Even though I have been consuming all SoIF histories I can get my hands on, I like what you are putting together here. The Histories are quite tangled in the books. Good job on breaking it down into organized digestable bits. Good voice and professionalism in the dilvery. I guessing you do your own graphics and they function well enough and I commend you on not recycling from previously seen sources.
George Ch I just hate it that they gave all the spotlight to House Mormont, who as loyal as they are nothing to offer really in the game. They basically gave Lyanna Mormont, Wyla Manderly's role and awesomeness in the books. House Manderly is the only real support the Stark has. Like what Davos said, because of the fact that the Lannisters have all the gold of Casterly Rock and has wed the wealth of Highgarden, only the silvery riches of White Harbor is their only hope.
Even though I decided not to read the GoT books until the TV series was over, I really enjoyed your excellent video. The info in it adds a new dimension whenever I watch the show. "House Tarly, loyal to their life lords, the Tyrells" Randyl Tarly and Jaime Lannister outside of highgarden, "Its free real estate " Who else is 2019?
What do we do to Freys?-asks Robb Greywolf. He looks around. The banners of house Greywolf are all around along with other northern houses. The grey direwolf growles on dark green ready to ruin the towers. WE KILL FREYS!!!!!!!-his men shout, ready for battle and revenge. Winter is coming for the towers, men. And that winter is us!!-Robb finishes his speech, and he unsheats Traitorsbane, the valyrian steel sword of his house-the sword thirsty for the blood of traitors. He destroyed the Boltons and now the Freys are next and after, if the Old Gods allow the Lannisters. The North Remembers!!!!!-the men around shout and they follow Robb through the already destroyed gates of the Twins. The Frey soldiers meet them and are cut down with no mercy. The Northmen flood the Twins, killing all who stand in their way. Robb leads a group of men through the castle and founds members of house Frey trying to flee. The men around him let out wolfish howles and follow Robb. They break through the bodyguards and they put the Freys in chains. The battle is done, the Twins have fallen, and his men are cheering. The Freys are brought before him and once again Traitorsbane drinks the blood of traitors. (im sorry for any form of mistakes in this and I hope that whoever reads this likes it. :D)
Sebastian Ziemba Thank you very much. But I have to say that what really happend in the show the last 2 episodes beats the crap out of my little fan fiction.
At 4:25 you made a mistake. The Twins does not straddle the River Trident, there is no such river. It straddles the Green Fork. The Trident starts where it along with the Red and Blue forks meet.
Because I love swamps and marshes, and ontop of that Greywater watch is supposed to be constantly moving so no one but the crannogmen know where it is at any given time. Plus, who wouldn't want to be a green-seer?
are you serious. I get anxious, i know what it's like. But not from that. Flaying should be allowed. They should flay child rapists. Now i'm just getting deep. Why did i start.

I can't believe the Starks didn't expect the Boltons to be evil assholes. THEY HAVE A FLAYED MAN AS THEIR SYMBOL. That's even less subtle than the red eye of Sauron.
Cause there not a house. People living outside the laws of man. Uncontrollable, even if an alliance was made with the starks... I'm sure that was just too keep the peace. Should of put them in the vanguard as fodder
They lost the north because their army was slaughtered at the Red Wedding. The soldiers were too drunk to fight so they lost. And seeing as how it was started by the Starks, nearly all of their forces were committed to the war effort. With them eliminated, it didn't take much for the Boltons to take control

