- The North, the biggest region in Westeros, Home of the First Men and the Old God of the Forest. Let’s learn about all major houses here, with the most significant one at the end.
Time Stamp:
0:10 House Bolton of the Dreadfort
1:03 House Manderly of White Harbor
1:26 House Umber of Last Hearth
1:45 House Karstark of Karhold
2:07 House Mormont of Bear Island
2:43 House Reed of Greywater Watch
3:08 House Glover of Deepwood Motte
3:27 House Cerwyn of Cerwyn
3:52 House Dustin of Barrowton
4:10 Honorable mentions
4:55 House Stark of Winterfell
All the "super loyal" houses didnt help at the battle of the bastards in the show lol (except the Mormonts)
They were afraid of the boltons cause Jon didn’t have enough men
the show is just fanfic
And all of those Houses Had reasons Not to Support Jon and Sansa. 1. Sansa was married and thus technicly No longer a Stark. 2. Jon Is a Bastard and technicly a desertour of the Nights Watch, Not a Stark either (technicly). 3. There were Like 2 Houses that could Match the Boltons Army which are the Karstarks and the Manderlys. Robb executed their Lord in the War and the current Lord Is Held prisoner by House Frey. The Manderlys; the only Heir to Wyman Is imprisoned by the Freys. 4. Jons only Army that He Had at the Point consisted of WILDLINGS the arch-enemies of any northern Lord. 5. A Lot of the smaller Houses Had either No men to spare or have People imprisoned by the Freys. 6. Winter was comming. Isn't a smart decision to Go to war that you would probably loose after you've already sent the bulk of your men to Death and need to prepare for Winter. 7. The Boltons were accepted by the crown as the Lords of Winterfell and the North so even a success against the Boltons could lead to Further war 8. The writers kinda forgot logic
i agree
House Hornwood also fought for Jon. Show didnt bother to mention them for some reason even though they contributed more men then Mormonts but you can see their banners in the battle
I love how the picture for barrowton is just Whiterun 😂 4:04
Not having the Boltons in the thumbnail is a good way to protest their betrayal of the Starks and occupation of Winterfell.
I like how Winter is Coming can also be used as a threat
You didn't cover the mountain clans entirely, nor did you mention that Houe Flint of Flint's Finger is actually a cadet branch, even though they're the most powerful branch, the original branch of the house Flint is Flint of the Mountains; there's also Flint of Widow's Watch.
There's another cadet branch of the Starks you left out that's quite prominent, namely, house Cassel, their arms being ten white wolf heads on grey with a black border. Jory Cassel is Eddard Stark's captain of the Stark household guard, and Rodrik Cassel is the master-at-arms for Winterfell.
House Umber the "Super" loyal house to the Starks was the house that betrayed Rickon and gave him to the Bolton's
Not in the books, they never kidnap Rickon and bring him to the Boltons and only aid them since they have Greatjon Umber captive
the blackwood where the bigest first in the north until the war for the north was won by the starks and they took the power from the backwoods so they left to the riverlands
Drinking game for the word “loyal”
It’s not all of them at all
What did I miss?^^
House Bolton FTW ! OK slight bias as i'm currently playing as them. Thanks for the Lore update.
Glad you like them!
@@EverythingExplained101 Indeed, i'm going to write down all the House mottos and use them in my videos, interesting to hear how they got them. Wonder if any of the mottos ever changed over the years/decades/centuries 🤔
