaint was what I was saying in my original comment. I actually share your sentiment but I didn't think this was either the place or the time to chide other people for wanting to show sympathy but lacking the right words to express themselves, and maybe were honestly ignorant about how losing one's creations in a disaster like this can devastate an artist/creator down to the very core of their soul. Instead, I posted my own comment of sympathy. There are plenty of other places and times for you to take those people to task if that's what you wish to do, or you could kindly show them here by your own example what is the best thing to say in a situation like this.

Such a horrible thing to go through. However you will bounce back from this stronger than ever. Best of luck to you!
I certainly feel for you mate and from the other side of the globe, wishing you the very best and God is with you and try to have a Merry Christmas in spite of it all. It is tragic and I am so sorry !!

Absolutely devastating. Can't even imagine what you feel like at the moment. So, so sorry that you have to go through this. Take care, recover and rebuild both physically and mentally. We'll be here, waiting for your assuredly triumphant return!
Oh man. I'm so sorry. "Bit of a tragedy," is an understatement. Your composure is admirable. I hope things turnaround for you soon
As someone who collects videogames as a hobby, to see someone who also has that one collecting hobby, collecting / building miniatures (Lego I assume) whose spent hundreds of hours constructing, purchasing and whatnot, I would hate to experience what you went through, losing all of you're hard work. Couldn't even begin to imagine how hard that must be, but if you keep pushing, maybe a little harder than before, you can get back up on you're feet. It may take time, but you can always rebuild what's lost.
Subscribed.
Good luck in your recovery. Be strong. 👊
A bit of a fire?
😳
This is one of my biggest fears in life. Having been through a similar ordeal years ago, my intuition tells me to assure you that "it's just stuff" and that "you'll recover from it sooner than you think". However, I fully comprehend how crushed I would be mentally by such a catastrophic event.
I'm sure you are still in a state of shock right now. As that starts to diminish, I want you to know that this community is here for you. I don't know how or in what way the community can or will help, but once a direction is found, it will be there to take it.
Please keep us updated with the progress by continuing to make videos of your recovery from the fire, even with your just your phone and even videos that aren't about the hobby. You can show UA-cam and the hobby what starting over after a fire looks like. Viewers will watch those videos and new hobbyists will learn from the process. Experienced hobbyist may learn a thing or two as well.
It may seem like a daunting task, but salvage what you might be able to and inventory the things that you've lost. Things look chaotic and the worst right now, but they will get better, I promise you. Lastly, make sure you are getting enough rest. That was the one thing I struggled with the most after my loss.
first video ive seen. all i can say is you will get through this and survive, i am so sorry for all that you lost though and wish u the best
Hope that you can get through this man. It WILL get better bro.
Never heard of your channel before now. But my heart goes out to you. This is an absolute tragedy. Please be safe, I'm glad you weren't hurt in the fire.
It's heartbreaking. It's good that no one was injured! I hope you get back on your feet soon, with help from family and community!
Absolutely heartbreaking, mate. Wishing you all the strength in the world.
Just came across this.. very sorry to see this happen can hear the pain in your voice. I really do wish you all the best. Remember Items (for the most part) can be replaced and you're still with us.
So sorry for you man. Cant imagine how this feels for you going through it. But just know you can bounce back. Sometimes it will feel like baby steps or you just having to claw your way back towards becoming whole again, but you will do it in time. It may even inspiring you to take different approaches and try new ideas you had not considered before. And as always, if you feel up to it, you can document as it goes so others who end up in a similar situation will know they are not alone.
Thank you so much again. It is really appreciated.
Sucks to see friend, hoping there was no injuries apart from the gut and heart. Been there brother, wishing for the best and hope you and your family get everything back. Fingers crossed there is at least some salvageable stuff, and insurance covers you. We'll all be waiting and happy to see you post any updates. Best of luck!
For educational purposes for those that collect (I collect books and paper documents) what caused the fire? Years back I happened to be at home when a fire started in the basement (my fault: I had placed a heat lamp on a pile of laundry). As luck would have it, I caught the fire very early on- the fire department responded after I put the fire out. There was smoke damage.
I’m so sorry this happened to you! We will always be here for you! If you need anything please reach out to us and we will do our best to help!
