If "Alabanza" doesn't make you cry, you're dead inside. DEAD
Orrrr you just dont cry that easily?
@@Mclovin223 I never really cry that much and my sister and I were flooding with tears!
@@lailadobb9221 okay, I was just talking about myself. I usually do cry easily whenever I watch a movie but this one just didn't hit like others don't know why. I watched in the heights in theaters which might be why I didn't feel emotionally touched because I can't cry in front of people lol
@@Mclovin223 It wasn’t meant to come across as rude, I was just trying to joke about my experience with the film! Sorry if it upset you. Have a good day!
@@lailadobb9221 No no I shouldn't have been so harsh I'm sorry:) we all have different experiences and I totally get that ❤️
96,000, blackout, the club, and benny's dispatch and it won't be long now are my top five
Literally Same, Except switch it won’t be long now to breathe
Mines are carnival del barrio, blackout, in the heights, 96,000, champagne and the club
same
Looking at the comments just proves what a masterpiece In The Heights is. Every song is someone’s favorite b/c they really are all excellent and we connect to them for different reasons. My personal top 5 are:
1. In The Heights - one of the best openings to a musical, just brilliantly sets the stage.
2. Carnaval del Barrio - connected me to my roots.
3. Paciencia y Fe - I cried and cried for the ones I’ve lost...
4. Breathe - I mirror myself as a kid in Nina’s shoes.
5. 96,000 - again, just brilliant and fun.
Btw, I have not seen the stage musical, but after looking up the remaining songs, Sunrise and Hundreds of Stories need to be in my list. I need to see the musical first to know how/where they fit and do them justice.
Paciencia y fe is definitely in the top 3. ESPECIALLY from the movie
She destroys that number and the staging is incredible
Paciencia y Fe is #1 for me. Nothing else comes close.
omg yes, she was amazing
Yes
I didn’t really like it as much as Carnaval del barrió and when your home
"Alabanza" tugs at my heart because I recently lost my grandmother due to lingering effects of COVID. She was 99 and had an amazing life, touching the hearts of so many and working so hard to keep herself and her family and loved ones happy after having a difficult childhood in 1920's-30's America
Your grandmother sounds incredible.
Paciencia y fe had everyone in the theatre ugly crying , and finale ... my favorite song even if it makes
Me always cry
That's is my favorite from the movie. Never seen the show but when that song ended I was in tears. Reminded me of the stories my grandma and grandfather would tell me about the early days when they 1st got here from Puerto Rico.
My favorites:
- Breathe
- Finale
- 96,000
- Carnaval del Barrio
- Piragua
Runners-up:
- Alabanza
- Everything I Know
- Piragua (Reprise)
As a Latin American, Carnaval del Barrio will always be #1 for me. It fills me with so much pride in where I come from and gives me such a connection to all Latin American communities. ¡WEPA! ❤️❤️❤️
Same
I feel like I'm the only one who puts the opening In the Heights song, both the OBC and the movie version, solidly in my top 3, only barely beaten by When You're Home and 96,000. It's just such a brilliant introduction to the whole story, and I love the transitions between the various sections. But I never see anyone list it as their favorite :(
I agree, my favorite part is the key change on “paciencia y fe”
It is my favorite
It's 1 for me
The fact that “everything I know” is only #21 is a crime. That song makes me cry so much. Such a shame it’s not in the new movie.
It seems that most songs that weren’t in both are below the songs that are in both.
Why is carnaval on number 6? It's probably close to 96000 in terms of... Well everything!
1. Blackout
2. Carnival de barrio
3. 96,000
But I love When your home, when the Suns goes down, Benny’s dispatch, and Finale
agrees with this sm
"Everything I Know" is like Top 3 if not Top 1, the AUDACITY of ranking it Bottom 3!
Truth
Well it’s not the most important song
I feel your pain, hundreds of stories is the second worst wtf no it’s not
Absolutely agree! Heartbreaking and relatable
FACTS
That song makes me wanna hug my abuela and tell her how much I love her.
I feel like they shouldn’t have cut Hundreds of stories and everything I know bc it showed how close Nina, Usnavi and Abuela were and they just cut it. Also not to mention how they scrapped Nina and Bennys relationship AND took away the fact that Vanessa and Nina were best friends and I feel like they took that out of the movie by having so many characters in the salon, which took away from the point of them not having many customers and having to move.
