By far this is the best review of the 2018 Mazda 6 Turbo on the web. I’ve been waiting for this car! I do wish your review was of the signature model but, you’ve done an outstanding job. I can’t wait to drive one and potentially buy one. Love to see the Sen wood and Nappa leather in person.
Forrest's Auto Reviews I hear you. This is the first video review of yours I’ve seen. I found you simply by searching for the car on YT. You’ve earned a new subscriber! 👏🏻
Thanks to your thorough review I got one on July 4th!!! Been waiting for a replacement for my Mazdaspeed6 for so long and finally feel that this is one! Had it a month and really like it this far! Very fast but super upscale and quiet!!! Was doing 104mph on the way to work today and didnt even know it!!!
That's fine even if they don't, the all wheel drive system would be harsh on gas and make the car heavier, right know the second gen is pretty darn good of a car grab it while u can for a low price if they ever turn out to be rare. It's funny how this all new engine and they couldn't even make it faster than the speed 3 😂
Rudi Kis i think it’s all about tuning. this is supposed to be a full-size sedan with power. The mazdaspeed3 had the 2.3L turbo with better tune in a lighter and somewhat smaller chassis.... i wish they’d just put this new 2.5L and turbo in a 3 and tweak it for it to be a mazdaspeed
I had 2009 Mazda6 V6 GT and currently drive 2014 GT model. I can't wait to get this new one next year. Mazda6 with little refresh/upgrade looks so much better than the new Accord and new Camry put together.
Awesome. Having been an owner of 2 Mazdas, I am a big fan. They really make excellent cars for a small company. Also, for people who live in west Texas, Hiley may be a good place to travel to in order to get a Mazda because the Mazda dealerships in these dinky west Texas cities are bad. They barely have much inventory at all, and most of that is SUVs. It seems like 3/4 of the vehicles on the road here are SUVs and pickup trucks.
Great review, I like the details of the interior. Mazda has come a long way in it's quality, probably because they have moved away from Ford lol. I was thinking of getting the new Camry XSE V6 but I might go test drive the Mazda 6 Turbo. Thank you brother and keep on doing great work!
Got to test drive a Signature last night before seeing your video. My reaction was exactly the same. It's so much smoother and torquey than I expected. Very hard to describe but definitely a blast to drive.
Greetings from Fort Worth! Congrats as the first reviewer for the 18 Mazda 6 T. Been waiting for this. Wish they had a trim with manual transmission. New subscriber for sure. Keep up the good work!
I just purchased the 2018 signature on 5/18. This is my 6th Mazda6 since the flagship model. Great review for this beauity. So far this is by far my favorite 6.
Wow one of the very first 2.5t Mazda 6 reviews on UA-cam . Cool. That torque is amazing! Wish they offered AWD on this would sell better in the snow belt and Canada.
Nice review. I just sat in a 2018 at my local dealer and was blown away at the interior. It was the GT Signature model which lacks the real wood trim and fancier nappa leather. Even so, nearly every single square inch of the interior felt high quality, which is an incredibly difficult task to pull off in any new car under $30k. The seats were super comfy, the doors closed with a nice solid thunk/whoosh, the steering wheel and gear shifter felt great in hand. And everything was laid out in an intuitive and attractive manner. I was pleasantly surprised at how well integrated the infotainment display was for a tablet style. It didn't look like an afterthought the way the Honda Accord screen does. The 6 is one of those rare cars that you sit in and just feel instantly comfortable in. Oddly enough, I also sat in the Kia Stinger right after and was disappointed that no matter how I adjusted the seat I couldn't get comfortable (I'm a big guy 6'2/240). Its sad that the 6 doesn't get more love in America. I hope the turbo engine helps garner some attention because it truly deserves greater sales figures.
Justin Waters I bought a 2017 Mazda6 and I marvelous car its a peace of art and it drives better that car that cost 10 grand more.... love it. Camry and accord can't touch this car... driving dynamics are uncanny
Great job on the review.. Owned a 14 and really enjoyed it. Great handling and power was decent for the most part.Glad that Mazda finally gave this model the engine it deserves. Seems much quieter as well.