Have you tagged House Hornwood in this video because I always end up here when I look them up :D btw any chance we might see them mentioned in a video?
Since when boltons, manderleys and Tarlys and frays were minor houses ? Especially when they able to field 4000, 1500-2000 and 10000-15000 and 4000 soldiers respectively... also the strategic importance of twin made frays one of the main centerpiece ... similarly for boltons and manderlys made up about 2/5 of stark army ... where tarlys are one of the largest field army on reach and have fierce soldiers ...and only house that able to triumph over Robert
It kinda makes sense though, they served King Robb but through his foolishness they lost tons of men and family members, It's unrealistic for them to put themselves out there for unproven stark kids, they were cowardly sure but I can understand why they didnt want to throw away their lives for a bunch of wildlings and a bastard
But now that House Bolton , Umber and Karstark have been defeated by jon snow what will happenned ? will jon snow give karhold etc to someone he trust ?
Nokz That is just in the show. In the books, House Umber only serve House Bolton because they have the Great Jon prisoner while House Karstark is divided, with it's legitimate heiress, Lady Alys Karstark in support of Jon Snow.
What if Bran, whilst looking into the past, warged into the boar that Robert Baratheon was hunting, and killed him? Perhaps under the influence of Brynden Rivers in order to facilitate a later Blackfyre takeover of Westeros?
Nah. In the books, cersie says lancel gave robert a more potent wine, to make him veeeery drunk, more than usual. I dont think what you said is possible.
+Stephen Grant What if Euron was originally warged into the boar and Bran and Euron have a time-travel warg mind battle? Euron wants to control the boar to kill Renly so that Stannis takes the throne who will then perform the red sacrament and allow Euron to take control of his body and thus force him to lose the battle of Winterfell so the Boltons consolidate power and Benjen is brought back.
I just had a weird idea. There are some who say that Daeron is not truly the son of King Aegon the Unworthy and we know that Daemon Blackfyre _was_ a bastard. If true, then the Battle of Redgrass Field was a battle between bastards, or _A Battle of the Bastards_ In this case is it not likely that the second Battle of the Bastards may go down like the first?!!!! In the Battle of Redgrass Field Daemon Blackfyre was shot down with his sons by Brynden Rivers aka Bloodraven using enchanted weirwood arrows and spells. If there is a second Battle of the Bastards in the books, is it not likely that Bloodraven's apprentice _Bran would do the same to Ramsey Snow?_ Also at the Battle of Redgrass Field the Blackfyre forces were smashed in a massive hammer and anvil manoeuvre with Prince Maekar pinning them from the front while Prince Baelor struck them from behind using the Dornish levies Is it likely that the second Battle of the Bastards will feature Jon pinning the Boltons from the front while the Knights of the Vale struck them from behind?! The show certainly seems to think how it will go down. Do you think any of this is likely or am I freaking out for nothing.
Am I missing something!?? Cause I'm counting eight realms in the image at the start of the video!! Could someone explain me this please!? And how is it called the land in wich the capital King's Landing is settled!??
The name 7 Kingdoms comes from the 7 Kingdoms that existed before the Targaryen conquest. After the conquest, those 7 kingdoms were broken up into 9 realms. The realm where the capital is found is called the Crownlands.
Just to add on, the Riverlands were a kingdom for a time, however successive invasions from the stormlands, then the Iron Islands saw them lose their independence until the arrival of Aegon.
Just to add on, the Riverlands were a kingdom for a time, however successive invasions from the stormlands, then the Iron Islands saw them lose their independence until the arrival of Aegon.
The Stormlands!??? I was told the riverlands splitted in two after Aegon burned Harrenhall whith Harren and his sons within!!! And then the Tullys came to rule there and the Iron Islands were created!! And Thanks for clear this CivilizationEx
Hector Orozco Rdz Yes the Stormlands conquered the riverlands for a century or so, then Harwyn Hoare King of the Iron Isles defeated the Stormlanders and annexed the Riverlands and I believe part of the Crownlands. His descendants built Harrenhal, Aegon destroyed them, and now you have the riverlands again and the crownlands.
Slight mistake but Barristan became Kingsguard for King Jaehaerys, not Aerys. Jaehaerys rules only three years, but Barristan blames himself for letting Aerys fall into madness as "having failed Jaehaerys" in ADWD.
Kevin I don't think we mention Barristan in this vid, but we talk about him in Minor Houses 4, and there was the mistake you mentioned, an annotation has been added to that vid to correct it. Thanks.
I know no one will answer but I always found house Flint of widow's watch to be a interesting house and if anyone knows how many man do you think they have?
They don’t have much land, So probably not that many. It says in the books they at least take their lead from House Manderly, so they can’t be strong enough to make very independent decisions
Repins Watson yes house velaryon is Alive there is a six year old lord of drift mark and there's aurane waters a velaryon bastard who's in cerseis small council
Minor houses are all houses that aren’t Lord Paramounts, I.E Starks, Arryns, Tully’s, Martells, Baratheon, Tyrell, Lannister. Bolton and Umber are loyal to House Stark, which is in turn loyal to the crown. That’s how feudalism works
the Irish wolfhound in the history , a lot of stark kill a lot of bolton, the king of the dreafort vs the king of winter for the north, how many bolton and stark die? I say more than a thousand
"Shaggy, horse-like beasts that can climb mountains and walls" - Goats. Those are goats. lol
Unlikely given the Westerosi keep goats and would recognize anything goatlike as being a goat.
a goat isn’t horselike though
Fuzzy Dunlop 😂
Never in your whole life have you described a goat as a "horse like beast"
Then it's an Ibex

They should make a Civilization or a Total war game based on Game of Thrones
A total war game...oh my god, pls
Westeros: Total War exists...

