I always wondered how they shot the dancing scene with Benny and Nina. I thought it was fully CGI'd not an entire hydraulic platform, the effort they put into this is insane.
In the Heights has to be one of my favorite film adaptations of a broadway play ever!...You can see that it was a labor of love by Lin, the director and all the actors and film crew...I am obsessed with the soundtrack...Thank you so much for bringing this musical to the big screen...It was long overdue and very needed right now....🙏♥️🇵🇷
When the sun goes down was incredible I can't believe it I thought they use special effect and green screen, they literally make the whole apartment set
Part of what makes In The Heights so big and beautiful is the involvement of everybody. The background characters all dancing as one. It makes it so much more powerful
Loved the movie, and the diversity of latin actors. Great job. Please bring some more. Everyone role was awesome. God bless you all. So proud to be a latina🇵🇷❤️
I love it. I don’t understand why people complaint. Latinos are different in skin, hair, shapes and this movie has variety of all of that. I think never will be enough for some people. I love it it make me feel, remember mi childhood and recognize traditions that I accept I don’t appreciate before to have them.
This is just incredible! I haven't seen the movie yet... but the soundtrack has been playing on repeat- the work that has gone into this film is outstanding and I can't wait to see it!
Interesting that the wall was "real". I had imagined that the whole thing was green-screened as the sunlight reflection on the bricks looked like it was lit by the rest of the scene!
Yeah, that was hella impressive! I absolutely was wondering how they did that as well - and while watching it was 100% like “naw, no way they actually pulled an Inception”. But they did!! And it looked great :) The VFX for the lighting and extension of the set was impressive. To be fair though, another musical did the trick even before Inception did - props if you can name it! 😆
Everyone is so talented man, I am a singer who likes to dance and acting maybe one day this brown kid will make it like Anthony! I love his music and I look up to his talent, thats my big dream!
Wow that must’ve been exhausting. Honestly in between shots they look so tired. I mean one shot requires like 2-3 takes maybe if everything goes right and that’s only one shot there must be tons of shots at different camera angles which means exponential-tons of takes. And if you’re doing intensive choreography that has got to makes your muscles and bones hurt. I couldn’t do it. Praise to the cast man.
Yeah seriously. And praise to the background/chorus dancers, especially!! Not that the leads aren’t doing SO much of the work, and literally carrying the thing - but I think people forget that the level of intensity that the background dancers are constantly asked to bring is a whole step above that - and they don’t get the benefit of narrative breaks in between the physical bits, either!

They just look like they were having the best time…
I know right! Its so palpable! ❤️
I bet I heard they have like a 10 week bootcamp type of thing before they do this so ig them doing this is like their reward in a sense

I love how Lin and Christopher Jackson were both in the movie ❤️
Yup! What else did you like?
I lost my shit when I realized what role both of them played, it just seemed so fitting for the small interaction they have on screen.
And also the actors who plays Usnavi was also in Hamilton alongside Lin and Christopher
@@rosaondarra-barron8835Yeah Anthony played John Laurens and Philip Hamilton

They know in which club it was filmed ''The club'' scene?? I want to visit the places in the movie on my next trip
Ah I love this vid🥺
Same! Did you watch the commentary on our channel?
Man I miss New York pre pandemic 😔
The beach scene for “finale” is recording in Dominican Republic? (Sorry my bad English) xd
It was actually shot on a beach on Long Island in New York but they used props and cgi to make it look like the DR.
Imagine if we saw ‘Hair’ cameo with his moves in the movie..iykyk
The song from Vanessa we never got to hear 😔
who was the video camera man. He did a great job!
He definitely did 😊
I think, they filmed on location