Great review on a very nice sedan. I have a 2017 6. With great gas mileage ( 43 mpg on FWY ). For the size of the car this is wonderful. Not a fan of turbo charged vehicles but Mazda is making things happen in the industry.
Very interesting and very cool. I'm really interested in the acceleration numbers. My 2014 mazda6 is modified to make about 215-220 hp and lb ft of torque and it's a lot of fun with the stick. It only weighs 3050 lbs too cause I did some weight reduction too. As the man says this car can put the power down very well. There price point for the as tested car is amazing. A great opportunity for somebody looking for a really nice sedan.
i Recently Bought the 2018 Mazda 6 Grand touring reserve, a step below the top trim Signature, but there's barely much difference between the 2 trims. i most say before buying this model car i never dreamed, i would ever be driving one today infact, it was never a car brand i would give any thought to, but due to some personal regulations in the US, i did some research and the Mazda brand Appeared on my radar. Im a dedicated Subaru owner and driver and ive always loved German designed vehicles, infact before thinking about the Mazda brand i test drove the Subaru Outback 3.6R touring, the Subaru WRX STI, the BMW 340i xdrive and the BMW 330i Xdrive. i enjoyed all the models tested while they are all great cars theres just something different about driving the Mazda 6 GTR. i strongly urge anyone in the market who wants, in my opinion a really good blend of affordability, luxury, prestige, sportiness along with a barrage of features, this is the vehicle for you. anywhere i go i get compliments about it, i believe its because of all those beautiful curves and arches which compliment the design of this model, as well as the interior, i have the white interior, with black and alumium finish which is really beautiful, i could go on and on about this vehicle but i dont need to, take a test drive and feel it for yourself. the infotainment system can be some what buggy but besides that, this is one of the best cars ive ever owned.
Been waiting for a review for this car! Very exciting, car looks even better and the performance should bring a lot more people towards the Mazda brand. Great thorough review Forrest! Keep up the nice work
You’re right!!! It’s silky smooth turbo!! I love my 6 GT turbo! Mine is the Soul Red also....the turbo is def smooth as butter!!!! Such an awesome car!!!! ❤️
Great video man. Thank you for the detailed review. As a Mazda employee I felt your knowledge was vast! Just a few notes the sensors by the mirror are for lane departure not radar cruise, that's behind the emblem! Also the touch screen is only touch under 10mph. Thankyou thankyou thankyou for pointing out the torque rating! One last note research how the turbos have a variable timing valve to only allow so much air to prevent turbo lag!!
I thoroughly enjoyed the review - thanks very much! I used to drive a 2014 Mazda 6 diesel, which had same max torque as this 2.5T petrol. I fully appreciate your comments about enjoying the torque. The 6 speed auto is very sweet too. You're absolutely right - the 2.5T should be available with a manual transmission.
I just got the 2018 Mazda 3 GT plus premium package and the seats are amazingly comfortable. Nearly my favorite part about the car! This Mazda 6 looks beautiful inside and out! Mazda really does make a nice car! I need to try the sport mode soon- I'm just waiting for it to "break in".
I am a Mazda Sales Associate. All 2018 Mazda 6's Touring and above will be the first to Get android auto and apply car play from this point forward. Either get it upgraded by dealer, at port or initially during production. Super excited for us to get out first here @ Brown Mazda Toledo. ETA is tomorrow. We shall see!!
Isn't Mazda going to charge to update previous models? 2017,2016,2015 etc. That's what my understanding was from the press release. $300.00 charge to add Apple carplay and Android auto.
Issa Maxmry! Edit: I love how you opened the door and panned the camera for a bit to let us see, it was kind of like a "yeaa thats right, take it all in. Thats a Mazda." Kind of moment
Thank you for the excellent review! You are exactly right. The way the Mazda turbo feels when you drive it is hard to describe. In your review you said that it was smooth and that was the first thing that struck me about it. It is definitely something you need to drive to decide if you like it or not. It’s just a very different driving feeling. Of course, my primary vehicle right now is a 21-year-old Camry, so what do I know? I recently test drove both a new 4 cylinder Camry and the Mazda six turbo. I felt like the Camry had a softer ride, but a lot more Road noise. The Mazda interior is way better in quality and layout.
