Just the fact that you commented means the world to me. Thanks, it took a Lot to cut and find all the scenes( even the deleted ones) is nice to see that is appreciated.
+Romeo Gasparini Yes, I would imagine so! The very first scene (0:00 to 0:14) was one I'd never even seen before, so I was delighted to happen upon this video.
ya gotta admit at 8:18 that had to be his funniest moment of all of them! as the saying goes "karma a bitch" even though this movie is serious i never stop laughing at the master's death
Him, Alfred and the general aestetic of lake town are what makes Esgaroth my favorite faction in Middle Earth. Every line the two often deliver are absolutely on point, and I smirked my way through this entire video. Half of these scenes I’ve never seen, and I’m glad that you put together this wonderful little collection!
Eh. He did say that survivors of sexual abuse should just get over it and complain that self-pity is the ugliest emotion, when Fry is guilty of some of the crowning apices of self-pity. There's a lot of fine words, a lot of terribly charming dressing-down of people he thinks fall short of the standards expected of one, and a lot of hypocrisy because he's as rankly steeped in it as anyone else.
Definitely my favourite character in the movies. Just the way Stephen Fry plays him as some corrupt and greedy posh bastard, ye gotta love it. I even made the Master in Skyrim. He's level 100 speech and thane of Riften (which is basically Laketown). I also really like his house, the town hall. I've been trying to rebuild it using Lego. Sadly it's hard to find any good pictures of it. Same goes for the boat on which he escapes in tbotfa. Thanks for making this video, it's a great compilation.
Thanks for the comment, I am currently working on an updated version of this video, HD quality, better sound and a few more seconds of footage. About the legos, I have actually built my own version of the masters house based on the one you can see in the video "the aggravation of smaug" here on youtube, if you are lookig for an accurate model on how to do yours, definately check out the last 10 seconds of that video. Thanks again, check out other videos if you want, more are coming to my channel soon like the Grandmaster from Thor Ragnarok, Red Harrington from The lone ranger and more.
I never even knew Stephen Fry as an actor, I first saw him in talks with Christopher hitchens and Richard Dawkins and just knew him as a skilled orator who was known by others as a great actor
I wish they would've kept him alive for the Battle of the Five Armies. It would've been better if all the Alfrid scenes in that movie were done with the Master instead. He's actually hilarious and not just annoying and a waste of everyone's screentime. From what I heard, the scene where the Master threw Alfrid off the boat was meant to be Alfrid's last scene, but they brought Alfrid back for the remainder of the film when the two movies became three and they didn't want to go to the trouble of tracking down Stephen Fry again since they had already filmed his character's death scene.
The Master did survive in the book. Although he isn't as evil as this Master, but Alfrid has a similar sendoff to him in the book in the theatrical version. (Not the extended where he's killed by being flung into a Troll's mouth and died of asphyxiation and/or the force of the Troll's jaw biting him. For those who haven't saw the extended edition, I'm not kidding.)
As a matter of fact in an interview alfrid explains that that was due to a window malfunction and they forgot to reshoot the scene. but i LOVE your comment! "luxury living" that's hilarious! best comment yet!
Every time I hear about the Trump documents case on the news and they talk about appointing a “Special Master” I always chuckle thinking of the Master of Laketown and Alfred pouring over boxes of documents
Whether on Netflix or Amazon, some part of the chamberpot scene gets cut. Netflix scrubs the entire scene in the bedroom, iirc. Amazon cuts in after the first throw out of the window. It's as if, in a film involving decapitations and general murder, a little bit of shit being flung out of a pot is crossing the line.
Because they aren't. Tolkien was a devout catholic, who also made it abundantly plain he would keep his views as seperate from his work as possible. Tolkien went to great lengths to avoid allegory in his works- a bone of contention frequently picked with his friend, author and fellow catholic C.S Lewis. He actually stopped writing a sequel for this exact reason, his views were influencing the text too much. And secondly- why would that stop him, even if it were the case?

Really the only problem I have with Alfrid is his screen time. Make it a bit less and I’m good.
In real life he's the opposite, a kind hearted, loving, incredibly cultivated person. What an amazing actor!

1:40 The utter comtempt. Only Stephen Fry could do this scene justice. :D

This is how most of them rulers think like 😂😂😂😂😂.
He’s the Viceroy Gunray of Middle Earth. I keep expecting him to talk to a Plantiar where Sauron says “Wipe them out. All of them.”
I have your approval to proceed then my Lord?
Probably my all time fave Lotr character
The Master of Laketown reminds me of Prince John from Disney's Robin Hood.

He even has his own Sir Hiss.
By my beard is that the TIME!
im gonna use whenever i wake up late for work

At least one thing was correct about this from Tolkien's story: - The Master Of Lake-Town's Mouth was and still is all but as big as his ego!

Amazing, thanks for uploading!
I have read that Smaug didn’t kill him - that he instead subsequently died due to being abandoned in the wastelands.
Yeah, if only he replaced Alfrid in BOTFA like in the book, but him getting crushed by Smaug is satisfying, tho.
