Me and my father drive ours off the forecourt in 2001 and we’ve still got the old girl as it’s now my wife’s daily car when dad upgraded to a disco 4. 210,000 and 20 countries including up inside the artic circle..we’ve just come back from a 2000 mile trip around the alps and apart from a brake light bulb it didn’t miss a beat! Drives nice, comfortable and spacious.
In 2022, I paid $35,000 for a 2004 Land Rover D2. 83,000 miles. Interior was pristine. Head gasket was replaced , brand new all terrain tires, frame was sprayed, safari rack, ladder, snorkel. Here we are 9 months later, I have put $10,000 into water pump, power steering system, radiator, seals, engine front cover. At the end of the day, a brand new SUV that isn't nearly as cool as the D2 is going to be $75k+. I feel like I am still on the right side of this with $45k into it. 🤣
Australian proverb. If you want to head out into the outback take a discovery, if you want to come back alive take a Toyota ! Actually I have a 2000 disco 2 and so long as you look after them yourself they can be pretty reliable, easily serviceable and fun to ride in and, in manual form, quite economical on fuel for their size.

Thank you for saving me from making a costly mistake 😮😮😮for
I bought a 2003 Disco2 brand new and drove it until it rusted out in the rear and the 3 amigos came on for the third time. I was sad to see it go!
1999 models still bringing a good price compared to the Japcrap !
Ah and there is the ignorant racist comment. You must be great at parties.

Guess I’ll look for something else 🤷🏽♂️
I was interested in this video until I heard AI quirks. I'd rather get my information from a human thanks.