Been waiting for a first drive video for ages, thanks! My 2.5 Mazda 6 was an absolute joy to drive but always wanted more power. I traded it in for a Golf 7 Gti, now you had me thinking...
I'm cross shopping this car and the chevy malibu premier(I hate CVT's) and I am impressed with the content of the mazda over the chevy. plus the torque advantage of the mazda. the only negative is the 6 speed. if mazda made a 9 speed that would really make it so much better. Mazda 6 for me!
I know the feeling of when your car don't feel that fast as the numbers suggest. Go drive nissan altima or maxima. In my maxima when you floor it you don't necessarily feel like your going that fast until you look at the speedometer and your doing a hundred. Like bmw, they handle the speed amazingly well, they mask it. I have to be careful that I'm not speeding all the time. I've never driven a gtr but they say it also masks speed really well to where you have to be careful your not speeding all the time
The Mazda 6 is the best midsize sedan I have driven for 2017, my only real complaint is the lack of power from the 2.5L NA engine. Had it not been for that I would have purchased a GT back in September 2017. Now in 2018 with the arrival of the turbo, I really want to get a test drive in and I might just go do it this time around.
Lol people buying fully loaded camrys for 35,000-42000 and wanting to take it back because there's no working navigation in the thing. On top of that, it doesnt offer heated rear seats or heated steering wheel or memory drivers seat... lol!!! Unbelievable. With Mazda getting android auto and Apple car, this would be a no-brainer purchase. People buy camrys on impulse and don't do their homework
Unchanged for 2018 - Easy Scuff (Tm) Lower Door cards!! Seriously though this looks killer, has me pondering trading in my 2.5 manual 2016 3. If they come out with a manual next year, that will likely seal the deal
the sweet spot is 3000 - 4000 rpm. that 310 lb ft is more like 240-250 to the wheels. 310 is at the motor. premium fuel. dealers aren't putting premium gas in the car. Lol. thanks fr the review.
I have a 17 civic ExT 6speed sedan. I was dying to see a review on this car. The last Mazda I owned was a 05 Mazda6s v6 5speed and 06 Mazdaspeed6. I'm finally convinced to trade the civic in. The only thing missing is a manual transmission or at least an 8speed DCT
Mazda made a quick car last decade, Mazdaspeed 6 was this car with the two things it's missing, 6 speed stick shift and AWD. Nice review, had me considering an upgrade for all the tech until you mentioned those points 😎
Finally got to see a GT reserve on Friday for some reason the car doesn’t wow as much as when the mmc came out back in 2016 the front end is nice. like I said they should have release this car back then instead of now but for 32k it’s pretty much loaded and the best car for your money. The Camry and the accord cannot compete in terms of pricing with options compare with this GT reserve. I will probably wait until they do a full redesign with that said Mazda is heading in the right direction 👍🏻.
Great Review Bro! I had a 14 GT 6. My interior was no where near as nice and I didn't have that sweet turbo engine. I might reconsider one of these at the end of this model year.
I work at a Ford and Mazda, and I'm really hoping they release a new mazdaspeed. I have a speed6 ATM and I love it. I would love something new though, with even more power.
mazda 6 looks simple and clean . i like it more than honda accord or camry , but the only thing i hate it is that oil change interval is not every 10thousand miles like camry .that can really save me a lot of time going back to the dealer
We didn't realize it was a race ;) Nice review Forrest! We're still waiting for Mazda to send over the 2018 Mazda6 2.5T, they're dropping off a 2018 Miata Club 6-speed with the new Recaro seats and red top tomorrow, the new 6 should be soon after. Looking forward to driving both and congrats on the 18 CX-5 press car!
