Since I found korean beauty, I find myself shopping less and less at Sephora. There’s so many affordable good products elsewhere. I still shop a few things that I haven’t found dupes for. But mindful is definitely the name of the game. ❤
I've been saying this for so many years! I get that Sephora is trying to reward people who spend a lot with them but it has always felt a little backwards to me that the people who can afford to spend $1000 at Sephora every year also get the biggest discount lol, I need a discount specifically because I CAN'T afford to do that. Great suggestions! I appreciate you giving information on the shade range for deeper skin tones.
I love the kulfi concealer and recommend it to people all the time. It’s an excellent range especially for brown skin because they have plenty of olive undertone shades.
Ty so much for the shoutout! 😭💗 I definitely feel like Sephora Pro and BK could be made in the same place!! Also have to agree about SKII! I’ve just never been able to find a replacement for it. I don’t use it year-round, bc money lol but it has definitely helped my hyperpigmentation more than anything else! That and Dieux Skin - so worth it!!!!!
I am so impressed by how quickly you got the hang of editing and flow. That is not easy at ALL, but you got it!! And yep, love Dieux/SK-II so much (heyo it rhymes!)
I am only VIB and don’t see the point in shopping the sale for 15% off when Black Friday is only weeks away. I did pick up a Sephora blush last year and really like it.
I said the same Sephora didn't do anything for themselves by making us wait for Nov for the sale when BF and Cyber Monday is right around the corner and Nordstrom has been doing 15% off sense like July on and off
I tend to agree. My only caveat is that if there’s a ‘prestige’ brand item or something you can get on sale during this one that I’ve been waiting on, I usually for for it now rather than waiting. I feel like more than half the time they’re left out of BF & CM deals, so if it’s something I was planning to purchase anyway, I’ll take 20% and that much less holiday insanity. 🤷🏻♀️
You know mentioning Sephora Collection - I do like their eyebrow gel and pencil. I have used many products from Sephora Collection - I haven't really had any luck with the skincare, but the eye masks and face masks are OK. I don't really like any of their lip products, my daughter does like the Sephora Collection brushes, I think I bought that collection for her a few years back and she does love them. Have a lovely evening Alice, and yes it is so cozy with a thunderstorm and another coffee. ❤😃❤
Same for me with the skincare. I’ve heard the cica mask is nice so I might pick that up in the sale, but overall it’s kind of been “meh” for me. Hope you have a lovely evening too 🥰
I LOVE their eyeshadow sticks and eyeliner. So many colors. My eyes water like crazy here in winter, and the SC eye stuff stays put and then washes off easily. Now I’m Gonna try their eyebrow stuff!!!
I'm just a plain old beauty insider, so I don't get a big discount because I just don't buy make up as much as I used to but thank you for these very focused and excellent suggestions. I've been dying to try the Haus labs foundation, so that one might be on my list. I'm also going to look into the program you talked about at the very beginning of this video. Last thing I wanted to tell you that your makeup and look was so pretty in this video. I love the way you did your eyes!
Thank you Alice. I am Rouge too but this is the last year. So many of the brands have better sales on their websites and Sephoras point system is horrendous. My link to give a friend 20% didn’t work and Sephora said there was nothing they could do about it-only perk is 20% twice a year. Pathetic. However may puck put Dr. Idriss set, K18 and possibly one of the sephora favorites sets. Hope you got a $10 bonus, finally signed up for Be Frugal with your link.
I absolutely agree about cinema secrets. I will get my Lancome Bi Facil. Some skincare backups. I absolutely love the Sephora cotton squares. The brushes are so good. Happy shopping. ❌️⭕️
Yes alice! i love you so muuuch! Thats why i love the elastic skin, bcause its like 2 or 3 products in one wih the copper pepties, vegan snail mucin, and barrier ingredients 😭😭😭💘💝 im sorry for thinking u didn't like it 😢
My cart has neccisaire body and hair care in it since the brand sales tend to give their body retinol products as GWP instead of a discount, and I prefer Kopari for that. I’m grabbing a couple other one-off products where I would not meet the shipping minimum on the brand’s site, plus some more Sephora products brushes. I love the Kulfi cream eyeshadow and have the concealer on my wish list.
Hi Alice. I believe the Sephora sale for me is only buying the makeup range. I will not tryout the never tested formula and only go for the tried and true products. As for the Glow Recipe products is usually just for the toner range since they satisfy the entire toner all in one product. 😊
I will def be buying Pro brush 47 and another 71 concealer brush heheh. I personally LOVE the bk beauty brush sets more bc the shapes are so unique-especially the extension to the core line. I mean a silly little concealer brush that’s shaped like a beauty blender yessss sign me up.
I've been waiting for this sale! I have some items that I've been coveting for months, so I squirrelled away some money in preparation. Also, I'm almost out of my Sephora Best Skin Ever foundation, so I've been waiting for the 30% off to replace it! I'm also using the gift cards I get from donating blood to the Red Cross for this.
Planning it out is the smart way to do it! How is that foundation? I bought it myself, but I bought it in a shade that is waaay too light (somehow, which is actually pretty impressive)
@AliceintheRabbitHole on me (normal but dehydrated skin), it's a very natural finish and doesn't look cakey. I also found my perfect shade match, and that makes such a difference.
