Understand that point, however I don't think they'd have to SHOW anything more graphic/gore. imo what I didn't connect with the panic, dread, fear, ticking clock of death, etc. PG-rated Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window gave me more 'oh no' chills than this scene. Hope others liked it. Want to hear everyone's thoughts!
Making the scene book accurate would involve making a couple of toddlers scream and cry, for multiple takes. There are coordinators now on set to make sure actors don't go through anything mentally and or physically traumatizing for the sake of the production.
Phia did that reaction EXACTLY the way the I think the character Helaena would react (sans the blood curdling scream - but I'm ok with that). I totally connected with it as true to the character Helaena that has been established on the show.
I’m a little weirded out hearing how much more/less brutal the violence & torture of CHILDREN should be with this scene. I think it was brutal enough the way they portrayed it.
Don't think we mentioned more/less violence and torture, but I know others did. Bubba here, I believe I mentioned characters panicking, stress and such. With Helaena's "shutting down" reaction, perhaps that why I didn't get swept up into drama.
Is your doubt about a child actor's ability to play the terror? Or is your doubt about traumatizing a young actor? Either way, I think it would be possible
What did you think of the premiere of House of the Dragon s2?
You guys are great! Plus that Joffrey song is a banger 🤣
Thank you, your Grace. Please subscribe and help us thru this Targaryen Civil War :)
Team Smallfolk getting their sheep back!
Blood and Cheese was better on the show - less blood, more cheese
no, less drama than the book. Why didn't they keep it the same?
There was no way the production team was going to traumatize those child actors to give us a accurate Blood and Cheese scene.

@@DoublePMedia Agree! I felt the whole lead up to it and the final scene itself was pretty clumsy and clunky

I think she gave what they wanted, and while I don't blame that specific choice as the sole reason, I didn't connect with the scene/episode

Then you clearly do not understand Helaena's character @@DoublePMedia
We understand it, but we don't think the show has built the audience's connection with that character. Do you?
And how the fuck were they supposed to have a child who'd maybe be 5-6 act that out?

I was a little disappointed
#Same - yet we've got 7 more episodes to ramp up the drama