I've ALWAYS wondered what took Mazda soooo long to put a turbo engine in the Mazda 6 family sedan? They obviously have had turbo technology with the MazdaSpeed (awesome car), but the Mazda 6 family runner of late, which has a truly capable chassis with magnificent steering, was just left with a lackluster power mill in all it's iterations. No more (I hope)! Finally a car that can compete with the Honda Accord 2.0T ( a truly magnificent power plant and automobile).
Finally a proper review of the 2018 6! Thank you so much! Can we ever expect a review of the Touring trim? I believe that it comes with cylinder de-activation as well. Wondering how it compares to the accord 1.5T. Does the Touring trim's interior look just like the Grand Touring's?
Nice camera, for the first time I feel like I can really get an idea what a car looks like by just looking at my phone. Granted it's an Amoled (does well with reds & 2k) but I do think your photos do this car justice.
I'm not a Mazda fan boy,but I have to admit this is the best non luxury midsize sedan in the market today.
turbocharged strong torque and smooth driving, it's hard to have both, Mazda did it, well done.
Yes but don't forget displacement effect. it produces same amount of power while rivals produces with 2.0 liters engines.
I test drove the GT at my local dealer today, no turbo lag and plenty of power. Best driving experience and interior styling in its segment imo.
Timothy I've got an appointment in the morning to do the same. I'd like to check out the reserve but they haven't received one yet
The lag on my 2017 Mazda 6 is sometimes too frustrating. Wish Mazda had a decent exchange policy :p
Satwik Mandu there's no lag on the 2017. They don't have a turbo on that model yr. Beat it like mike

The 151 dislikes are straight up HATERS ... How on earth could a sane individual dislike this content? Awesome review man!
Holy Sh*t I've been waiting for a review of this turbo Mazda6 for months. Thank you!! subscribed!!
Carl Speed idem
SAME!
Thanks to your thorough review I got one on July 4th!!! Been waiting for a replacement for my Mazdaspeed6 for so long and finally feel that this is one! Had it a month and really like it this far! BOUGHT A 2019 MAZDA 6 IN AUGUST, I AM IN LOVE !!!!!!!!!!
Finally a thorough review! Thank you so much! I've been dying to see this car in action!
As always Forrest, good job and love the detail! I’ve been excited for this turbo to get here in the 6!
Got to experience this engine when I reviewed the CX-9, so I can only imagine how quick it is in this little guy. Great review!
Ferrari Dave Car Reviews wonder if they'll put this engine on the Mazda 3
Yessss! Thanks for being so quick on filming and uploading this video!
great review! I love mazda's direction. I can only hope for a mazda speed awd version with 6spd. Also Would love that new RX-9
Afric Network An AWD mazdaspeed would be awesome, but I just want them to bring the Mazdaspeed3 back even if it’s fwd PLEASE MAZDA
Afric Network Mazda is not going to make anymore speed versions. This is not their direction.
if they do bring a mazdaspeed6 back, they better get a proper awd system in it... first gen was garbage tbh

Getting this bad boy today. The last time I had a mazda with good power to weight was my 2008 mazda3 2.3L hatchback. Loved that car.
Did you pick it up? What year and trim? We are going to this weekend to potential buy.
I had 2009 Mazda6 V6 GT and currently drive 2014 GT model. I can't wait to get this new one next year. Mazda6 with little refresh/upgrade looks so much better than the new Accord and new Camry put together.
15:22 if youre only here to see the new turbo engine.
Awesome. Having been an owner of 2 Mazdas, I am a big fan. They really make excellent cars for a small company. Congratulations ,Mazda ! Nice job with this Mazda 6 .
Great review, I like the details of the interior. Mazda has come a long way in it's quality, probably because they have moved away from Ford lol. I was thinking of getting the new Camry XSE V6 but I might go test drive the Mazda 6 Turbo. Thank you brother and keep on doing great work!
go with mazda. way more sporty than camry
D Nice Camry feels and looks really cheap inside the cabin
They drive real nice, definitely recommend.
Mazda hands down. Design is better, more fun to drive than any other brands in this segment.
Get the Toyota! Last ya longer.
Loved your review. Love the details and impression and your thoroughness. Keep up the great job! And, I'm LOVING the new 6!