They also shouldn’t have cut Camillas character bc personally, I liked the fact the tension between Kevin, Nina and Benny which they took out with Kevin not hating Benny.
I think this was handled very well, as the Salon was relocating to the Bronx, because of the constant increasing of commercial rental property in the Heights. I see this happen in my Manhattan neighborhood in Chelsea all the time. Especially, during COVID, so many businesses have closed and a new business immediately opened up.
I loved the movie but want to know how much Benny and Ninas story/stories were sidelined?
Benny and Nina songs in the Broadway musical: Breathe, Bennys dispatch, inultil (it affects their story arc), When you’re home, The Club (small portion), Blackout, (again small portion), Sunrise, Enough (again affects their story arc), Everything I know, and When the sun goes down.
Movie: Breathe, Bennys dispatch, When you’re home, and When the Sun Goes Down.
😑😑😑
This is tragic, since Corey Hawkins and Leslie Grace are enchanting in their roles. They should not have been shortchanged this way.
I agree. They should have at least left their part in the Club
Yeah lol I liked that we had more Vanessa usnavi but Nina and bennys relationship felt incredibly underdeveloped
Wait for the "In the Heights 2"...
As someone who has never seen the musical, I though the movie did a really good job of handling multiple story lines. I can see how they could’ve developed their relationship a little more but I thought it worked well and the movie is already over 2 hrs long
No me diga is hilarious while 96,000 is just amazing. Home all the summer is just a summer bop.
I never cry at movies, and even though I new it was coming, I burst out in tears at the end of blackout/start of paciencia y Fe and continued to cry through till the end of Alabanza. It was so powerful.
I LOVE YOUR PFP BTW ALSO THAT HAPPEND TO MEEEEEEEEEEEE
My top 5!
1- Carnaval Del Barrio
2- 96,000
3- No Me Diga
4- In The Heights
5- Blackout
28:00
This is the one song that made me cry so much. Because I had to give up my first study/dream and dropped out, I felt like a uselesss person, everytime I walked through my neighbourhood. The one who failed, etc.
Honestly feel that way as im only one in family who failed the year because of my already deteriorating mental health due to Covid/Qaurintine as so much opportunities were taken
"Blackout", "Benny's Dispatch" and "In The Heights" are my favorite song from this fantastic musical!!
Blackout is my overall favourite.
Same
“Look at the fireworks, the fireworks, flyyyyyyyyyyyy”

same, I get chills every time. it's crazy in theatre's, just chills...
My top three
1) 96000
2) Alabanza
3) Finale
The fun of 96000, the intense emotions of Alabanza, and the huge emotions of the finale. When Vanessa finds out Usnavi is staying, my heart bursts with happiness.
WHAT?!? Breathe is the best song Lin has ever written!! How is that not number 1!?!
Breathe is best in lyrics, but 96,000 was the best in over-all, in terms of lyrics too, then the performance, everything. especially the movie did great on the interpretation of the whole song
Guns and ships is better
96,000 is spectacular.
I like in the heights the best. Yes you can dislike this comment
Damn straight!!! I seriously thought it was no.1
I've just got back from watching the movie and damn I laughed, cheered and cried, it's an absolute awesome film it's worth a watch if you haven't seen it
WAIT EVERYTHING I KNOW IS WHERE AND WHY NINA DECIDES TO GO BACK TO STANDFORD ON THE BROADWAY VER. THAT SONG IS IMPORTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANT
IKR
Everyone’s leaving there top five so why not lol
1-It won’t be long now
2-Opening (In The heights)
3-No me diga
4-When you’re home
5-Breathe
Carnaval de Barrio it’s a rollercoaster of emotions for me. Makes me wanna dance and cry at the same time. Number one… EASILY!
I always cried after listening Breathe and When You're Home......
I love Breath and Carnival de Barrio along with 96,000
Same🥰
96,000, Carnival del Barrio, Paciencia y Fe, Blackout, and Benny's Dispatch are my top five
I wish everything I know got included in the movie, the emotional weight of that song hits you like a freight train
call me weird but i’ve had lin’s piragua on repeat since the soundtrack came out
because he puts hhis real life adorkable cuteness into it. this is why we love him!
