funnily enough I booked one there yesterday. Its just a beginner day as I've never done that track before and their next "proper" one clashes with the next one at Rockingham unfortunately
your skills are great, im not pro drifter or anything, but maybe if you tried to be more stable on the throttle input, not just flooring it and letting it go it wouls look way cooler, nice vid btw
Is it just me or is there a letter P on the middle section of the rear seats in the M4??? It looks embossed in the little pull down cup holder/arm rest.
From where I'm sitting it looked like a lot more fun this time, ace! What is it like driving on a drift track, do you have a lot more grip with all the rubber down? P.s You should have a look at how much it costs to get the tyres that have red/green smoke.
Yeah it was good :) the one at santa pod was even more fun. That video will be up on Friday. Nah not that much grip on the track, especially as it had rained first thing in the morning. Plus a lot of people pump their tyres up to like 40 or 50 psi so that they have less grip
What's the meter in the dash around 4:30? It flipping pretty weird during drifting! It is the turbo/supercharger-pressure? Looks like it is sometime pointing down to zero? (I know it is explained somewhere in a video, but I lazy to look it up :) ) Angle kit looks great! Does it also makes drifting easier? (Getting more sideways easier?) You driftskills are getting better and better! Nice job.
its an oil pressure gauge but since I put that other panel in on the dash (with the two toggle switches) I think I disturbed the wiring for the oil pressure gauge as now it keeps turning off and on when you go round sharp corners etc lol
depends on the car I guess, but I wouldn't like to do it in an auto personally. Some people do use automatics though, but not many. Its not ideal as clutch kicks are very useful in drifting for most people and you can't do that in an auto.
I don't feel like I'm moving around that much, certainly not to the point where its hindering me, and the stock seats are pretty comfortable. So in no rush to get bucket seats at the moment. The extra caliper mount is on hold at the moment as PBM are bringing out new rear hubs which include extra caliper mounting points so just waiting to see what they are like
Thank you to include me in your blog. I was a first timer at Rockingham, enjoyed a lot :) I bet we met at Santa Pod as well. Keep up the good work, and see you at the next event :) PS: i hope you saw and liked my blue smoke round :)
Ah yeah I spoke to you briefly at Santa Pod, I said how good your car sounded :) what tyres were you using at rockingham? They made sooo much smoke, it looked great
They are standard tyres :) 225/40 R18 The secret of the smoke making is in the technique how you drift. Find on youtube the Drift Bible from Keiichi Tsuchiya, hi is the drift king. I am using his technique as i still learning the methods. The blue tyre is just came from the ebay.
Smoke making is just fun drifting, If you catch the good recepie of Angle+Travel Speed+Wheel Speed+Horsepower+Bend Radius, you will be find it easy to do it to :) You are not far from it, just need to hit the sweet point and keep it there :) I have a club competition day to attend on the 5th of November at Norfolk Arena. But my car need to be sorted on clutch and cooling wise, but the competition track layout is similar as Rockingham....so will see :)
No problem! Looked like you were doing well out there. I've got a couple of other clips of you if you want me to send them to you via Instagram or something?
DedicationBlog yes please, its so kind. Dependent of the size you can send me via email or something like a drop box. Actually i have not alot ot side videos and that will be good for me.
I'll upload it to dropbox and send you a link. I'll send it as a message here on UA-cam but if you don't receive it in the next few minutes let me know and I'll send it on instagram or something instead (the youtube message system is pretty rubbish)
DedicationBlog you can find me on instagram with same nick name. Or facebook Casper Genov thanks. I will download them later tonight when im get home. Thanks.
I've heard mixed opinions on that. The instructor on my very first drift day said its better to blip it, and when I listen to a lot of other people drift it seems like they blip it, and its always worked ok for me. What advantage is there to trying to keep it constant? Surely that just makes it more likely to spin out
Makes its smoother I used to dip it often went out with Bizz whose a BDC driver who said keep it consisted not to an extreme of don't adjust but massage it rather than on/off on the pedal made a world of difference to my driving
ah ok, I couldn't get on that one at pod but doing the one there on the 16th of November and hopefully the infield day at Rockingham on the 20th of November. Hopefully see you on one of them
So fun to see the evolution of your car but also of your drifting skills!
The E type is a real one, restored from two rusty halfs found in a barn.
You should try one of the drift days at Three Sisters in Wigan.
just booked a drift day at three sisters yesterday :)
should come up to one of the 3 sisters days
funnily enough I booked one there yesterday. Its just a beginner day as I've never done that track before and their next "proper" one clashes with the next one at Rockingham unfortunately
DedicationBlog when have you booked on for I live local to it and would love to see the car
Nice linup at that drift day and ur skills are coming along nicely! the white bmw looked the most dramatic
yeah I loved that BMW, sounded crazy and soooo much smoke
So excited for my PBM kit now! Love the vids
Damn nice! Serious improvement from behind the wheel! Keep it up!

Nice video Chris. The 86 looks great with the wider kit on the front.
Holy crap you have gotten really good!
I've heard great reviews of guys drifting on Kenda Kaiser KR-20 tires. May have a look at them. They're quite cheap, as well.
actually just orders some of those, will see what they're like
Great vid, nice shots! In my opinion, in vid gt86 looks allright with just front wide wings, no need for back.
glad someone agrees!

Nice filming/editing!
Great video Chris, your drifting skills are coming along really well.
thanks!
Cant believe some guy took an NSX out drifting...
maybe I'll take the R8 next time haha

DedicationBlog haha ok, lol. That explains a lot. :) Keep up the good work!
1st agaaain yeeeh
Always wondered why do you have a texas sticker on your helmet?
bought the helmet when I had a motorbike, it was a replica helmet of the one Ben Spies used in MotoGP and he's from texas
Crying inside watching that nsx being thrashed around 😩
why? fast cars are meant to be driven hard
Would this be possible in an automatic?
depends on the car I guess, but I wouldn't like to do it in an auto personally. Some people do use automatics though, but not many. Its not ideal as clutch kicks are very useful in drifting for most people and you can't do that in an auto.
When are you getting decent seats to actually hold you in? It'll make it easier to turn :)
Also updates on the dual rear calliper?

DedicationBlog ahh just saying as I got a million times better after getting half decent seats from the heated shit pile MX5 stock ones haha.

Really? I'm surprised technique alone can make THAT much more smoke than everyone else there. Are you doing any more drift days this year?

Ho ho ho. I seen myself. Thanks for included me in you video and blog. Im a idiot with radmad missile skull and bones s14a :)

ok I've sent you a message on instagram as well
Try and hold the revs at a set rpm rather than dabbing it :), PBM kit looks to be doing its job though
I've heard mixed opinions on that. ah ok, I guess I should try it. You doing any more events this year?
I have pod next week then might try and squeeze one in before years finished