From Sephora the only western skincare I buy is glow recipe, I do but tons of makeup there though, as I love brands like Natasha Denona which is my favourite for palettes, and also brands like Fenty, ABH, Huda etc... I would like to try Haus labs as everyone seems to love that brand, and also makeup by mario is another I have never tried
I’m looking at my skincare and nothing I need to restock… but I am all about that minis life!!! and both Laneige (HG) and Lawless (never tried) have cute minis sets and their mascara minis sets are usually good around the holidays.
I use Cosrx 6 peptide the galactomyces cosrx and the numbuzin 3 and seem with that combo to cover all my peptide ferment needs to “ dupe “ the SKII seems to work ( and still cheaper
I swear by the missha first treatment essence. The SKII was nice but not any better than the Missha!!! And HAUTMESSTOM is my forever friend in my heart and mind if not in real life😂
I am waiting for the 25% off with Klarna - much better deal - even though some of the hot items may be sold out. That Glow Recipe Toner makes me so sad - it used to be my favorite product from their brand - just can't use it anymore. I loved the consistency, the smell and the glow that I had using that product. I love Innbeauty - there are quite a few products (not all of them) that I like in that brand. The Extreme Cream is really my favorite - love the consistency of that cream.
Extreme cream is a lovely moisturizer too! I thought about pulling that out for the dupe conversation (I hear it’s a dupe for Augustinus Baders the Rich cream) however…it’s no contest for me as the rich cream was a disaster on my skin 🤣 more proof that dupes do work out sometimes hahaha!
Hi Alice! Love the video, especially the lip balm part. I’ve tried so many, including the JBeauty one you mentioned, and they all make my lips feel sticky or dry. The only one I seem to like is Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Lip Balm. I wish I could figure out why other lip balms make my lips feel dried out, even if I touch them and they feel soft. It’s such a weird feeling.
I see, thank you so much! I remember when I was younger, vaseline did fine for me? I can’t remember exactly because it felt so awful on my sensory issues that I just stopped using it. Lanolin wasn’t much better so I thought perhaps occlusives weren’t for me. Olehenriksen was likewise too heavy. I’ll try to see if there are any occlusive leaning lip balms that are lighter. If not, I’ll try hydrating ones again.
Yeah i would skip on the kosas it is famous both for beibg great as well s growing mold! (i don't gice chances to products with tht kinda reputation if i got like a serious eye-infection i would be so mad at myself)
I know you are not talking about this right now - but I was doing a little bit of looking at the brand History of Whoo - omgosh! there are so many different products, how and where do I start looking for something that will be good for me? Please do another review of that brand sometime - maybe in the New Year? I love the Tocobo lip mask - I use it all day long, and I have on the go right now Etude Fruity Lip Balm. I also have three other ones open on my bedside table - I love lip balms and masks. ❤❤❤
Yes they are truly a huge brand! It’s hard to get info about them in English, so tbh I would suggest checking out the monodist here on UA-cam - she has a ton of great info about whoo (and more!!)
I just bought the Lab oligo HA essence SPF PA ++++ love that stuff, i am not for anything really spf wise at Sephora maybe would like to try the Tatcha one someday. I have a couple tatcha products in my cart that i haven't tried but really its the last thing i want to love with the price 😂 i was going to get the essense the serum moisturizer one in that set with a mini moisturizer the one that is frangance free and i want to try and the oil cleanser ?? Do u have a good korean oil cleanser that washes off really good not thick and u can do a 1 cleanse with. Have u tried the tatcha one , is it worth the price ? I keep narrowing down my cart their is just so many other sales i want to buy from this month and stuff i need Sephora doesnt sell. I will hunt the sk11 on BF i cant be without it 😂 i kinda wanted to try the tatcha to see if it was similar with great results too. I just bought the Armapacific green tea essence as well so do i need all these essenses yes yes i do 😂 i love essence and toners . I really like the Sephora brush cleaner as well especially for 30% off not quit as good ans smell as good as cinima secrets but it gets the job done , ill probably pick that up sense im almost out . Ill end up with the smallest amount of the huge cart i made over the weeks . The sale kinda just sucks along with the way they treat their customers and they are so cheap they dont give out the delux samples anymore and u can no longer get the GWP with the 20% off code which is cheap and crappy of them .
Just followed the 411 channel thanks. What r you fav Sephora brushes. Not that I need more brushes. Ha so funny I thought the same about bk beauty and KVD had similar too
*rolls up sleeves* 🤣 47/71, the “cat paw” concealer and foundation brushes. So good for lighter coverage! 70 foundation for when I want a beauty blender like look with a brush (I use a pressing motion with it) - optional, but sometimes it’s exactly what I wanted 99 blush brush. Comes to a point which seemed almost counterintuitive? And yet works SO well for perfectly diffusing blush 50 powder, great for both powder and bronzer 79 contour, for undereye powder and for highlight moreso than contour (can skip 98 highlight and get this instead) Hope that helps; not all are a “need” if you have other brushes (like bk haha) but I can say I love all of those! ☺️
@@AliceintheRabbitHole71 concealer brush is denser and pushes product into my under eyes better than Bk Beauty A506 imo. 99 is such a multipurpose brush. I use that and BK beauty N17 for foundation, blush, and even bronzer. 99 is more dense but can diffuse blush at the edges, while N17 can also set your face w powder. Love. When I travel I only bring 2-3 brushes and they are it (minus A507)
I don’t really know how this is possible, but actually…both? Somehow it’s neither too heavy for day nor too light for night. Only problem with saying that is I’ve gone through it quickly with that much usage!
I am pretty set except for mascara and brow but I like Nyx. Working from home has changed the makeup needs and I could care less about their sales really.