I'm doing a quick top 5 here:
5 When you're home
4 Blackout
3 Carnaval Del Barrio
2 96.000
1 Breathe
My top 3 is
1. Blackout
2. It won’t be long now
3. Carnival de barrio
1. Blackout
2. Carnival de barrio
3. 96,000
pacience y fe is the best number in the movie but carnival del bario on the stage has my heart 😩
i loved breathe since the og play and this one made me cry. also 96000 and paciencia y fe. also hundreds of stories from the og play. and off carnival de barrio and enough from the og. camila >>>>>>>>>>
At 16 I started crying again! I feel like I’ve known Abuela my whole life and I keep crying when I think of this scene
My Top 5
Honourable Mentions - Blackout & When the Sun Goes Down
5. Benny’s Dispatch
4. In The Heights
3. 96,000
2. Carnaval Del Berrio
1. When You’re Home
As a Latino myself, i can sorta relate to mostly every song in this musical, and that's why is one of my favorites, now, the real question here is: Por qué carajos Carnaval del Barrio and Paciencia y Fe are not in the top 3!?
Yo
Esooo de dónde??
@@cresaliasyumbato5604 yo soy de Argentina
@@cristianredes7812 yo de peru jaja
when your home is so underrated, I love it very much🥰
My biggest problem with the movie, especially in 96,000, is that the quality of the audio is nowhere near the level it should be and actually inferior to every play version I've heard. They focus visually on a character but you can hardly hear their part. Also when they lowered to whispers and then come back singing loudly-the movie went underwater, which would've been a cool effect but wasn't in sync with the audio.
I was thinking about the same thing with the underwater part like why didn’t they time it with that lol
I LOVE Benny’s dispatch. I wake up it every morning.
[*] for Sunrise, Hundreds of stories, Everything you know and Abuela Claudia of course 💕💕💕
My favorites:
96,000
Finale
When You're Home
Breathe
In the Heights
Honorary mentions:
Sunrise
Paciencia Y Fe
Blackout
Benny's Dispatch
Is anyone else really glad they changed the lyric from "manage" to "handle" in when the sun goes down because it always drove me MAD
I actually really like Inutil. It’s so touching and it adds so so so so much to his character.
i missed "Sunrise" so much in the movie - essential Benna/Nina Scene
THIS IS EVERYTHING I KNOW SLANDER AND I WON'T STAND FOR IT
1. Breathe
2. In the Heights
3. Alabanza
4. 69,000
Benny’s Dispatch just makes me so happy!!! And Corey’s voice is so stunning
Payncia y fe was my absolute favorite from the movie
Finale is my favorite song, it just makes me cry each time Usnavi realizes he's at home 💜
My personal favorite songs are 96,000, The Club, It Won't Be Long Now, Piragua, Finale, Blackout, Carnaval Del Barrio, Paciencia y Fe, and No Me Diga.
top songs for me: Carnival Del Bario, 96, 000, and In The Heights. I liked the accent that Anthony Ramos put behind the lyric "In Washington Heights".
Breathe made me cry, especially since I’m feeling that now
This is great - GREAT - I just need Champagne in the Top 5 at least!!! It's SO GOOOD
I love how this gave me all the highlights since I’m naughty and simply haven’t gotten around to listening to the soundtrack or seeing the musical. The pandemic has made me too sad since Broadway has closed I haven’t been in tune w musicals in awhile. I used to be obsessed!! Thanks for this
paciencia y fe es una piezita de arte
Si
Paciencia y Fe is my personal top 1

In The Hightes
96,000
Blackout is my favorite song
Enough and everything I know
My favorites are Carnaval del Barrio y Paciencia y Fe
I loved the movie but what irritated me a bit was how they sidelined Benny and Nina's relashionship. I was waiting for Sunrise and their fight in the club and blackout. I was hoping they would show it. And it bothered me that they killed of Nina's mom. The musical is two hours long same as the movie but they still couldn't put more of the importmant songs. I was missing Nina and Benny's relashionship in the movie because I really liked them in the musical. Corey and Leslie had incredible chemistry so I was sad a bit. I get that they couldn't make it the same as the musical. But at least improve Benny and Nina because they gave Usnavi and Vannessa a beautiful ending so it really bothered me how they did Nina and Benny wrong.
Other than that the movie was great and the cast did an incredible job.