Got to test drive a Signature last night before seeing your video. My reaction was exactly the same. It's so much smoother and torquey than I expected. Very hard to describe but definitely a blast to drive.
Where is that? Because i keep calling the Mazda dealerships around me and they tell me they don't know when they will be getting the signature models
Greetings from Fort Worth! Congrats as the first reviewer for the 18 Mazda 6 T. Been waiting for this. Wish they had a trim with manual transmission. New subscriber for sure. Keep up the good work!
This car is just stunning love it turbo now to wow Mazda hit it out of the ballpark with this one great job mazda
I enjoyed meeting and great review Forrest!
Great review on a very nice sedan. I have a 2017 6. With great gas mileage ( 43 mpg on FWY ). For the size of the car this is wonderful. Not a fan of turbo charged vehicles but Mazda is making things happen in the industry.
I hope they put that engine into the CX-5 as well. Nice review.
They should put it in everything, especially the miata.
2.2 diesel turbo
Jason Cunningham i hope too man
Jeff K Nah - this engine doesn't rev enough for a Miata. A Wankel engine would be better...
Way to cool. Can't wait for you to get your hands on the signature trim!!!
Wow i like this interior and with a turbo this will be the best mid range sedan....great job Mazda.
Woohoo! A review finally
Thanks for being the first to review the 2018 model. Been checking youtube every day for one recently
First video of yours I’ve ever seen and dude killer review! Just subbed keep it up brother!
Great work showing off those wheels! I've never been able to tell the depth and detail going on until then.

LOVED this video and car, haha. Engaging, thorough, and entertaining! Zoom zoom🚘
Just bought one yesterday 😍
ÈIRE how is it... I'm jealous
maurice benton absolutely stunning and a dream to drive. Also quite a quick car I was impressed.
@@MrRoz121 You run 87 or 93 in it? Any meaningful difference? I'm curious.
Just bought my today . How do u like yours so far?
Great review Forrest, keep up the good work!
This car is gonna take away a lot of sales from the Acura TLX and Lexus IS 300.
This makes me even more happy I picked up the 2018 Accord 2.0T touring with black Honda wheels
Super in depth review, you just got a new subscriber out of it, keep up the good work and quality!
My next car!
Nice! I agree, I would love for this car to have 6MT and AWD! I used to have the 2005 Mazda6 MPS, loved that car!
Great vid great car i am glad you are the first guy i have seen to do this car
But which one will you take? Accord or the 6? I know I’m taking the 6.
Rico Abustan This is $30K can you get Accord 2.0T 10-speed for $30K?
That's a tough decision man, both are great cars
Actually for about $28k. And it's quite a bit quicker. Sorry Mazda.
Michael Reiche I see Accord 2.0T on autotrader for $27,500! I would still look at a Malibu 2.0T for $21,500.
Michael Reiche and how do u know that it's quicker... stop hating... plus the accord is ugly
Jess Barnett Super jelly
Really hope they come thru with that apple carplay, android auto promise. Its been "coming soon" and "can be retrofitted" for several years now.
Andrew Huang it's on the way and it'll be backwards compatibility with previous generations of mazda 3,6 etc
Mazda announced a few days ago, what the sales guy above says is absolutely true
Isn't Mazda going to charge to update previous models? 2017,2016,2015 etc. That's what my understanding was from the press release. $300.00 charge to add Apple carplay and Android auto.
Issa Maxmry!

Thank you Forrest Auto Review man
They need to drop that engine in the 3
John Edmond yesss!
cant agree more mate! im driving 3 with 2.5L now
I think they are going to for the new Mazda 3 2019
Thats what I’ve been praying for every day for the past year. AWD too.
Pretty sure it's the same engine between the 3, 6 and cx-9. The turbo in the 6 came from the cx-9 so it should hopefully fit in the 3 as well
I'm cross shopping this car and the chevy malibu premier(I hate CVT's) and I am impressed with the content of the mazda over the chevy. plus the torque advantage of the mazda. the only negative is the 6 speed. if mazda made a 9 speed that would really make it so much better. Mazda 6 for me!

