Yeah, your little dude definitely bit the dust at the end of the game. Notice how at the bottom of the screen each evolution showed what you would be next? Welp, once its achieved the second to last stage, there’s nothing but a red cut mass of presumably flesh there.
So yeah, you got swallowed by the sea. I dunno what on earth that creature/machine was that swallowed you (it might have been a living creature, you can look in the background of the final cutscene and find organic material spitting out food onto the conveyor belts), and I don’t think that I want to either. All in all, the game was pretty well made, and had good attention to detail, I liked it.
I don't think it was a creature, if you look closely the things spitting out "food" on the conveyor belt look like the other end of what swallowed you.
Right before eating the last fetus thing if you look at the walls you'll notice you're going inside something, which I think might be some sort of tube sucking in stuff from the sea

But the ending is confusing ?
And finnaly you get crushed
The Ouroboros wasn't a bad guy per se, as it was trying to end the cycle by consuming everything for itself.
But in it's haste to do so, it did not realise that it, itself, was being consumed by everything around as well.
Therefore unknowingly continuing the cycle it sought to end.

I love how this game doesn't scream "HAH, you're the murderous human that eats!" in the end, it just shows the food chain and how were at the end of it, organisms need to consume other organisms to survive.
And organisms that were not of or from this world
That is really not true though. It seems clear you were supposed to evolve past the stage of a simple embryo, and actually have a life in the ocean. The game's twist is supposed to make you feel like you have been robbed of that experience, of actually becoming a creature like Orro. Your life is squashed just before it really starts. It's not as unaffected as you portray it to be.

Their lives were also stopped before they started so what is the difference of theirs from mine? a good point to make is that in the end we are consuming others and that's not right or wrong, it's just a necessity of our biology for a better outcome.

@@solarprogeny6736 In case it was hard to understand, what i meant is that organisms which are dependant on consuming other ones, there is indeed the fact that humans process and produce the food using other animals but it does not ultimately changes anything other than the amount or how it's shared, you can quote out the argument of producing too much but that is other subject, a more political one which is much more wide.
I never imagined a game would make me feel sympathetic for a creature that looks like Qbert.

You kinda got a little embryo-looking, but you were still born a blob "borrus". That was a nifry ending - no matter how King of the Sea anything was, there was something waiting to eat you.
I enjoyed this - even the names of the organisms were cool. This developer is extremely creative & happy to see another game from them!

Probably to make us relate to the creatures on some level to feel pity for them while also doubling as a horror element.
I toigh they were aliens. Maybe humans are starting to colonize and get food. The fish evolved to resemble human faces so they can scare other creatures.
You do realize from an evolutionary stand point humans are animals and we originate form the sea. When the earth could not sustain life cause of the deadly uv sun rays, all life was in the ocean. So to answer you question, THEY dont look humanoid WE do.

Actually no, that's a loop if you notice, it's the start of the game that barrier, you broke it before to enter that area

1) This reminds me of the cell stage in spore which is one of my favorite stages
2) I for sure thought this would be a metaphor relating to pregnancy but I was wrong.

This game has a sequel by the way. Brutal Orchestra. Your character in this game is actually a boss in that game.
The Orro and the Borrus. Ouroboros, the serpent that eats it's own tail, signifying a never-ending loop. I get how the Orro plays it's part, it litterally eats itself, but how does the Borrus fit into this? Their whole interaction is that the Orro tries to eat the Borrus, but the Borrus doesn't seem to loop back into the Orro other than that they are similar creatures in their youth.
It ate the baby of the Orro and assumingly would've grown into something large like it as they had similar human face like appearances. Creating a circular predatory loop where both are top predators that eat the other.

I think those lil' "kissies" restore health as they latch onto you, but at the same time restrict your movement/slow you down a bit.
1: Your surround light got restored as it latched onto you
2: Numerous of them are in the area where those red charging worms are; Probably intentional of the devs to get you to know them without having a constant gameover when you panic as a new player
The Orro. The only creature with the face like a humans, and it eats itself.
I think the game’s message is about humanity swallowing itself? It’s pretty interesting they chose embryonic stages as the progression since it’s a stage of life we humans share with almost all life on earth. I mean seriously try telling the difference between a dolphin embryo and a human embryo.

Wondering why was Orro torn apart in his final moments of chasing you? Was it eating itself like what was pictured in the credits?
I'd say the picture in the credits is just a reference to Ouroboros, because it is depicted in a circle swallowing itself. But in the game itself it is humans hunting for seafood, I'd assume Orro got torn apart by a human contraption, maybe a boat or something
Orro dropped out of whatever we were in, right alongside us.
I would probably say it was simply staving; after all whatever the host animal these creatures were housed within had died, which is why your creature could go from the digestive system into the blood and eat. I presume it was also struggling to survive within this environment.
It might have been protecting the purple embryo that you eat at the end tbh

Theory I just created: orro knew that borrus had the potential of getting bigger to eat them, so they tried to eat borrus first, failing it started to destroy its own body to create a barrier (with the body) to protect their child, but borrus just broke the barrier and ate the baby. Conclusion... borrus/you is a monster.