Corey Hawkins did an amazing job as Benny like at moments I heard Chris Jackson. Leslie was amazing as Nina. I knew Anthony would do an amazing job as Usnavi and Melissa was amazing as Vannessa. Everyone acted their roles amazingly. And Jon M chu directed it wonderfully now he can give me a Crazy rich asians sequel🤣
Yess In the heights video , been waiting for this 😍
Lol it’s funny that they only talk about the context of the song & stuff and never talk about the music theory & reasons why it’s technically speaking good
bruh this is a viral countdown video page not Music Teacher Reacts
Paciencia y fe is definitely top 3.
In The Heights is my personal favorite because it's the only song from the movie that gets stuck in my head.
I’m only at #19, but I can’t say I’m agreeing with this list very much
Yup i agree
Bad word choice
am i the only one that cried through Blackout, Alabanza, and Everything I Know 😔
one of the very best epic list ever I like it a lot very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever ❤
I like Breathe, 96,000, Canival De Balro and Blackout.
Best soundtrack ever and so beautiful of a Broadway musical and movie .
1)When your home, 2)breathe and 3)96,000 are my top three songs
Ok, but how dare you put Hundred of Stories in number 22?
Honestly Carnaval del Barrio is the best one for me, it just represents the latino culture so perfectly and the song is catchy, this is coming from a Puerto Rican guy btw
So you just put every song that wasn’t in the movie at the bottom? Bull crap, Msmojo. Enough and Everything I Know should have been way higher.
Paciencia y Fe is my favorite
No me diga comes in second place
96000 third
Carnival del barrio
Alabanza
I love this move F haters always looking for something to be miserable about
96,000 is the best. Periodt. End of discussion.
AGREED PERIODT
But how you ranked them??
I love them all equally 🥺😍
I have been waiting for this Finally (:
My top three that was cut from the movie
1. Hundreds of Stories
2. Everything I Know
3. Inútil
Oh and SUNRISE 🌅
Lmao I love MsMojo ❤️
been jammin' with 96000. the pool scene is killing it like crazy 👌🏽
my top 5 are probably..
1. breathe, i love the riffs and leslies voice
2. 96000, i love the overlapping and everyones dreams!
3. in the heights, a brilliant introduction
4. bennys dispatch, i just love it so much, and bennys voice damn!
5. no me diga, its such a fun song!
( from the 2021 version )
22:16 Carnaval Del Barrio made me want to be Latino but it is okay for me staying black!
I've replayed Benny's dispatch scene so many times.
Same it’s such a bop
My favorites are Blackout and 96,000.
my top five
5. 96,000
4. no me diga
3. in the heights
2. carnaval del barrio
1. when you're home
Everything I know should be top 10. It’s my personal favorite, but it’s a slow emotional song that makes Claudia’s death even more impactful. Plus you need an emotional song like that in the musical to move it from good to great because a lot of the songs are super upbeat making it harder to believe that they are having huge problems in the community other than the Blackout. Claudias death isn’t as impactful in the movie but it has more impact than Attencion which can be said through dialogue, and Alabanza which is super impactful but has other ways of conveying the same message. I loved the movie but it really needed that song in my opinion.
Paciencia y fe is my fav, though Blackout is amazing and gives me goosebumps 🤩
My top 5
- Paciencia y Fe
- Breathe
- Carnaval del Barrio
- 96,000
- Black out
Oh you did NOT just rank Alabanza that low
I knew someone was gonna say it😂
For me Carnaval De Barrio is number 1. I loved seeing all Latin cultures coming in together. And seeing my flag being waved. Made me a proud Mexican.
My favourites have got to be: Alabanza, Carnaval Del Barrio, 96,000 and Benny’s Dispatch!
Carnival is my favorite! Then probably Breathe, No me diga, and the opening...but I'm not sure what order I'd place the last 2 in 🤔 I really love Piragua too
my top 10:
1. paciencia y fe
2. blackout
3. enough
4. it wont be long now
5. in the heights
6. breathe
7. inutil
8. benny's dispatch
9. finale
10. alabanza
With $96,000 I would start my business with a vegan food truck!
Hundreds of Stories higher on my list. I love the melodies
"In the Heights" is my #1.
THERE IS A WHOLE SONG ABT ICE CREAM.
Why I love Lin Manuel.
No mi diga, 96,000, in the Heights, and the black out are my favorites