The first review I've seen on this car. Automatic like!
Damn first to review this car on youtubr. Congrats dude!
Finally a good review, thanks. Now I just need to justify trading in my 2016.
So premium, so much quality
Just bought mine! The grey color is insanely awesome as well! Excited to get it in 3 weeks (the only downside)
waited for a review for so long! awesome car Mazda is beautiful. Great review.
All the dislikes are from people who purchased other mid size sedans including luxury brands.
I still have my 2013 Mazda 6. I cant wait to upgrade next year.
Does anyone else notice how quiet the turbo is on this thing? This is the first turbo engine I've owned that I can't even hear the turbo whine. Crazy!
I own the 2015 Mazda6 6speed and it's a very fun car to drive. I will trade in my car to this beauty when it comes with a 6speed.
Camry will have better resale value down the road - That is about the only thing it has going for it.
I love this new Mazda!
maurice benton no offense but them folks are is crazy
The 2018 Camry looks amazing inside and outside! The ride quality is best in class period!
Arnold Kevorkov the new one is horrible
Especially when Malibu 2.0T 9-speed is $24,000 on autotrader.
What a beautifull car, cant wait to see it on the streets!
Beautiful design i'm really impressed mazda
I have a 17 civic ExT 6speed sedan. I was dying to see a review on this car. The last Mazda I owned was a 05 Mazda6s v6 5speed and 06 Mazdaspeed6. I'm finally convinced to trade the civic in. The only thing missing is a manual transmission or at least an 8speed DCT
That's 420 NM for us metric folks. Pretty impressive.
Mazda made a quick car last decade, Mazdaspeed 6 was this car with the two things it's missing, 6 speed stick shift and AWD.
Nice review, had me considering an upgrade for all the tech until you mentioned those points 😎
Hope to get the Grand Touring Reserve within the next year. Awesome review Forrest!
Great Video Gorgeous car inside and out with decent parformance
Great Review Bro! I had a 14 GT 6. My interior was no where near as nice and I didn't have that sweet turbo engine. I might reconsider one of these at the end of this model year.
I work at a Ford and Mazda, and I'm really hoping they release a new mazdaspeed. I have a speed6 ATM and I love it. I would love something new though, with even more power.
better than accord I️ would say
Can't wait to see someone tune this thing
mazda 6 looks simple and clean . i like it more than honda accord or camry , but the only thing i hate it is that oil change interval is not every 10thousand miles like camry .that can really save me a lot of time going back to the dealer
Now, if they could just bring back the Mazdaspeed6...
The rims are kinda from Mazdaspeed^^
I can’t believe I traded in mine for 8k few years ago 😩
sql-lover glad i got my speed 3 2 months ago^^
I thought this would be the Mazdaspeed6...
treester 999 well, mine was the Speed6, 4wd and Turbo.275HP
He beat sofyan to the review...
Redline Reviews love your reviews but if your not first your last..
But seriously to both keep up the good work
Redline Reviews Sofyan is a cool dude, love ur reviews as well. Is nice to know u giving other reviewers props for their work as well👍
It helps to have connections ;)
Z Forrest doesn't work at a dealership either... Used to, sure, but not anymore. Maybe you shouldnt imply he does when you clearly have no idea.
Great review! Also props to Hiley Mazda for hooking it up!
Good job ForrestAutoReviews
Can't decide if I should trade my 2018 cx 5 for this, or wait even longer for the diesel cx 5! This is a sweet car!
Finally a proper review of the 2018 6! Thank you so much! Can we ever expect a review of the Touring trim? I believe that it comes with cylinder de-activation as well. Wondering how it compares to the accord 1.5T. Does the Touring trim's interior look just like the Grand Touring's?
If I knew this existed I wouldn’t have gotten the 2017 Mazda 6 touring 😫
Nice camera, for the first time I feel like I can really get an idea what a car looks like by just looking at my phone. Granted it's an Amoled (does well with reds & 2k) but I do think your photos do this car justice.
Loved my MS6... a beast..... 2 bad I had many expensive mechanical problems with it....