+Dark Eater666 Try mount and blade warband game of thrones
I'm realising westeros would be an awesome setting for a MMORPG
Agreed :)
Heel Dreadfire I don't know about MMO, but Bethesda (the makers of TES and Fallout) were offered to make a ASOIAF RPG a while back. They refused, and instead made the game that we know today as Skyrim!
Espically becuase of how big is it
Hunter Smith That's quite interesting. I wonder what the ASOIAF game would have been like.
Hunter Smith Bethesda made TES and Fallout 3. Not Fallout.
House Forrester and House Whitehills from GoT (Telltale Game) are now a part of the Game Of Thrones history
Definetly not canon
nozoill Show Canon only. Though House Forrester exists in the books as well.
+CivilizationEx They do in the books?
Daniel Windrus Yes, people from house forrester guide stannis through the forest.
+Daniel Windrus really minor mention of them
It's really interesting learning about all of the minor houses.
Praetorian HiJynx very
---SPOILERS---
Sansa and jon could've asked the help of northern mountain tribes.
well TV doesn't do the northern bannermen justice. they cut out the awesome manderly speach
SantomPh no i think it is because of money and time issues
That's what happens in the books, apart from it's Stannis instead of Jon & Sansa who gathers the northern mountain clans.
I just thought of the same thing
Even Skagos was never mentioned in the tv series 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Fun Fact: Crannog (as in crannogmen) is Irish for "little tree" it was an ancient form of housing commonly made on man made islands.

It has always bothered me that House Manderly has no words

+One Nerd95 although never stated maybe something along the lines of, "our waters run deep" "The north remembers" " A promise was made" or my favorite "Raised by wolves"
Funnyj33ns I think the last two are more likely than the others, due to House Manderly's history.
the best one is our waters run deep
more like "stand by wolves"
Amazing!!! SER Civ Ex. Absolutely amazing. Good job buddy
Don The Kraken Witt Thanks! :)
Thanks, the minor houses are oft overlooked

Your Welcome, happy holidays!
I wish the houses were classified according to the region. This a bit all over the place...

Crazy that this all came from the mind of one man....
Watching this before the series finale wondering how many houses became extinct because of this war.
Great video, though I wish it was done by region. Like video one could be strictly the north and each region could get it’s own one

It's odd that the starks (at least in the show) were so weak. The boltons are now reigning the north, amirite?

In this case is it not likely that the second Battle of the Bastards may go down like the first?!!!!
In the Battle of Redgrass Field Daemon Blackfyre was shot down with his sons by Brynden Rivers aka Bloodraven using enchanted weirwood arrows and spells.
If there is a second Battle of the Bastards in the books, is it not likely that Bloodraven's apprentice _Bran would do the same to Ramsey Snow?_
Also at the Battle of Redgrass Field the Blackfyre forces were smashed in a massive hammer and anvil manoeuvre with Prince Maekar pinning them from the front while Prince Baelor struck them from behind using the Dornish levies
Is it likely that the second Battle of the Bastards will feature Jon pinning the Boltons from the front while the Knights of the Vale struck them from behind?!
The show certainly seems to think how it will go down.
Do you think any of this is likely or am I freaking out for nothing.
if only the ending is good, I really want to rewatch got again
House mormont ✌😎
Take a shot every time he say for thousands of years
And don'tforget the really minor houses: House Tollett, House Stane, House Stokeworth, etc.
+KawaiiWizard house sett, house hunter, house forester to name a few more
John Stone it has a weird sound.

Love your voice
ben ward Thanks! :)
Thanks.
CivilizationEx Oh, yes I was logged out and guess I commented on the wrong vid. Glad I was able to help, though !
I know no one will answer but I always found house Flint of widow's watch to be a interesting house and if anyone knows how many man do you think they have?
They don’t have much land, So probably not that many. It says in the books they at least take their lead from House Manderly, so they can’t be strong enough to make very independent decisions
I thought one of the mountain clans was the milk shakes
There must be so many boys on their yard
And they all think it's better then your's.
That's right
That’s the Vale Mountain Clans, these are the Northern Mountain Clans

You can't talk about bastard houses and not name house Baratheon...
You forgot about the Umbers and the Karrstarks
Note how it says part 1 of 6 lol I'm sure they will come up
Don't really think the Boltons count as a minor house. The Freys is stretching it as well.
My God so many houses
But no furnitures inside them
I thought Magnar was the title of the ruler of the Thenns
It’s both. The Skagosi probably also called their leaders Magnar, but it turned into a last name over time
You forgot about Oris Baratheon. He was the bastard of Aegon.
That’s a major house, not a minor one
Forgot Ironwrath under House Stark
its part 1 of 6
Boltons killed 2 stark children tortured a stark girl yet a stark has never killed any bolton
the Irish wolfhound you need to finish reading/watching game of thrones...
the Irish wolfhound in the history , a lot of stark kill a lot of bolton, the king of the dreafort vs the king of winter for the north, how many bolton and stark die? I say more than a thousand
